Camp Like a Girl Scout Girl Scout camp is the perfect place for campers to explore their interests, gain new experiences, and grow into confident leaders.

Plus, they’ll have a blast and make amazing new friends! Every camp session is a one-of-a-kind experience; campers take the lead and enjoy their dream camp experience with support from professional trained staff. Visit gsema.org/camp to learn about our camp directors!

Campers are placed in groups of 4-24, with 2-5 staff per group. Overnight campers stay in cabins (6-10 campers), yurts (6 campers), tent-a-los (5 campers), or platform tents (4-6 campers) with cots/beds and mattresses. Each camp has shelter for rainy day activities, bathroom facilities, storage, and a health center.

All of our camps are accredited by the American Camp Association, and comply with state regulations governing summer camps and local licensing requirements. Not a Girl Scout yet?

If you would like to use your Cookie Credits for overnight camp Trading Post items (summer 2024), please mail it ahead of time to: GSEMA Summer Camp, Attn: Cookie Credits, 265 Beaver Street, Waltham, MA 02452. Cookie Credits will not be accepted at the overnight camp properties.

Be sure to preorder camp T-shirts and hoodies when you register for camp to ensure your camper gets the right size!

Youth sizes are only available for preorder.

To register for bus transportation, complete the Day Camp Transportation Form, which is available in your CampInTouch account, by May 1, 2024. What to pack for overnight camp: We suggest that families pack for camp in a plastic tote or large duffel bag rather than many small bags. It can be helpful to campers to pack complete outfits in Ziploc bags within their luggage. Please note: Campers may need to help move their luggage, so please pack accordingly.

Camp Like a Girl Scout

A Safe Summer Camp Experience When you register your Girl Scout for camp, you will begin receiving monthly emails from GSEMA with any updates about camp safety both prior to camp and while your Girl Scout is at camp. These updates will be in alignment with any requirements or recommendations established by the CDC, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the New Hampshire Department of Health, the American Camp Association, and Girl Scouts of the USA. Please be sure that your email address in CampInTouch is accurate. In addition to these emails, we will also communicate all camp updates on our website and social media.

Adherence to all safety procedures ensures that all campers get the summer camp experience of their dreams! Thank you in advance for helping us keep camp safe and fun.

Camp Like a Girl Scout Camp Safety Guidelines

Care of Mildly Ill Campers

We follow all safety and risk management guidelines set by the local, state, and federal boards of health, Girl Scouts of the USA, and the ACA. All of our camps are ACA accredited. Massachusetts camps comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (105 CMR 430.000), New Hampshire camps comply with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (He-C 4003 & 4004), and each camp is also licensed by the board of health of the town in which it is located.

A healthcare supervisor (HCS) staffs the camp health center and a healthcare consultant (local physician) is on call. Staff is responsible for reporting any signs of illness to the HCS, who assesses each situation, and may administer over-the-counter medications if authorized by the caregiver. The HCS will determine if the camper should be sent home or seen by the healthcare consultant, in which case arrangements are made with the oversight of the camp director. In both situations, caregivers are contacted as soon as possible.

Staff Selection, Screening, and Training

Campers with Special Needs

All staff are at least 16 years of age or high school graduates, and are selected based on their ability to work with youth, teach and share skills, and work as a team, as well as their commitment to Girl Scout values. We conduct thorough staff criminal background (CORI) and sexual offender (SORI) checks. Once hired, staff attend one to three weeks of training to bond as a team and gain skills in camping, risk management, safety, positive youth development, and interpersonal communication.

We make every attempt to offer summer camp opportunities to all youth who want to attend Girl Scout camp. We can accommodate most special needs and dietary restrictions/preferences. Please email customercare@gsema.org to arrange a meeting with a member of our camp team to discuss how we can make your camper’s experience exciting, appropriate, and fulfilling. The information you share with us will be held confidential, shared only as HIPAA allows, and in accordance with your wishes.

