Welcome to Guildford Spectrum and our Christmas Ice Panto Cinderella!
Cinderella on Ice has been expertly created in-house by our very own Ice Coaching team, Melissa Galvin-Tyers and Ruth Woodstock and performed by skaters enrolled onto our weekly Ice Skating lesson programme. Each and every year the standard of skating excels expectations and this year is no different with a total of 136 amount of skaters performing throughout the 3 days to bring you this superb Ice Skating show.
Leisure Centres are vital parts of the community, improving the health and wellbeing of people of all ages and your support by attending Cinderella on Ice is so greatly appreciated by all the team at Guildford Spectrum.

We would like to wish you all a very enjoyable show and a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year.

Lead cast

Cinders - Evie Donaldson
Our Cinderella is played by Evie who is 17 years old and has been skating here at Spectrum for 7 years after attending a birthday party here. Evie is an A level student at Esher College and her favourite jump is double loop. We’re sure you’ll agree that Evie’s performance as Cinderella is simply breath-taking.
Prince Charming - Lili Birkmyre
Lili is 17 years old and has been skating here at Spectrum for 10 years - she fell in love with Ice Skating as it was her way to escape after a long day at school! Lili’s proudest skating achievement to date is being cast as’ Jack’ in our 2021 production, she is a dynamic and powerful skater who is amazing to watch.

Felicity is 18 years old and an A level student at GHS. Felicity has been skating here at Spectrum for 11 years and is very proud of the fact she has been in every show since 2012 – her wonderful performance as Buttons is one of her best yet! Felicity is hoping to study to be a veterinarian at university.

Fairy Godmother - Robbie Wheeler
Robbie is a very welcome addition to our ice show family, an international medallist who started skating after bringing her daughter skating for the first time. Robbie is a qualified Lawyer and Human Resource Director who uses figure skating to release her inner showgirl – you’ll get a little glimpse of that today!

Baroness Hardup - Mary Wareham
Mary began her skating journey at Richmond Ice Rink in London having watched the European Championships on TV and is incredibly proud of the fact that despite the trials of the last few years her skating is stronger than ever! Mary’s favourite jump is Axel and greatly admires Italian figure skater Carolina Kostner.

Sisters Grimm - Emily Powis & Charlotte Wright
Emily and Charlotte are the perfect double act and a joy to work with, they are both 17 years old and have been training here at Spectrum for 10 years. Emily and Charlotte are training hard and hope to qualify for the British Junior Championships in 2023. Welcome to our adaptation of the most magical of fairy stories ‘Cinderella’. With life going back to normal we were committed to making this our biggest production to date and with our largest ever cast of 137 skaters we’ve certainly achieved that! I think you’ll agree that we have some incredibly talented skaters training here at Spectrum who are all ready to delight you with a very special performance.

As ever I would like to say a massive thank you to the wonderful and talented people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make this production possible, from Natalie Kirk and her team of chaperones to the ‘Great Ice Show Sewing Bee’ and not forgetting the backstage crew. Special mention to Kirstie Pollak and Katy Cunningham for their assistance during the rehearsals and to my ‘partner in crime’ Ruth Woodstock for her unwavering support.
Finally, thank you for supporting our production and I hope you enjoy the show.
Message from Ruth Woodstock Executive Producer
Welcome to our little escape from the real world into the magical world of Cinderella. Combine this with some wonderfully talented ice skaters, who all train here at Spectrum and you have the most spectacular Ice-Skating show Guildford has to offer.
The journey begins each year before the last performance of the current show.
Myself and Melissa - our gifted choreographer - start throwing ideas around as to which show we should do. This starts a chain of events which begins with Masterclasses for skaters (of all ages) from our Ice School to prepare for auditions. After the auditions in May/June the Cast is set, the music sourced and the choreography planned. Off ice rehearsals get underway in September along with going in the studio to record the voices you hear telling the story and the excitement begins to build. October half term is the first time the skaters can put things on the ice. Things start to speed up after this and our wonderful sewing bees make, alter and wash costumes. Props are made and old ones renewed with a lick of paint. The curtain and seats are ordered and the transition from ice rink into an enchanting ice theatre complete.
A massive thank you to Nick Vowels and Dave Henson for their help and unwavering support and to all who help put this production togetherwell done!
