Port Glasgow High School Record Breaking Exam Results at Port Glasgow High School Staff and pupils were delighted to return back for the new session with the positive news the school has secured the best examination results in its history, with attainment improving at all levels and record breaking percentages of pupils passing National 5, Higher and Advanced Highers. There were some individual and group successes which the school was particularly pleased to celebrate. A group of eight S4 pupils were presented for their Higher qualification in Music a year early – and all secured A passes at Higher level. A large group of S4 pupils also secured straight As in their National 5 qualifications and the largest number ever secured five Highers in S5 and Advanced Higher in S6. Head Teacher Stuart Clark praised pupils and staff on their return, commenting: “There are so many examples of individual achievement, hard work and perseverance in these excellent results. It is fantastic to see the hard work of our S4 pupils who sat their Higher qualification a year early all being rewarded with A grade qualifications. Well done!” PGHS pupils wow the crowds at the Euro Championships It was an honour for pupils of Port Glasgow High School’s Music Department to be asked to perform on the Main Stage at Go Live on the Green as part of the European Championships. A number of soloists, ensembles and the school’s Concert Band performed a set which was very well received.

What a wonderful start to the new term we have had. It has been lovely to welcome the new children to our Duchal family and to see our older children embracing their new role mentoring them! We were delighted to launch our Summer Holiday Activity Camps that were held during June and August. These were hugely successful and enjoyed by all that attended and offered parents greater options for childcare during the holiday period.