Day Camp Bus Transportation

Weapons, Drugs, and Smoking Policy

Campers taking the bus must be picked up at the selected bus stop by an authorized pick-up person.

We cannot accept notes from caregivers to have campers walk home from the bus stop alone. You can log into CampInTouch to update your list of those who are authorized to pick up your camper by May 1, 2024. Please include their names and phone numbers. Everyone picking up a camper from the bus must show a photo ID.

We do not permit recreational drugs, alcohol, pets, tobacco products, or weapons of any kind (e.g.

Swiss army knives, scissors, etc.) at camp. Campers who will need to take prescription medication while attending camp should bring them to camp in their original containers with their names on them, and turn them over to the bus monitor or healthcare supervisor upon arrival to the bus or camp.

Pre-Camp Health Assessment Required health forms are provided in the camper information packet (formerly confirmation packet) and are due by May 1, 2024. Campers are required to have a physical examination within the 12 months prior to their arrival at camp and health forms must be completed and signed by a physician each year.

Your Rights To comply with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local boards of health, we inform you that caregivers have the right to request a copy of our background checks policy, camp healthcare policies, and discipline policies, as well as policies for filing grievances. To make an appointment to do so, contact customercare@gsema.org.

Day Camp Assistant (DCA) I

Junior Counselor Program

Session 3: July 15-19 | $200 Session 5: July 29-August 2 | $200 Participate in advanced leadership training, then head out to the units to be a role model to Girl Scouts and share your love of camp! This program is available to those who have completed Program Aide Core Training and/or have completed Program Aide Training I and II at a GSEMA camp in a previous summer.

All applicants will be placed on a waitlist until a completed application and camp director approval are received.

Session 3A: July 15-26 | Free Session 5A: July 29-August 9 | Free What comes after being a Day Camp Assistant? The most fun internship ever! Join us at camp to get in-depth, on-the-job experience and training.

You will work with counselors in units and in specialized areas around camp. Available to those who have completed DCA I. An application will be sent to you in early May. All applicants will be placed on a waitlist until a completed application has been received. Girl Scouts will participate in an interview process, and the camp director will select qualified applicants. Applicants may not complete DCA 1 and the Junior Counselor Program in the same year.

Myths & Magic Wednesday April 17 Enjoy a day of fantasy fun! Find the hidden magic at camp by going on a dragon egg hunt, building homes for woodland creatures, and searching for forest gnomes. Come dressed to camp as your favorite fantasy creature or use your imagination to create a costume at camp.

Mystery Mayhem Thursday April 18 Calling all secret agents! Work as a team to collect clues for a secret mission. Create your own code name, make unique disguises, and decode secret messages to solve the camp mystery before the day is done.

Camptastic Friday April 19 Camp life is the best life! Get a taste of the classic Girl Scout camp experience while you learn camp songs, cook over a campfire, explore the camp property, and enjoy some outdoor adventure activities.

Behind the Scenes of Life-Saving Careers at Emerson Health

Thursday, April 18 Enjoy an exciting day at the World Shaving Headquarters and learn what it takes to bring consumers their favorite products—from the initial idea stage to the shelves of the stores that you shop at every day! In this program you will get hands-on experience in several areas related to consumer testing, sensory lab learning, and engineering of Gillette products. You will also take a tour of the P&G Gillette facility and learn about the amazing work that women across the company are doing to invent new products under the Procter and Gamble umbrella.

The women’s network of the World Shaving Headquarters will be your hosts for this event, and they can’t wait to show you the different types of work they get to do while working for this great company!

Friday, April 19 Calling all of healthcare's future heroes! Discover what it's like to work at a hospital or doctor's office, and learn more about the behind the scenes of patient care. Session 6: August 4-9 | $825 We all scream for ice cream! Cape Cod has so many ice cream shops to sample. Visit some local favorites, make your own ice cream back at camp, and enjoy classic camp activities including swimming, boating, arts and crafts, and more.

