Awards and recognitions are a great way to pay tribute to our volunteers. We encourage parents, girls, volunteers, council staff and community members to submit a nomination recognizing our amazing volunteers! Awards are available to be presented at the troop, service unit and council level. Anyone can nominate a volunteer for a National Award, presented by the GSCP2P Borad of Directors at our Annual Meeting in the spring.

Juliette Low had a strand of rare matched pearls that she sold in 1914 to help pay the rent for the Girl Scout National Office in Washington, DC (the current headquarters are in New York). She was quoted as saying “Jewels are not important, but my Girl Scouts are, they need the money more than I need pearls." Juliette gave so much of herself to others that Girl Scouts has continued to grow from the first 18 Girl Scouts in Savannah in 1912 to our current membership of 2.6 million girls and adults. All volunteers who have served as a troop leader for 13 or more years are eligible for the Pearl of Leadership Pin. This pin honors their extended commitment to Girl Scouts and the impact they have made in the lives of girls.
Request your pin at bit.ly/3E27Um6.

Service Unit Camporees
What is a Service Unit Camporee? A camporee is defined as a camping experience hosted by a service unit that includes multiple troops from within the service unit. The event needs to be a minimum of 24 consecutive hours. A camporee is planned and carried out by a community of Girl Scouts- troops and adult volunteers- during which a minimum of two, all-camp activities are offered to bring together the service unit community. Activities might include earning a patch or badge verifying that the girls improved skills in a certain area, playing a variety of games, having a traditional campfire with skits and s’mores or doing a community service project!
Why have a Service Unit Camporee? Because it’s super fun! A Service Unit Camporee is a great way to get to know other troops, girls and volunteers from a given geographic area and help girls feel more connected to Girl Scouts of all ages beyond their individual troops.
Service units may submit a request through the online submission form at bit.ly/47XOmMl. Fall camporee dates must be submitted by the second Friday of March and spring camporee dates must be submitted by the last Friday of October.

Horse Clinics and Workshops
Circle C is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a Masterson Method Light to the Core Course November 23-24. In this course, you will learn subtle, gentle, simple bodywork that has the ability to profoundly affect the deepest interconnections of the horse’s body. The principle of staying under the bracing response of the horse is the foundation of Masterson Method bodywork. Light to the Core is the subtlest demonstration of this. This course is for any horse enthusiast; no knowledge of anatomy is required. Light to the Core is suitable and beneficial for students on up to the most experienced practitioners of The Masterson Method. This course is open to Girl Scouts ages 16+ and adult members. For more information and to register for the course, please contact circlec@girlscoutsp2p.org.
