Langbank Primary
Royal Statistical Society
P3-5 enjoyed a workshop with Eilidh and Craig from the Royal Statistical Society and University of Glasgow. They worked in collaborative groups to collect, sort and present data using bar and dot graphs. Our children were interested to learn more about their jobs as statisticians and the variety of topics you can explore such as health protection and climate change.

Music Technology with Sonappa
P5-7 worked with Stuart from Sonappa Music to develop composition skills in music technology. They worked in small groups learned how to use the app, Garageband, to create their own piece of music. Our children enjoyed the trial and error approach and created some excellent pieces of music which could have you up dancing, or help you to relax. We are looking forward to further developing our digital skills in this area in 2023.
Christmas Shows
We were delighted to invite our school community to watch our P1-4 Christmas shows. The staff and children worked hard during rehearsals on both drama and music skills. P1/2 presented their nativity ‘Hey Ewe!’ and P3/4 presented their Christmas show ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ and both shows were spectacular! We raised money for school funds through a successful raffle and thank you to local businesses for their generous prizes too.

Duchal Nursery
It has been a busy start to the new year as we launch our “People who help Us” topic. Each week we will discover and explore how different people help us. Whether that be setting up our own doctors surgery, police station, or vets, it is guaranteed the children will use their imagination to the full.
Despite the wet and windy weather, we have not been deterred in our aim to be outside as much as possible. We have incorporated our learning while out and about, with our recent number search as we walked around the park. It is amazing how many different places you can find numbers, keep your eyes peeled next time you are on a walk. It really is a fantastic way to re-enforce number recognition, why not add letter and shapes to your adventures too! We are looking forward to our Chinese New Year celebrations as we welcome in the Year of the Rabbit, as well as discovering more about Robert Burns and exploring more about our Scottish celebrations.
