Ladies Day
Congratulations to our Club Champions 2018 On Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August 2018, our finalists battled it out over several rounds on an immaculately presented golf course at Kilmacolm Golf Club. The competition was fierce and the standard of golf on display was nothing short of spectacular. With many matches going the full distance, it made for a great spectacle of our sport. With the numbers whittled down, Sunday saw the final matches of this year’s tournament being bravely contested. In the men’s final we had Andrew Farmer playing Stuart Gray. This was an engrossing match that went all the way to the 18th where this year’s Champion, Andrew Farmer, emerged victorious. Well done Andrew on your 11th Club Championship victory. Our Ladies matches were just as keenly contested and Sunday played host to a fantastic match between Romy Erskine and Megan Briggs. The quality of golf was of an exceptionally high standard and the lead changed hands throughout the match. Megan managed to emerge victorious this time and is again our Club Champion for 2018. Romy played excellent and is definitely one to watch in the next few years. Congratulations Megan! Not to be outdone, our Junior matches were as exciting to watch as the senior matches. On Sunday, the field had been narrowed to the final match between Mackenzie Holmes and Harry Kellock. A phenomenal advert for Junior golf was watched by the many spectators that turned up on the day to offer support and after a great match, Mackenzie managed to get across the line to become the Junior Champion of 2018. Well Done Mackenzie! Thank you to everyone who helped organise and support our finals. Special thanks to the Greens staff for presenting the course in great condition, the catering team for keeping everyone fed and watered and to the office staff for pulling everything together. Our events wouldn’t be a success if it was not for the selfless support of many Members and a massive thanks is owed to the volunteers that helped make it such a fantastic weekend. Heres to 2019!
