Chevron Sponsors STEM Kits at Casa Mare
Thanks to our amazing Catalyst partner, Chevron, our council introduced 36 new STEM kits at Casa Mare! These kits will be ready for girls to explore and enjoy while camping this summer. Each kit contains supplies and easy-to-follow instructions for activities that spark creativity and curiosity. The new kits include popular camp activities like birdwatching, astronomy, healthcare, bugs, and team building. Plus, some activities are exclusive to Casa Mare, including K’NEX bridge building, knot tying, magnets, identifying minerals, board games (perfect for rainy days), and more!
With these kits, girls can lead their own adventures, team up with friends, and dive into STEM activities that ignite their imaginations. Since 1912, girls have been unlocking their potential and sharpening their STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) skills through Girl Scouting. STEM is one of the four core pillars of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, and we're passionate about giving girls thrilling opportunities to dive into STEM in fun, hands-on ways!
Chevron shares our belief in the power of STEM education for girls and is helping us empower the next generation of innovators and leaders. When girls engage in Girl Scout STEM programs, they gain four key benefits:
• STEM Interest – Girls become excited about STEM and are eager to learn more.
• STEM Confidence – Girls build unshakable confidence in their STEM skills.
• STEM Competence – Girls develop problem-solving abilities by thinking scientifically.
• STEM Value – Girls discover the relevance of STEM to real-world challenges and society.
We want to send a huge thank you to Chevron for helping girls dream big, explore STEM, and unlock their full potential! Together, we're shaping the leaders of tomorrow!
Donated bikes give Girl Scouts a fun way to explore Camp Robinwood
We’re sharing the news with all our Girl Scouts to get ready for an exciting new adventure at camp!
Our amazing friends at JE Dunn Construction recently teamed up with local Girl Scouts to build bikes, giving girls a new way to explore the grounds at Camp Robinwood!
The brand-new bikes were delivered to the camp in February. Girls can now check out the bikes to zip around and discover the beauty of nature. Camp is about embracing new challenges, feeling the thrill of adventure, and pushing yourself in fun, exciting ways. With these bikes, girls will have even more opportunities to explore, stay active, and make unforgettable memories in the great outdoors!
