This year’s Lent lectures at Guildford Cathedral will explore the place of Psalms in our life of prayer. As Lent approaches, Praying the Psalms provides an opportunity to learn more about the Psalms, which are at the heart of Christian scripture and worship. Each talk starts at 7.45pm on a Thursday evening, and will conclude with compline in the Lady Chapel at 9pm. Series coordinator Canon Dr Julie Gittoes says: “The Psalms are at the heart of our scriptures and our worship and articulate our hopes, fears, joys and sorrows. As we journey through Lent, we’ll explore how praying the Psalms equips us to walk on the way of God and to delight in his commandments.” Dates for the talks are: ll25 February – Katherine Dienes-Williams (organist and master of the choristers)
