COSM Weekly - Issue 1

The last of the Listening Sessions was held on Friday, Sept 22. I am currently compiling everything and will send out the unedited results via email later this week. Each session had 8-10 faculty and staff attend with a little more than 40 faculty and staff participating overall. For those that were unable to attend a listening session, I asked the attendees three questions: what are the top five things working well in COSM or their department?, what are the top five things not working well in COSM or their department?, and what are the top 5 things COSM should be working on in the next 12months?. We shared everyone’s individual answers to generate a more comprehensive list of items for each question. From the comprehensive lists, attendees were asked to select their top four items which provided some final prioritization to the results.

In addition to sending the unedited lists for review, I will include a synthesized list of items for each question that combines similar items and themes. This list will be used in a Qualtrics survey to all faculty and staff in COSM where you will be asked to select your top five items to each question. The results of this survey will be used by the leadership team to help guide our actions and efforts for the next 12 months. I hope to have the survey ready by the end of the month.
