A VIEW FROM THE TOUCHLINE
I would like to wish you all a very warm welcome to The Limestone Construction Field, Monks Sports Club this afternoon for our game against Milford ARLFC in the Impact Performance National Conference League Division Two.
We welcome the players, supporters and committee of Milford to Woolston and hope that they have had a safe journey and enjoy our hospitality today.

Today will be the first time that we have faced Milford for over twenty years so it will be good to see them again; no doubt some of each club’s committees will still be involved from that last encounter. Milford, as well as Woolston, were one of the original ten teams when the National League was formed in the 1986/87 and they went on to win the league in 1987/88.
We started the season really impressively with five wins from seven games; the only two setbacks coming at Dewsbury Moor Maroons and Shaw Cross Sharks, with very late scores costing us victory. I’m sure that Billy Sheen and Mal Holt will have the lads ready to bounce back to winning ways this afternoon.
Our NWML side have not been in action for a few weeks, and don’t play again until n next weekend. So far they have won two and lost two of their four games to date. Liam Lawton will be keen for his lads to get back out onto the field next weekend. A couple of advance notices:
Our Under 14s Greens entertain Shevington Sharks in the National Cup Semi Final on Sunday 28th May; please come down to Monks’ on that day and give the lads your full support as they aim to reach the National Cup Final.
Our very first Beer Festival will take place on Friday 30th June and Saturday 1st July; please keep your eyes peeled to our social Media channels for further details over the next couple of weeks.
Also in the programme you can find the fixtures for our Junior teams who play tomorrow. We have plenty of excellent players (and coaches) within our Junior ranks so if you have a spare hour or two in the morning please try and get along and show them your support.
Thanks for your attendance today and we hope to see you again very soon. Why not bring a friend along with you next time and introduce them to the Rovers!!!
