Back to School, Back to Growth: GSPI Reopens with Excitement

The halls of Global Sevilla – Puri Indah once again came to life as the school officially opened its doors for the new academic year on July 16, 2025 Excitement and energy filled the campus as both returning and new students gathered for the first day of classes.

The day began with a cheerful meet and greet session, where students, parents, and teachers had the opportunity to reconnect and warmly welcome new members of the school community. It was a joyful moment marked by handshakes, smiles, and shared hopes for the year ahead.

To kickstart the academic year with renewed passion and purpose, the secondary teachers of Global Sevilla –Puri Indah Campus participated in a two-day professional development training held in the cool and serene environment of Bogor on July 10–11, 2025

Teachers and staff welcomed students into their classrooms with enthusiasm, setting the tone for a year of meaningful learning and growth. In the days leading up to the opening, teachers thoughtfully prepared their classrooms designing welcoming learning spaces filled with color, creativity, and care. Meanwhile, the school’s administrative team worked diligently to ensure that all facilities were clean, safe, and ready to provide a conducive environment for students and staff alike.

The first day was filled with warm introductions and light-hearted fun. Through icebreakers, classroom games, and getting-to-know-you activities, students engaged in meaningful interactions with their peers and teachers These activities helped ease first-day jitters and foster a strong sense of belonging across grade levels

As Global Sevilla continues its mission of nurturing lifelong learners, the opening day stood as a shining example of the school’s deep commitment to both academic excellence and a strong sense of community From the classrooms to the hallways, the spirit of collaboration, care, and readiness was felt throughout the campus ensuring that every student felt seen, supported, and inspired from the very first day.

Adding to the warmth and significance of the occasion, Mr. Michael Thia, Superintendent of Global Sevilla, graced the opening day with his presence. In a heartwarming message delivered during the morning assembly, he extended his encouragement to both students and teachers, reminding everyone of the shared purpose that unites the Global Sevilla community: to grow, to learn, and to make a difference. His words were both uplifting and grounding, setting the tone for a school year filled with purpose, resilience, and hope.

Mr Randy, Interim Principal of Puri Indah Campus and Assistant Superintendent, also addressed the community with a message of unity, responsibility, and growth. He thanked the faculty and staff for their unwavering preparation and encouraged students to embrace each day as an opportunity to learn and become their best selves.

The success of the first day was no coincidence it was the result of the collaborative effort of teachers, staff, school leaders, and students alike With thoughtfully prepared classrooms, welcoming activities, and positive energy all around, the campus buzzed with the excitement of new beginnings It was a joyful and smooth start to what promises to be an enriching, empowering, and memorable school year ahead.

Empowering Educators: Secondary Teachers Attend Training in Bogor

Mr. Randy, Assistant Superintendent of Global Sevilla and Interim Principal of the Puri Indah Campus, led an insightful session on effective teaching practices and classroom management strategies. He also outlined the key expectations for the upcoming school year, emphasizing the importance of consistency, care, and creativity in delivering quality instruction. His message focused on building a learning environment that nurtures both academic growth and student well-being

Mr. Marko, Vice Principal, and Mr. Alvin, Secondary English Teacher, provided hands-on training on how to maximize the use of Microsoft Teams for both classroom instruction and school communication. Teachers explored the platform’s features and learned how to streamline class routines, share learning materials, manage assignments, and facilitate interactive lessons ensuring that teaching remains efficient, accessible, and engaging in both in-person and digital formats.

In addition to the enriching learning sessions, the training also featured a series of wellness activities that brought energy, laughter, and relaxation to the experience. Teachers participated in group exercises, mindfulness moments, and team-building games that encouraged them to step away from the usual routines and simply enjoy each other’s company. Whether it was a morning stretch amidst Bogor’s cool breeze, a friendly group challenge, or a quiet reflection by the garden, these moments offered space for personal renewal and meaningful connection

With the goal of promoting health, self awareness, and overall well being, Global Sevilla – Puri Indah Campus conducted a two-day Wellness Program on July 24–25, 2025, led by the dedicated team of Ms. Grace, Mr. Ralphie, and Ms. Rasbina. The first day of the program, July 24, offered separate wellness activities tailored to both male and female members of the school community. Male students and teachers participated in a film viewing of "Supersize Me", a thought-provoking documentary that shed light on the harmful effects of excessive fast food consumption, particularly focusing on McDonald’s. The session sparked reflection and discussion on making healthier dietary choices and the long-term impact of lifestyle habits.
