Joy Behar is among today’s leading comic talents. Whether performing standup comedy or interviewing politicians and artists, she is an original voice and leading woman on both stage and screen. She was a member of the original cast of ABC’s “The View” for 16 years, returning as co-host in September 2015 for the show’s three most recent seasons.

Veanne Cox has received a Special Drama Desk Award for “Excellence and Significant Contributions to the Theatre” and an Obie Award for “Sustained Excellence.” She has appeared on Broadway in An American in Paris, A Free Man of Color, La Cage aux Folles, Caroline or Change, The Dinner Party, Company (Tony® Award nomination), and Smile

Sherri Shepherd is an actress, comedienne, NY Times best selling author, and Emmy® Award-winning Talk Show Host most notable for her seven years co-hosting “The View.” In addition to daytime television, Sherri competed in the fourteenth season of “Dancing with the Stars” and is a memorable player in prime time. Her credits include “30 Rock,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “SHERRI,” “Less than Perfect,” “Everybody Loves Raymond.” Additional film credits include Chris Rock’s “Top Five,” “One For The Money,” “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa,” “Guess Who’s Your Caddy,” “Beauty Shop” and “Cellular,” and the Oscar®winning film “Precious.”

Randall Myler (Director) Tony Award® nominee for coconceiving and directing It Ain’t Nothin’ But The Blues at Lincoln Center. He recently directed Rock & Roll Man at New World Stages (with producer Rose Caiola), which won a 2023 BEST MUSICAL AUDELCO Award for Excellence in Black Theatre. He is also known (both as writer and director) for his critically acclaimed Hank Williams: Lost Highway (Drama Desk, Lortel nom, Outstanding Musical; 2 years at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville) and his Janis Joplin bio-musical Love, Janis, which surpassed 700 performances at the former Village Gate.  Myler’s other numerous credits include co-conceiving Nat King Cole and Me with Gregory Porter; directing former Ronette Ronnie Spector’s triumphant UK tour of Beyond the Beehive; directing Dream A Little Dream: The Mamas and Papas Musical with “Papa” Denny

Doherty; Fire On The Mountain: Music Of The Coal Mines (Best Musical—Bay Area Critics); and, most recently, I’ll Take You There: The Music Of Muscle Shoals. His extensive regional credits include The Kennedy Center, Arena Stage, Mark Taper Forum, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Alley Theatre, Seattle Rep, Denver Center, Dallas Theatre Center, San Diego’s Old Globe, and many others.

Rose Caiola (Producer) Caiola Productions has won eight Tony Awards® and numerous Drama Desk Awards, producing over 50 Broadway shows. Their award-winning productions include: Company, The Inheritance, Once on this Island, Dear Evan Hansen, The Color Purple, All The Way, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and Parade. Current productions include Cabaret, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Glengarry Glen Ross, and Left On Tenth. Rose Caiola is a musical book writer and was nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award for Freckleface Strawberry The Musical. She received an AUDELCO Award as book writer of Best New Musical Rock & Roll Man, which is currently en route en route for a UK run. Rose is the owner of Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, as well as the exciting new MMAC Theatre opening this January with its pilot production, My First ExHusband.

Cyrena Esposito (Producer) A long-time talent manager, former talent agent, and founder of Red Letter Entertainment, representing some of the industry’s finest and award-winning talent. Cyrena is a producer on Broadway’s Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, which was nominated for nine Tony Awards®, including Best Musical Revival. She also co-produced the Tony® Award-winning musical Memphis, as well as Spider- Man on Broadway. She earned her BFA in Theatre and began her career as an actress. She worked in television development before becoming an agent, where she repped Ms. Behar and her childhood idol, a dream come true, Liza Minnelli. Christopher J. Bailey (Artistic Producer) This season marks Mr. Bailey’s 27th at George Street Playhouse and 19th as its Production Manager, having previously served the Playhouse as Technical Coordinator and Sound and Lighting Manager. Most recent for designing for GSP was Sound Designer for King James, Lighting Designer for What the Constitution Means to Me and The Immigrant. Also Lighting Designer for GSP’s production of Clever Little Lies, which moved to the Guild Hall Theatre in East Hampton and then off-Broadway to the Westside Theatre. His other designs for GSP includes 6 scenic designs and 9 sound designs for GSP’s Educational Touring productions, 28 lighting designs and 40 sound designs for GSP’s mainstage productions. Also, has designed for: Pearl Theatre, Barrington Stage, Premiere Stages, Bickford Theatre, Abingdon Theatre, Strand Theatre, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Two River Theater, Ashlawn Highland Opera, LKB Dance, Randy James Dance, Rand Theater, The Irish Repertory Theatre, Westport Country Playhouse, Long Wharf, Delaware Theatre Company, Jacob’s Pillow, and more. Mr. Bailey also teaches Stagecraft and Play Production at Middlesex County College.