Survivor Session 3: July 14-19 | $825 Ready to take your outdoor skills to the next level? Master the art of the no-match fire, learn to build a shelter from fallen branches, and learn about edible plants. End your week with a sleep out to put your new skills to the test!

Pirate Palooza Session 6: August 4-9 | $825 Ahoy! Spend your week hunting for treasure using a map and a compass while boating on Long Pond in your own pirate ship. When you're not looking for buried treasure, enjoy other camp activities like archery, outdoor cooking, and swimming.

Rolling Along Session 1: June 30-July 5 | $875 Explore Cape Cod through the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Learn about bike safety, minor bike repair skills, and plan day trips with your group. Take breaks to go boating, make some art, and take aim at the archery range.

Setting Sail Session 1: June 30-July 5 | $925 Set your sails for a one-week adventure at camp. Go on a free sail with experienced sailing staff members and get an intro to the basics of sailing. Ocean Commotion Session 2C: July 7-19 | $1750 With 600 miles of unspoiled coastline, Cape Cod is the perfect place to learn about oceanography and marine biology, while also carving out time to lounge at the beach. Discover local sea life on the National Seashore through tide pooling, travel to Provincetown for a whale watch, and visit Woods Hole to learn more about the ocean wildlife.

Then, take part in a beach clean up to help ensure that the ocean stays clean and safe for all the sea life.

Sail Away Session 2C: July 7-19 | $1850 Session 5C: July 28-Aug. 9 | $1850 Learn to sail or sharpen the skills you already have! Work with your crewmates to sail the beautiful waters of Long Pond. Weather permitting, you will have nine formal sailing lessons with experienced instructors who will help you progress through our unique sailing program! You will be divided into units based on age, then placed into smaller sailing classes based on skill level. Work toward individual goals, culminating in an all-camp sailing race: the Long Pond Invitational.

You must be able to swim 50 meters and be comfortable in water over your head while wearing a personal flotation device.

Bike, Boats, and Bows Session 2: July 7-12 | $900 Enjoy a bit of everything at Camp Favorite! Explore the area surrounding camp while biking parts of the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Go out on the water with a free sail on Long Pond and paddle in a kayak. Finally, try to get a Golden Arrow on the archery range. Enjoy other fun camp activities like swimming, arts and crafts, and outdoor cooking.

Night Owls Session 3: July 14-19 | $825 Spend your week at camp learning about all that Camp Favorite has to offer after dark. Stargaze on the beach, learn about the science of night vision on a night hike, and plan a midnight glow dance party. Catch up on your sleep with an extra sleepin breakfast, and spend your days enjoying camp activities like archery and arts and crafts.

Day-Trippers Session 4: July 21-26 | $900 Become the ultimate day-tripper! Use Camp Favorite as your home base, spend a day on Martha’s Vineyard, go mini-golfing, and plan a third day filled with your choice of Cape Cod activities. Plus, enjoy all the fun camp has to offer!

The Great S’maco Bake-Off Session 4: July 21-26 | $825 Learn how to cook anything over a fire, including s’macos (s’mores tacos)! During this week you’ll try out different cooking and baking techniques, create your own recipes, and help younger campers learn how to cook. Play games on the boards, practice new moves, and challenge yourself with a larger sail. You must be able to swim 50 meters and be comfortable in water over your head while wearing a personal flotation device.

Artist Hub Session 5C: July 28-Aug. 9 | $1650 Spend two weeks exploring your creative side. Make cool creations with tie-dye, try sewing, and elevate your drawing skills. Show your inner creativity using unconventional materials. Let your inner artist come out in a variety of art projects, working up to a mural painted for all of camp to enjoy. In addition to making your own designs, travel off camp to visit local artisan and learn more about their crafts.

