Exclusive Inside

Terrence Charles Leading up to our first Gospel Unplugged Concert it’s been a very interesting journey. With the help of Celeste, Sam, Bianca, Farah, and Mackie we have stayed on course and we are excited to be hosting Danielle Lewis’ album release. Booking the venue was a huge task in itself; many of the venues didn’t know how to cater for an event like this and they kept giving us the run around. Thank God for his favor, a venue we looked at Crash Mansion, had been booked and they weren’t available. I called them again about three weeks after my first attempt and it is available for us to use for our first concert. Being a young company, as ours is has been very difficult. The

resources that we needed didn’t come in as fast as we needed it too, but God placed companies and people in our path to help us do our best for our very first event. The people that God placed on the team have been very helpful and inspirational in helping me make this happen. They bring individuality, and creativity to this new venture, which builds with my ideas and is allowing Gospel Unplugged to reach a whole new level. I am very excited for this event to happen. It’s only a matter of days before it takes place and I am anticipating what is going to take place. Its amazing to see something that God has birthed in you and when you give yourself the things he can do with you and the vision.

By Celeste Rimple As of now, when most people think of Gospel Unplugged, I’m sure the next thing that comes to mind is Danielle Lewis, this amazing gospel artist that we’ve been ranting about. But, for those who are unfamiliar with exactly who she is, join me, as we enter into the life of Danielle Lewis. Like most gospel artists, Danielle began singing at the age of 4 at her home church Deeper Life Christian Fellowship in Richmond Hills, NY. As the years progressed, Danielle continued to

excel musically as well as academically. Her parents drilled into her the importance of being well rounded. Putting this into practice, Danielle always did her best in everything she was involved in. While attending Elmont Memorial high school she was a A+ student (literally, graduating with a 4.0 average) and she was involved in numerous activities including Model UN, cheerleading, and the Peer Helpers program at her school of which she was the president. Danielle did it all, and

did it all well. In addition, because her parents were both involved in entertainment (her mother was a traveling ballerina and her father did work on Broadway), they understood the importance of her excelling musically. Her mother enrolled her in Queens College where they had Saturday programs for young children who wanted to learn music theory and taught them how to read music. She also learned how to play the piano from the age of 6! After high school, Danielle enrolled in Hunter College and it was then that she made one of the biggest decisions that greatly influenced who she is now. While studying liberal arts and working at Banana Republic, Danielle realized she wasn’t completely satisfied with what she was doing. She knew she wanted to go to Five Towns College and consistently prayed about it, knowing that if God wanted her there, then He would make a way for her;

and this He did. During her freshman year, at the age of 19, she transferred to Five Towns College where she received a degree in Music Business and during this time her love for music grew more and more. Musically, Danielle took many strides to becoming the successful gospel artist she is today. When she was a young child, her father helped her create her first demo that consisted of multiple songs by her favorite artist, Yolanda Adams. Years later, Danielle created her first demo that was released to the public in 2006 which was a major milestone in her life. It was this time that Danielle’s relationship with God flourished even further and her ministry began to increase. She started traveling around the country giving various people vocal lessons on weekends while working a full-time job during the week. It was during this time that she knew it was time to ask God what was her next move and He’s led

her to where she is right now, approaching another major milestone in her life: the release of her first album, “Amazing”. For those of you who are interested in any career path, Danielle’s advice is diligently study what you want to do and push to be on the top of your field. Know your craft so that you can be that the top ten percent. Push and do all that you can to be the best that you can! Needless to say, Gospel Unplugged is privileged to present such an amazing gospel artist in her album release night. Danielle Lewis has gone through a long journey to find her true purpose in life, and with the help of many people who God placed in her life to open doors and lead her down the right paths, she is embarking upon yet another chapter of her life and we’re happy to be helping her along the way!
