Council-Led programs are organized by GSNC staff, are offered on a specific date, and require parents or troop leaders to register their Girl Scouts on our website. GSNC staff have organized a schedule of programs for all Girl Scouts in Nassau County to attend!
Most of our Council-Led programs are drop-off programs. Drop-off programs require parents and caregivers to drop their girls at the program location and pick them up once the program has ended. Parents and caregivers are not permitted to stay during the program for space and facilitation purposes. Staff are made available at these programs to provide supervision and instruction for the girls.
You can register on the GSNC website or on myGS. Visit gsnc.org, click on the Programs link and navigate to your program of choice. Once there, click Register to complete the process or you can register on MyGS by visiting mygs.girlscouts.org, then clicking on the Program tab and selecting Find an Event.

Non-Nassau County Girl Scouts include Girl Scouts from other councils outside of Nassau County, non-registered Girl Scouts, or siblings and friends known as Tag-Alongs.
Would you like to coordinate programs specifically for your group? GSNC staff have worked with program partners to offer you a menu of program options with set topics and prices.
Instructions for troop leaders and caregivers to organize their own programs with GSNC program partners:
• Review the menu of program options in this guide to see what topics match the interests of your group.
• Reach out to the program partner directly with the contact information provided in the program description.
• Work with the program partner to pick a day for your group to have their own program. Some program partners do not have their own venue, and in those cases, the program cannot take place at private residential homes, indoor or outdoor.
• Submit the Local Day Trip Request Application to GSNC Customer Care. This form must be approved by GSNC for the program to take place.
• Market the program to your group and manage registrations.
• Fulfill ratio and Safety Activity Checkpoints requirements by ensuring at least two approved Girl Scout adult members accompany Girl Scouts attending as a group.
• Oversee drop-off and pickup at the program.
We’d love to see what you are doing. Share your experiences with your Girl Scouts sisters by sending pictures and a short description with your full name and troop number or Juliette status to GSNC at marketing@gsnc.org.

These awards represent the highest honors a Girl Scout can earn. All three awards give you the chance to do big things while working on an issue that’s captured your interest in a big way.
Whether you want to plant a community garden at your school and inspire others to eat healthily for your Bronze Award, advocate for animal rights for your Silver Award, or build a career network that encourages girls to become scientists and engineers for your Gold Award, you’ll amaze yourself and inspire others.
Plus, as you earn one of Girl Scouts’ highest awards, you’ll change your corner of the world—and maybe even beyond. The possibilities are endless.
This training is designed for Girl Scout leaders and adults who will be guiding girls through the process of earning their Bronze Award. You will learn the ins and outs of what is required, so Girl Scout Juniors see how rewarding it is to make the world a better place, right at home, in their community! Once girls earn their Bronze Award, they tend to go on and earn all of the three highest awards. Help set them on this path!
Bronze Award Training can be found in the Resource section at gsnc.org/bronze.
Want to become a Silver Award Girl Scout? First step is to take GSNC’s Silver Award training to help you to learn the requirements and discover your inner leader. Complete this training to feel confident as you develop a true Take Action project. Leaders and adults are welcome to join in so you are prepared to help Girl Scout Cadettes on their journey to earning the Silver Award.
Silver Award Training can be found in the Resource section at gsnc.org/silver.
Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors, leaders, and/or adults are invited to watch our online training to learn GSNC’s process, what it means to do a Take Action project, important deadlines, how you are approved, and what your interview will be like.
Questions: Email customercare@gsnc.org or call 516-741-2550
Remember, Gold Award Girl Scouts don’t just change the world for the better, they change it for good! We challenge you to join this elite group of Girl Scouts.
Gold Award Training can be found in the Resource section at gsnc.org/gold.
Driven to make a difference? Gold Award Girl Scouts are the dreamers and doers who make the world a better place. You can be that Gold Award Girl Scout, too.
Here are the steps to take to educate yourself so you are ready to take on this challenge.
• Start with looking over the Gold Award webpage at gsnc.org/gold. This is a great resource for all things Gold at GSNC!
• All girls seeking to earn their Gold Award MUST read Your Guide to Going Gold. It is your second step and mandatory!
• Once you have done these steps, it’s time to set up your GoGold account. This online tool will help you develop your Gold Award idea and is how you submit your proposal to GSNC.
Important: The May 1 proposal submission deadline is for high school seniors only.
Registered Girl Scout Volunteers: Access the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award information you need on gsLearn. Log in today to get started: mygs.girlscouts.org. Select the “168 Highest Awards Info and Trainings” on the homepage after logging in!

Camp Blue Bay 2023
Troop Camping has been part of the Girl Scout experience since its inception. Camping is fun and a great way to build new skills and develop a deeper appreciation for nature with friends.
Traditional Troop Camping is planned and carried out by a group of Girl Scouts and their camp-trained volunteers/leaders. Your troop will help decide what activities they want to do, what they want to eat, and what new skills or adventures they want to try while at camp.
Registration is ongoing by season. Tent units and Troop Houses are available spring and fall; Troop Houses are also available in the winter. For more information and to check availability, visit bit.ly/CBB-Troop-Camping and download a Troop Camping application
Training is provided to help Girl Scout volunteers prepare themselves and their troop to enjoy outdoor experiences together. Training will introduce progression in the out-of-doors, review camp facilities, and provide basic skills for outdoor programs. Under the guidance of trained and enthusiastic adults, troops may take their first hike, build their first campfire, and sleep under the stars for the first time. This training is required for a troop to participate in Traditional Troop Camping at Camp Blue Bay. For more information and to register for this training, scan the QR code or visit bit.ly/camp-training.

Are you looking to experience troop camping but haven’t had the opportunity to participate in the required outdoor training? We have an opportunity just for you! Troops can enjoy a trip to Camp Blue Bay and leaders can participate in the training while at camp. Over the weekend, Girl Scouts will participate in a variety of activities led by volunteers and staff as they learn all about the traditions of Girl Scout camping. Meanwhile, adults participating in outdoor training will spend the day learning everything they need to know about troop camping from our outdoor trainers. Open to all GSNC Brownie, Junior, and Cadette Troops with appropriate adult coverage (adults participating in training will not count toward adult coverage).
$60 per person, includes Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, and Sunday breakfast
Please note: Adults taking the training will be required to take Virtual Trip Training and attend a pre-planning meeting prior to the event date.
Schedule a Camp Blue Bay Badge Workshop to have one of our instructors guide your girls through completing a badge of their choice. $12.00 per girl (minimum of 10 girls per workshop)

Troops will be able to preorder three basic camping supplies to be onsite when they arrive at camp. Items available: charcoal, small propane containers, and bundles of firewood. Visit gsnc.org to learn more.

Girls need to have experiences with other girls to:
• Discover that they can solve problems and overcome challenges together
• Develop leadership skills that will make them successful in both the classroom and the workplace
• Practice building healthy friendships, with girls inside and outside of their grade level, school district, and beyond
GSNC offers a variety of programs that girls in troops and independently registered girls with no troop affiliation (Juliettes) are invited to attend. Programs are skill-based and relative to the world girls are living and learning in every day. Some programs are shared family experiences. All programs are convenient and affordable.