Into the Wild Session 5C: July 28-Aug. 9 | $1750 Be the ultimate survivor in this twoweek outdoor adventure! Learn the basics of outdoor survival, including shelter-making, orienteering, and fire-building with flint, steel, and even a bow drill. Embark on day hikes all around Cape Cod! Identify birds and plants as you walk through the Cape’s most beautiful landscapes. Go on a night hike around camp, then end your session off-camp with a multi-night camping excursion!

Entering Grades 9-12 Cape Cod Getaway Session 1: June 30-July 5 | $900 Soak up the sun in this week-long beach bash. Go swimming and windsurfing on Long Pond and enjoy a floating lunch at camp. Relax on a floaty or build an epic sand castle. Head off camp to explore the National Seashore, learn about the ocean life of Cape Cod, and end the week hosting a big beach party for all of camp to join in.

Windsurfing Session 1: June 30-July 5 | $900 Calling Seniors & Ambassadors to explore the waters of Long Pond in a new way! Learn to windsurf or improve your existing skills. Play games on the boards, practice new moves, and challenge yourself with a larger sail. You must be able to swim 50 meters and be comfortable in water over your head while wearing a personal flotation device.

Windjammers Session 2C: July 7-19 | $1800 Spend two weeks learning to windsurf or improve your existing skills. Play games on the boards, practice new moves on the pond, and try out sails of various sizes. At the end of the session, you’ll have a chance to race around a course in the traditional Long Pond Invitational.

You must be able to swim 50 meters and be comfortable in water over your head while wearing a personal flotation device.

Surfing Session 4: July 21-26 | $925 Grab a board and hit the waves!

Experience the sun and surf of the Cape Cod seashore during three lessons with a professional instructor. Surfing equipment will be provided; wetsuits will be available or you can bring your own.

In order to participate, you must be able to swim 50 meters AND be comfortable in water over your head without the aid of a personal flotation device.

Advanced Sailing Session 5C: July 28-Aug. 9 | $1850 Sail the waters of nearby Back Bay of Camp Favorite in our fleet of 420s.

Work to perfect your sailing skills and use a trapeze to go even faster.

This session is for experienced sailors looking to advance their skills and learn racing techniques. A Camp Favorite skill rating of Able Sea Person or higher (or equivalent) is required.

You should be confident operating a two-sail boat with minimal assistance.

A skills check will take place when you arrive to ensure correct level placement. You must be able to swim 50 meters and be comfortable in water over your head while wearing a personal flotation device.

You might even try for the 150-Mile Bike Club! You must be comfortable riding a bike for 10 miles on rail trails and roads. A bike and helmet will be provided or you can bring your own.

Counselor in Training (CIT) I Session 1D: June 30-July 19 | $1700 This three-week program is an opportunity for mature and qualified campers to work with children and receive on-the-job training.

The program includes training in age-level characteristics, group dynamics, leadership development, life skills, teaching techniques, group planning, and decision-making skills.

There will be many opportunities to practice your skills while working in units and special areas. CITs live and work in their own patrol under the guidance of a leadership specialist.

You must be able to attend all three weeks, but will return home during the session break weekend (July 5-7).

Skipper in Training (SIT) Session 1D: June 30-July 19 | $1800 This three-week program is an opportunity for mature and qualified sailing campers to work with children and receive on-the-job training. The first week campers will build their skippering skills and learn teaching technique. There will be many opportunities to practice your skills while working in units and special areas. The program includes training in age-level characteristics, group dynamics, leadership development, life skills, teaching techniques, group planning, and decision-making skills. SITs live and work in their own patrol under

the guidance of sailing staff. A Camp Favorite skill rating of Able Sea Person or higher (or equivalent) is required and previous completion of Advanced Sailing. You should be confident operating a two-sail boat with minimal assistance. You must be able to swim 50 meters and be comfortable in water over your head while wearing a personal flotation device. You must be able to attend all three weeks, but will return home during the session break weekend (July 5-7).

