Council-Led programs are organized by GSNC staff, have a specific date, and require parents or troop leaders to register their Girl Scouts on our website. GSNC staff have organized a schedule of programs for all Girl Scouts in Nassau County to attend!
Most of our Council-Led programs are drop-off programs. Drop-off programs require parents and caregivers to drop their girls at the program location and pick them up once the program has ended. Parents and caregivers are not permitted to stay during the program for space and facilitation purposes. Staff are made available at this program to provide supervision and instruction of the girls.
You can register on the GSNC website or on myGS.
Visit gsnc.org, click on the Programs link and navigate to your program of choice. Once there, click Register to complete the process or you can register on MyGS by clicking on Program tab and selecting Find an Event.
Your Girl Scout will not be guaranteed a spot in a program until you have completed the payment process. Spots sitting in the shopping cart are not saved spots. Upon completion, you will receive a confirmation email. This email contains important information such as links, materials required, and rules of conduct. If you do not receive a confirmation email, contact customercare@gsnc.org. A
Payment must be made at the time of program registration. Fees may be paid with the following types of payment: Credit Cards Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover
Earned by individual girls who sell 300 or more boxes of cookies. Individuals must select Program Credits under Choose Payment Options on the registration page in myGS. In cases of insufficient Cookie Credits, staff will contact you for the remaining balance.
Girl Scouting is available to every girl regardless of socio-economic status. If you are in need of financial assistance to secure a spot in a program, please fill out the Financial Aid for Program Request Form. Once this form is completed, council will reach out to you.
Registration fees are nonrefundable unless Girl Scouts of Nassau County cancels the program due to extenuating circumstances. Refunds are not available for no-shows, late arrivals, early departures, or participants’ technical issues.
Your Girl Scout can only be photographed at GSNC programs by selecting a Photo Opt In status on her profile in your MyGS Account. You can check and edit her profile at any time in your account by logging into your account, clicking on My Household, and editing the profile under your Girl Scout's name. At the bottom of the page, please check off your options including Photo Opt In if you wish your Girl Scout to be photographed at GSNC programs. Save your changes if you make any. Every renewal year, please remember to check and edit all your profiles in your household when you renew and save your changes.
Occasionally non-Nassau County Girl Scouts can attend programs. Please read each individual program listing to determine if non-Nassau County Girl Scouts are permitted to attend the program and if there is an additional fee required for them to attend. Non-Nassau County Girl Scouts include Girl Scouts from other councils outside of Nassau County, non-registered Girl Scouts, or siblings and friends known as Tag-Alongs.
Would you like to coordinate programs specifically for your group? GSNC staff have worked with program partners to offer you a menu of program options with set topics and prices.
Instructions for troop leaders and caregivers to organize their own programs with GSNC program partners:
• Review the menu of program options in this guide to see what topics match the interests of your group.
• Reach out to the program partner directly with the contact information provided in the program description.
• Work with the program partner to pick a day for your group to have their own program. Some program partners do not have their own venue, and in those cases, the program cannot take place at private residential homes, indoor or outdoor.
• Submit the Local Day Trip Request Application to GSNC Customer Care. This form must be approved by GSNC for the program to take place.
• Market the program to your group and manage registrations.

These awards represent the highest honors a Girl Scout can earn. All three awards give you the chance to do big things while working on an issue that’s captured your interest in a big way.
Whether you want to plant a community garden at your school and inspire others to eat healthily for your Bronze Award, advocate for animal rights for your Silver Award, or build a career network that encourages girls to become scientists and engineers for your Gold Award, you’ll inspire others (and yourself). Plus, as you earn one of Girl Scouts’ highest awards, you’ll change your corner of the world—and maybe even beyond. The possibilities are endless.
Check out our highest awards pages on gsnc.org for great resources and the detailed toolkits to get you started. Then take a training to help you understand all the requirements and GSNC process. Trainings can be viewed online at your convenience or sign up for one of our virtual Zoom trainings.
This training is designed for Girl Scout leaders and adults who will be guiding girls through the process of earning their Bronze Award. You will learn the ins and outs of what is required, so Girl Scout Juniors see how rewarding it is to make the world a better place, right at home, in their community! Once girls earn their Bronze Award, they tend to go on and earn all of the three highest awards. Help set them on this path! Bronze Award Training can be found in the Resource section at gsnc.org/bronze or register for the virtual training at gsnc.org/programs.
November 16, 2022 or February 15, 2023, 7:00 pm-8:15 pm

Have you ever wanted to stand in the outfield of a Major League stadium, or before a crowd of World War II veterans, or before your fellow Girl Scouts at the Gold Award Ceremony or Adult Recognition Event?
These are just a few of the adventures you can have if you become a member of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Ceremonial Unit. Girl Scouts in grades 3 to 12 are welcome to attend this Open House with one of their parents or caregivers to determine if they want to join this unique program. The girls will learn the proper care and handling of our flag while demonstrating their patriotism and honoring the Girl Scout Promise...to serve God and our country!

If you are outgoing and personable, willing to smile on cue and like being photographed or videotaped, then Media Girls might be for you.
Media Girls participate in different media opportunities for Girl Scouts of Nassau County, such as public service announcements, on-camera interviews, or perhaps photo-ops for the cover of a magazine or newsletter. Most importantly, you must be willing to tell the Girl Scout story in your own words.
If this sounds exciting, and you can be flexible when last-minute media events occur, come learn more at our information night.
During the information night, you will learn what it takes to be a member, what your commitment will be, and what the next steps are to Girl Scout stardom! This information night is mandatory in order to become a Media Girl.
Please register only your Girl Scout, as this is not a troop activity. One parent or caregiver per girl must attend. This year, 35 new girls will be added to the Media Girl program.
