A study done by the United Nations in 2010 concluded that only two thirds of the world’s population have never truely seen a night sky.

How HOW does DOES Light LIGHT POLLUTION WORK? lights that go on at night reflect light off the ground and into the sky, which then is reflected back towards Earth from the clouds. This creates a dome of trapped light that envelopes much of the modern world.

EFFECTS?

Light pollution has already shifted nocturnal animal’s biological clocks and can cause several species to mistake the lights for their own senses. This can lead to dangerous and unwarrant situations for the animals.

HUMANS?

Humans have also been effected by light pollution. The artificial lights have already begun to Effect the Human biological clock, cause erratic sleep schedules. In Addition, Blue LEDS from Artificial Lights are harmful to the human body.

How HOW CAN WE REDUCE Light LIGHT POLLUTION? Unfortunately, there is no definitive solution for light pollution, since light pollution is a direct product of the physics of light. But, we can reduce our light clutter and overillumination by turning off more lights in the night!

SOLUTION? While there is no definite solution to Light pollution, one proposed solution would be to cover the city in a dark light absorbing material to absorb more of the light from appliances. This plan would require a way to incorperate some cooling system to cool the city from the heat gained from absorbing light.