References are required, and the camp director will select qualified applicants.

All applicants are waitlisted until applications are reviewed and approved.

Thrill Seekers

Session 4: July 21-26 | $900 Head out on a two-night trip to experience the thrill of backpacking!

You’ll carry your tent and set up camp in the woods, enjoying the beautiful sights as you summit a new mountain or two. This is a Level 2 backpacking trip. Campers must have completed Hike and Hut, Trailblazers, or have equivalent experience to participate. Please note: route is subject to change based on weather and availability.

Session 1: June 30-July 5 | $900 Get an adrenaline rush during an adventurous week at camp.

Experience the thrill of the high ropes course at Runels. Then, try indoor skydiving and challenge yourself on a rock wall as you venture off camp for more thrills.

This program is not for the fainthearted!

Entering Grades 8-12 Mountain Trekkers Session 2C: July 7-19 | $1800 Experience the beautiful wilderness and explore areas only accessible by hiking. For this backpacking adventure you will plan the trek, pack the gear, lace up your boots, grab a backpack, and pitch the tents. The trip will be based on the experience level of the participants, up to three nights in length, and may be rigorous. You should be able to carry 25-30 pounds of weight and hike five to six miles a day. This is a Level 3 backpacking trip. You must have completed Backpackers, Mountain Dreams, or have equivalent experience to participate.

This program fulfills GSEMA Program Aide Training requirements for older campers interested in being a Day Camp Assistant.

Explore New England Session 6: August 4-9 | $900 There is so much to explore in New England. Brainstorm some ideas, plan a route, and load up the van as you head out on a two-night overnight excursion. The group will work together to choose new locations to visit. Who knows what you’ll see or where you’ll go!

Entering Grades 10-12 Wanderlust Session 3D: July 14-Aug. 2 | $2700 Dust off your hiking boots and dig out that backpack-you’ve got the skills and the stamina to create an amazing backpacking trip. Spend the first week at camp preparing and planning for the trip-with the support of your staff members. Plan out your route, prep the food, and gather your gear. You’ll head home for the weekend of July 19-21 before returning to camp to hit the trails.

This is a Level 5 backpacking trip.

Entering Grades 6-8 Anything Goes Session 1: June 30-July 5 | $825 Session 6: August 4-9 | $825 There are so many different possibilities to design a one-of-a-kind camp adventure. As a group, choose how to spend your time—from boating and arts and crafts, to high ropes, and archery—the choice is yours!

Kayak Attack Session 1: June 30- July 5 | $825 Do you just love kayaking? This special session is for kayakers of all levels. Learn the basics, attempt a wet exit, try re-boarding, and use various paddling maneuvers before the ultimate test of your skills with a kayak obstacle course on Gallows Pond.

Zoo Crew Session 2C: July 7-19 | $1800 For animal lovers of all sorts, this two-week program has it all. Learn about the animals in the area and do a shark dissection. Head off-camp to a zoo and aquarium to learn more about a variety of animals, both on land and in the water.

Paddlin’ Around Session 6: August 4-9 | $825 Spend your week on the water learning about different kinds of boats. Go kayaking, try stand up in a Corcl, go paddle boarding. You might even be able to meet Gertrude, our pond dragon!

Go paddle boarding and attempt yoga positions while balancing on the water! Kayak, Corcl, and canoe on Gallows Pond before testing your skills and teamwork in a boating obstacle course.

Session 4: July 21-26 | $900 This week is for thrill seekers of all kinds. Enjoy the thrills of camp from the high ropes course to the waterfront. Then, venture off to an amusement park to ride some rollercoasters and cool down by making your own ice cream.

Stressed Reversed

Session 5: July 28-August 2 | $825 Ready for the ultimate fantasy adventure? Spend the week doing all the activities from your favorite books. Fly down the zipline on a broomstick of your creation, channel your inner Katniss at archery, and go on a quest through camp. Write your own short stories and plan a dressup day for the whole camp.

