Overview Massanutten Military Academy (MMA) serves through enlightening and educating the youth of today so that it paves way for a better future. A cadet’s experience at the academy is bound to be enriched with innovative skills and all-round knowledge. The coeducational school prepares young bodies and minds to be sharp and matured. Right from grades 6-12, cadets are groomed with systematic training devised to gear them up for college and life in general. Students are also offered one year post-graduation courses. Teaching programs are customized to every child’s capabilities. This helps compensate their deficiencies. The Military Academy builds character and sends out well-structured service men and women devoted to being law abiding citizens.

History
Military programs were adopted by Massanutten Military Academy only in 1917. Prior to that, it was a regular college preparatory school for boys and girls. It was founded in 1899 and expanded its construction plan over the decades. The conversion of the academy into an all boys’ school was followed by the introduction of the military education model. The then school president felt that discipline values the new system portrayed would cultivate gentlemen like qualities.
