The Cause/Effect concept: this definition describes the dynamics that lead to a precise action with a pre-established consequence. EF Design was created with the specific aim of redefining the cause/effect concept for extreme performance clothing for cyclists. Up to now, cycling clothing has always been purely considered as the outcome of technological research and design. To me, it is something more. I see things differently therefore I have changed my ideas and created an innovative, unexpected and different brand. I have given a new definition to the concept of technical clothing for cycling: now clothing has acquired a new meaning. It has become an integral part of athletic movements, and thanks to this new feeling between humans and clothing, it can help athletes achieve top performance. EF Design garments have been engineered so that cyclists cannot feel them when cycling. They become a second skin that is imperceptible, close-fitting, lightweight and high-performance.

Concetto di Causa///Effetto: con questa definizione si descrivono le dinamiche che portano una precisa azione ad una conseguenza predeterminata. EF Design nasce con il preciso obiettivo di ridefinire il concetto di causa/effetto nell'abbigliamento per ciclisti dalle performances estreme. Fino ad oggi l'abbigliamento da ciclismo è sempre stato visto solamente come il prodotto della ricerca tecnologica e del design. Per me è qualcosa di più. Per me le cose stanno diversamente. Per questa ragione ho cambiato il mio punto di vista e ho ideato un marchio diverso, innovativo e inaspettato. Ho dato una nuova definizione al concetto di abbigliamento tecnico per ciclismo: ora l'abbigliamento ha acquisto un nuovo significato, è diventato parte integrante del gesto atletico, e grazie al nuovo feeling uomo-abbigliamento, è diventato un elemento capace di aiutare l’atleta a raggiungere performance superiori. I capi EF Design sono stati studiati per non essere percepiti dal ciclista durante la performance per arrivare ad essere una seconda pelle, impercettibile, aderente, leggera e attiva. The special fabric finish offers two important benefits: a considerable reduction in aerodynamic resistance compared to standard smooth fabrics and unrivalled comfort, since the special finish reduces points of contact with the skin, creating cushions of air for increased control of moisture and body temperature. This results in more efficient temperature control than in other garments produced up to now.

To research our innovative fabrics, EF Design began with examining the performance of individual components. For us at EF Design, the eVent membrane is a point of reference, as this material gives finished fabrics recordbreaking qualities of waterproofing, breathability and temperature control. The open-pore structure of eVent membranes ensures that garments are extremely lightweight, allowing the body to “breathe” and guaranteeing extreme comfort in any weather conditions. The outcome is that the garments in the EF Design collections allow double the amount of perspiration to be released compared to waterproof fabrics generally used for clothing for cyclists. Nello studio dei nostri innovativi materiali, EF Design è partito dall’analisi delle performance delle singole componenti. La membrana eVent rappresenta per noi di EF Design un punto di riferimento in quanto questo materiale dona ai tessuti finiti una impermeabilità, una traspirabilità ed una termoregolazione da primato. La struttura a pori aperti delle membrane eVent assicurano ai capi una grande leggerezza e permettono al corpo di “respirare” assicurando un comfort estremo in ogni condizione climatica. Thermolite fabrics are based on hollow-core fibre technology, which guarantees high performance thanks to many hollow-core fibres that trap air and therefore provide increased insulation. The result is a reduction in weight and an increased ability to remove moisture from the skin, allowing quicker evaporation than a smooth fabric. Thermolite is a new milestone in fabrics for technical clothing for cycling. It is synonymous with quality, comfort, resistance and durability. The EF Design R&D department has taken great care in choosing the materials and treatments applied to fabrics inside garments, which are made of hydrophilic fabrics that ensure efficient removal of liquids and quick evaporation of perspiration. Thanks to hydrophilic treatment, clothing is practical and comfortable for a more natural and enjoyable performance. Grande cura è stata dedicata dal centro ricerca e sviluppo EF Design nella scelta dei materiali e dei trattamenti applicati ai tessuti interni dei capi. I capi sono realizzati in tessuti idrofilici, capaci di garantire un efficace trasporto dei liquidi e una rapida evaporazione del sudore. Grazie al trattamento idrofilico i capi risultano comodi e confortevoli per una performance più naturale e piacevole.

This special treatment gives the garments in the new EF Design collections a record-breaking ability to repel water on the outside. The special finishes given to our garments provide optimal comfort even in heavy rain or when humidity persists on foggy days. The result is excellent wellbeing for the most demanding cyclists. In addition, it is much easier to wash mud and splashes of dirty water off garments treated with EF LIQUID REPELLENT since liquids do not come into contact with the fabric fibre and they can be easily removed. Questo speciale trattamento conferisce ai capi delle nuove collezioni EF Design una capacità di respingere l’acqua proveniente dall’esterno di assoluto primato. Le speciali finiture a cui vengono sottoposti i nostri capi conferiscono un elevatissimo comfort anche in condizioni di pioggia battente e umidità persistente come ad esempio le giornate di nebbia. The EF Design R&D department has given special painstaking attention to researching and selecting the chamois pads for its garments. A chamois pad is a crucial key element when choosing bibshorts therefore an important partnership has been established between EF Design and a leading producer of Elastic Interface chamois pads. This partnership has led to Road Performance Air Cube. The structure of this special chamois pad has been engineered to provide the best performance in any situation. High-density perineal inserts have been purposely designed for prolonged performance even on rough tracks. The raised support has been strategically positioned, allowing natural rotation of the pelvic bones for greater comfort on the saddle. With its dynamic structure, the unique Cube coating provides a great sensation of comfort on contact with the skin. Further research has led to the creation of a polygiene treatment that makes the chamois pad bacteriostatic. Finally, for extra comfort on the saddle, AIR technology has been developed in the perforated base support, designed to provide increased breathability and quick drying.

Da questa collaborazione è nato Road Performance Air Cube. La struttura di questo speciale fondello è studiata per rendere il massimo in ogni situazione. Inserti ad alta densità nella zona del perineo sono stati appositamente studiati per performance prolungate e su strade sconnesse. Il supporto rialzato in posizione strategica permette all’osso una naturale rotazione del bacino per un maggior comfort in sella. L’esclusivo rivestimento Cube, grazie alla sua struttura dinamica, dona un grande senso di comfort a contatto con la pelle. Ulteriori ricerche sono state condotte per arrivare a definire un trattamento polygiene che rende il fondello batteriostatico. Infine, per aumentare ulteriormente il comfort in sella è stata sviluppata, nella base di sostegno forata, la tecnologia AIR, studiata per offrire una maggiore traspirabilità e un asciugatura più rapida.

Moreover, F///RW999 is particularly suited to adverse weather conditions, thanks to its water-repellent treatment that ensures excellent performance from the membrane even in heavy rain. The applied technologies harmoniously interact with the eVent membrane, enhancing its already extraordinary technical qualities. For this women’s garment, once again, Domino technology guarantees increased thermal insulation and remarkable aerodynamics, whereas Flow technology wicks away warm moisture that accumulates at the apex of the neck and, with the aid of the Flow Neck system, keeps the neck dry, preventing discomfort and pain caused by cold air. F///RW999 risulta inoltre particolarmente indicato in condizioni climatiche avverse grazie al trattamento water repellent che assicura alla membrana un funzionamento ottimale anche sotto la pioggia battente. Le tecnologie applicate, in sintonia con la membrana eVent, elevano le già straordinarie qualità tecniche dei materiali.