Scott Goldman (Artistic Producer) celebrates his 20th season with George Street Playhouse having joined the staff in 2005. He was appointed General Manager in 2019 and named a co-Artistic Producer in 2025. His time at George Street Playhouse has allowed him to work with legendary artists spanning nearly 100 productions and the NY transfers of world premieres of productions of The Toxic Avenger, It Shoulda Been You, Gettin The Band Back Together, Clever Little Lies, Curvy Widow and Little Girl Blue and Joy, the musical. He holds a BA and MS from Ithaca College.

Laiona Michelle (Artistic Producer) Laiona’s body of work at George Street Playhouse ranges from actress, singer, director, and Artistic Associate. Having starred in Little Girl Blue, American Hero, and Tiny Beautiful Things in addition to directing What the Constitution Means to Me, Having Our Say and Her Portmanteau. Laiona has made it her mission to identify and provide a platform for BIPOC and those underrepresented in the theatre community. Laiona Michelle made her Broadway debut in 2015 in the musical, Amazing Grace, which opened at the Nederlander. Cast in the principal role of Nanna, a woman stolen away from her family in Sierra Leone by slave traders. Laiona is the recipient of the Broadway Alliance Award and Lilly Award (2022); the Barrymore and Carbonell Awards (2004); and the NAACP Hollywood Award (2005). Laiona was also nominated for numerous awards, including the Lucille Lortel and Antonyo Awards (2022); and the Helen Hayes Award (2005). Some of her TV/Film credits include “Lift,” “All My Children,” “Law

& Order: SVU,” “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “The Blacklist,” “Crashing,” Amazon’s “Sneaky Pete,” and”Blue Bloods” Laiona Michelle earned her MFA from Brandeis University in 2000.

Edgar Herrera (Executive Director) Born and raised in Mexico, Mr. Herrera received the prestigious 2004-2005 Management Fellowship of the League of American Orchestras, taking on special projects with senior leadership at The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Atlanta Symphony, The Aspen Music Festival & School and The Elgin Symphony (IL). In 2005 he was appointed the Executive Director of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra; after two years leading the PSO, he was nominated for the League´s Executive Director of the year under 40. In 2007, he was recruited by the Syracuse Symphony to lead the Marketing and Patron Development department. Mr. Herrera moved to Mexico City in 2009 to become the Executive Director of a private foundation formed by partners of the consulting firm McKinsey & Company. In 2013 the Clinton Global Initiative extended an invitation to Mr. Herrera and his foundation to become a member. In 2014, with an entrepreneurial mindset and smart investments, Mr. Herrera successfully developed a multitude of business ventures, including a digital accounting firm, an international trade enterprise, a consulting firm and a mining business, which he sold in 2019 to go back to his real passion, the performing arts. Mr. Herrera joined the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra in early 2020, where he successfully used his experience, both in the Arts and in the private sector, to completely transform the institution.

AUDIO-DESCRIBED PERFORMANCES

We offer audio-described performances for patrons with visual impairment.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING SYSTEM

For patrons who have a hearing impairment, light-weight, comfortable receivers are available from the NBPAC Concierge desk. If any individual requires special assistance or assistive technology, please contact the Patron Services Manager at 732-246-7717 as far in advance of the program as possible.

COVID-19 SAFETY

All patrons are welcome and highly encouraged to wear masks at all times while inside the venue.

FIRE NOTICE

The exit indicated by the red light and sign nearest to the seat you occupy is the shortest route to the street. In the event of a fire or other emergency, please do not run, WALK TO THE EXIT.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

George Street Playhouse maintains a policy of not canceling performances due to inclement weather. Please call Patron Services, 732-246-7717, if you have any questions.

LATE SEATING POLICY

The theatre is open to the public one halfhour prior to the performance. In consideration of all patrons, latecomers will be seated at the discretion of House Management.

RECORDING EQUIPMENT

Due to copyright and union regulations and restrictions, still cameras, video cameras or any type of recording equipment is not permitted at any time in the theatre and will be confiscated.

SMOKING

The NBPAC is a smoke-free environment. There is no smoking or vaping in the building.
