The proposal of this exercise seeks to study how the structure of a building works considering material, connections and design. The building was designed to house a professionalizing centre for youngsters and the material chosen was tiber because of its strength and the speed it guarantees to the construction. The biggest challenge was to understand the structure of the trellis arch and make it possible to built.

The biggest challenge of this project was to find a way to resolve the extensive requirements in a complex site. The project consisted in institutional, services, commerce, residential and leisure areas. In addition to that, the building site is in the most important East-West road and between two underground stations.

The solution was to insert the institutional and services buildings close to this roads creating a courtyard and connecting it to the other two adjacent areas with a footbridge and on the opposite side insert the stores, the residential building and a outdoor auditorium.

The goal of this exercise was to design a multifunctional complex to house a corporative and offices buildings and commerce centre. The area of the project is in the centre of Sao Paulo, close to two underground and a train stations, a important commerce street, a museum and a university.

The method was to study the main flows and search strategic places for each one of the project requirements. The solution was insert a commerce base on the two first floors connecting the courtyards and above this base put the corporative and the offices towers.

t i q u a t i r a The goal of this exercise was to study the watershed of Tiquatira river in Sao Paulo, understand the reasons of the frequent floods and develop a masterplan of a linear park that provides leisure areas, more connections between the two neighbourhoods and also relocates the people who live in the slums.

The first approach was to separate the different layers os the city: the urban fabric, the river, green areas and urban equipment as a way to understand each one individually.

The final proposal seeks to create a new dynamic in the area connecting all the green areas and urban equipment through cycle ways, and provide spaces for leisure.

Over the last year in Kingston University we faced the challenge of design a multi-functional building complex in Seville, Spain, that provides spaces for workshops, creche, exhibition centre, dance studio, auditorium and residences.

The site is located in the Calle Saint Luis, in the north area of the old town. The site also has an old building that houses the headquarter of a group of students that promotes yoga classes and political discussions with the community. Another interesting aspect of this site is the marks the time left in its walls and ground that evokes the memory of the place.

My first approach was study the typology and the topography of the city and understand how that dynamic would influence in my design. Second, started studding some particularities of the typology of the buildings in Seville, such as the spaces in between, witch are external structures that provides shadows, and the materiality of public buildings in Seville.

Considering this, my proposal seeks to promote the experience of the everyday life and evoke the feeling of Collective Memory already ingrown on San Luis walls and ground.