Session 3: July 14-19 | $825 A delicious week of baking, garnishing, decorating, and tasting incredible desserts. Balance the sweets with healthy alternatives and enjoy all that camp has to offer.

On the Loose Session 4C: July 21-Aug. 2 | $1800 Join us for a two-week program exploring the lake and mountain regions of New Hampshire. Spend time at camp making friends and climbing the challenge course. Travel to New Hampshire to hike a section of the White Mountains and float down the Saco River. Finally, you will return to Camp Wind-in-the-Pines in time to share tales of your trip and sing songs by the campfire.

Fiction, Fantasy, and Fun!

Oh, Windy Camp Session 6: August 4-9 | $825 Visit Gallows Pond and create lasting memories at our Girl Scout rendezvous. Enjoy a floating campfire as the stars come out to shine, hearing your voices echo as you sing amongst the pines. Learn about some Girl Scout history and trade friendship bracelets with friends old and new. Lastly, give back to camp with a group community service project. Oh Windy, we love you!

Zip & Trip Session 6: August 4-9 | $900 Fly high on the ropes course and zoom down the zipline. Explore historic Plymouth and plan a trip filled with activities of your choosing. Plus, enjoy all the fun camp has to offer!

Counselor in Training (CIT) I

Counselor in Training (CIT) II

Session 1D: June 30-July 19 | $1700 This three-week program is an opportunity for mature and qualified young women to work with children and receive on-the-job training. The program includes training in age-level characteristics, group dynamics, leadership development, life skills, teaching techniques, group planning, and decision-making skills. There will be many opportunities to practice your skills while working in units and special areas. CITs live and work in their own patrol under the guidance of the Leadership Director. You must be able to attend all three weeks, but will return home during the session break weekend (July 5-7).

Session 4D: July 21-August 9 | Free For CIT I graduates: this is the most fun internship ever! Live at camp, work in units, and get in-depth, onthe-job experience and training. You will work with counselors in units and specialized areas around camp.

An application will be sent to you upon receipt of your regular camp registration. References are required, and the camp director will select qualified applicants. All campers are waitlisted until applications are reviewed and approved. You must be able to attend all three weeks, but will return home during the session break weekend (August 2-4).

Visit gsema.org/camp and click REGISTER. Create a CampInTouch account (or log into your existing account), select your choice of sessions, and pay the $50 deposit for each. ▶

We accept the following forms of payment: E-Check or credit card. E-Check will deduct camp fees directly from your checking or savings account, and can be used with payment plan options. There are no fees associated with E-Check payments.

Payments via credit card will incur a nonrefundable 3% credit card convenience fee.

Not a Girl Scout? Not a problem! Girl Scout membership is $50 and financial assistance is available. If your Girl Scout membership is not paid in full by May 1, 2024 your CampInTouch account will be charged $50.

How to Register and Pay Cancellations and Refunds

Financial Assistance

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Refunds of camp fees (not including the deposit) may only be made when written notice of cancellation and a request for refund is received at least four weeks prior to the start of the camp session by contacting customercare@gsema.org. No refunds are given for campers arriving late, leaving early, or unable to attend all or part of a session for reasons such as illness.

Financial assistance is available to those who otherwise would not be able to attend camp. So that we may meet the needs of as many campers as possible, you may only apply for assistance for a portion of one session of day or overnight camp.

Limited camp financial assistance is available only to campers living in a Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts community.

Inclement Weather: High ropes and water activities may be cancelled when weather and environmental (i.e bacterial) conditions are unsuitable. Alternative activities will be provided.

Refunds are not given when activities are cancelled due to inclement weather.

Program Cancellation: If a program is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, every effort will be made to place campers in a similar program. Camp sessions are held regardless of weather, but programs may be modified due to inclement weather.

The deposit is refundable if financial assistance is not approved.
