Celebrating Our High Street Heroes The Scotland Loves Local campaign has been celebrating our High Street Heroes. The awards recognise the people, businesses and local organisations who have gone above and beyond to support their communities during the coronavirus restrictions. High Street Heroes also celebrates those who have helped local shops and high streets to be innovative, resilient, and to operate in a safe and welcoming manner. The list of Scotland’s High Street Heroes has now been announced and there are a number of our local names on the list. All those nominated have received formal recognition as High Street Heroes. In addition, a small number of entries from each local authority area were awarded Regional Champion and Highly Commended awards, including receipt of an award certificate. The Scotland Loves Local awards review team were humbled by the extent of public support shown for their High Street Heroes, with over 1,200 nominations received for around 600 individuals, businesses and local groups who had made a positive – and often crucial – difference to their community during difficult circumstances for all. They are fantastic examples of the spirit of the Scotland Loves Local campaign, and receive our heartfelt thanks.
