Born in Vicenza, in 1992, Federica Sasso lives and works in Milan, Italy. After obtaining a degree in Visual Arts at Istituto Italiano di Fotografia, in 2016 she was awarded a oneyear scholarship at FABRICA. She has participated in two collective exhibitions: the New Italian Photography "Racconte-moi une historie" at the Italian Institute of Culture in Paris and "Looking on" at MAR Ravenna. Viktoriia is a photographer and Saida is a stylist and art director, both from Donetsk, Ukraine (Vicoolya is kind of a cute type of her actual name that stuck with her since teenage times). With a strong eye on aesthetics and attention to detail, the rugs have been specifically designed with the comfort of cats and dogs in mind, and come in high quality, absorbent, water-repellent, double-sided, luxury Ecopel, which can be washed in the machine at a low temperature (30°). GUESS holds GEN Z LAB
Last spring GUESS and the Lifestyle-Tech Competence Center announced the launch of the GUESS GEN Z LAB 4.0 insight workshop for 2nd year bachelor students, which was held at the brand’s headquarters in Bioggio, Switzerland, on the 22nd-23rd May.
As well as the participation of students from the French International Fashion Academy (IFA), the Manchester Fashion Institute (MFI), IED Madrid, SUPSI and USI in Switzerland, and the University of Padua, the 2023 GUESS GEN Z LAB welcomed students from the Shenkar College of Industrial Design, in Israel, further highlighting the growing international interest in the initiative.
The objective of the research platform is to strengthen the brand’s connection with Generation Z consumers through a process of direct engagement and exchange of ideas, while providing students with an extensive set of tools for working in the fashion marketing industry. During the activities, students get hands-
on experience of how the fashion industry works, including the analysis of real-life case studies, social media posts, message ideation and campaign messages. They also participate in photo shoots, app, e-commerce and in-store testing experiences, providing them with invaluable insights into how customer service processes and feedback management are implemented and work within the corporate world.
“Our experience at the GUESS Gen Z lab has been truly incredible. Firstly, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with such an established and impactful brand like GUESS. It was a unique chance to contribute to the brand's understanding of how our generation thinks and approaches fashion, as well as our shopping habits, particularly when exploring online shopping sites. This collaboration also allowed us to have a significant influence on GUESS’ future marketing plans throughout the duration of our studies. One of the most valuable aspects of the lab program was
the acquisition of new skills. We were provided with the tools and knowledge necessary to tackle real-world challenges that we will undoubtedly face in our future careers as designers and creatives. The program also encouraged us to think critically and outside the box, igniting our minds and enabling us to develop innovative solutions. The new Marciano by GUESS store opened on the 28th of June located in Forte dei Marmi - Italy, on the very central Via 4 Novembre high street, on the corner of via Carducci. “We wanted to capture a day in the life of Georgina, going behind the veil to catch a glimpse into this superstar’s life of glamour” says Paul Marciano, GUESS Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer. Leaning into the lavish opulence that has become Georgina, the campaign was shot in the historic 19th Century Santo Mauro Hotel in Madrid. Against the backdrop of the hotel’s luxurious private gardens and regal hotel rooms, Georgina shines as the modernday “It girl” with endless star quality and a heart of gold.

If you think of when you were a teenager, what is your first memory of GUESS?
My first memory of GUESS is when I arrived in Madrid when I was 19. I was working in a town in Aragón and I came to Madrid one weekend to drop off my CV for Massimo Dutti. Afterwards they called me to offer me a one-year training contract and that's when I moved to Madrid with some savings I had. One of the first stores I visited in Madrid was the GUESS store. I bought myself a few things, including a full denim jumpsuit. Every time I wore it I felt very comfortable and very sexy. I’ve actually kept it to this day, I’ve kept it for my girls to wear.
This is your first campaign for GUESS and Marciano. How do you feel about it?
It's a real pleasure and an honor for me to be part of the GUESS family. All the campaigns you have done have been with iconic women who represent fashion and today to be able to be one of them is an honor and will go down in history. I’m so grateful for the opportunity. Life puts wonderful people in your path and shows you that dreams come true. I still can’t believe that I’m going to appear in all the fashion magazines that GUESS features in, as one of the brand’s iconic women.

Tell me about your fans?
I love them. It's thanks to the fans that I am who I am, I value the love they give me a lot. It's wonderful when you make an effort and get to where you are and on top of that you receive so much love from people.
Besides being beautiful, you have the great gift of personality. It’s very special for me to have you in this campaign. Are you happy about the collaboration?
I’m delighted! Yesterday at the shoot, I have to say that I got very emotional when you told Ramon, my agent, that you had chosen me for this campaign because I represented all the brand’s values which include respect, self-improvement, honesty and teamwork.
What I noticed being here on set is your team. The team around you is not just a team, they are your friends?
When I met my agent Ramon, we connected and clicked so well that I said this is the person I want by my side, to grow alongside because I know he is
to me. In all the jobs I had before getting into the fashion world, when I was a waitress, shop assistant and nanny, I have always been lucky to come across good people. I think that if you are good as a person, life puts wonderful people in your destiny, and they will help you reach your destination.
You have very strong values and you are respecting these values. Why is this so important to you?
I have to be the best example for my children because they will become what they see at home. You have to be respectful and you have to fight for your dreams.

What is the difference between liquid eyeliner and kohl?
Liquid eyeliner and kohl give two completely different effects. Liquid eyeliner can be compared to the effect of a felt-tip pen, while kohl is similar to a crayon. The eyeliner paints sharper lines, while kohl lines are softer.
How can I get my eyeliner to look good all day?
Use an eye primer to make the eyeliner last until bedtime, especially if you have oily eyelids. If you have sensitive, watery eyes, a waterproof eyeliner is best. Another trick is to prime with a kohl and then apply a line of liquid liner over the top; this way the lines will stay in place longer.
How can I make the eyeliner look the same on both eyes?
Sometimes it can be as simple as trying an eyeliner with a narrower or softer tip for a more even result. Measure where to put the lines by dabbing a small dot of liner where the eyeliner should start and end.
