EDITOR’S NOTE

It’s amazing how fans can do wonderful things for the love of their idols. I myself did not realize this until I read the entirety of the magazine prior to its publication. And as the magazine’s editor-in-chief and Growling Pautlongs member, I couldn’t be more proud.

In this issue, we will discover how Growling Pautlongs (GP) and its flagship project, Barangay GP Radio, came to be. Members from all over the archipelago will also take you to a tour of their respective hometowns without leaving your place.

We will also get to know more about the common force behind all of GP’s endeavors -- SB19’s leader John Paulo Nase, better known as Sejun. We’ll uncover more of his journey towards being one of the pioneers behind PPop’s worldwide recognition, his fashion and music choices, and the reasons why his fans are drawn towards him.

Add in a few more visual and literary works by GP members, and you got a fun-filled issur that every Sejun fan will be proud of. We hope that you enjoy this issue as much as everyone from the editorial team and the contributors enjoyed putting this up for you.

The History of Barangay GP Radio 0838: Kaya Mo ‘To! Written by Papa Geoff (@geoffbits) Resident DJ of Barangay GP Radio

I

t was barely two weeks since the Enhanced Community Quarantine has been implemented throughout the country, and as expected, most of us locked ourselves at homes and turned our focus more on gadgets and devices. The A’TIN Community, including Sejun stans from Growling Pautlongs (GP), was no exception.

And, as they say, when boredom strikes, you tend to do something which turns out to be either absurd or creative.

Growling Pautlongs was headed to the second one.

One fine Sunday night of March 30, 2020, everyone was just chatting as usual through Telegram, the main platform of most of A’TIN groups. Out of nowhere, some of us started to play over the Voice Messaging (VM) function of the app, recording their messages instead of typing what they had in mind. With so much fun over this available function, I started recording messages too. But, instead of normal messages, I began mimicking the voice of a disc jockey doing his regular radio job during his own segment. Inspired by the popular program “Wanted Sweetheart” of Barangay LS 97.1, I used the background music being played during that program and made an opening spiel as if I were on-air.

Everyone started to react with joy and excitement with this kind of flow. After sending a few VMs, someone told me that GP member Jess (@jessdfangirl) has a voice suited for a radio program, and asked me if I can have a “segment” with her. I agreed, of course, because every one of us is now enjoying and at the same time exploring this “new discovery” on Telegram. Therefore, we created a mock segment called “Wanted Hotdog,” a program wherein the two of us will answer some questions about love and give love advice to those who need it. To make our segment more realistic, we gave ourselves names. I called myself “Papa Geoff ” and Jess was called “Mama Jess.”

And so we “ran” the program on Telegram, exchanging voice messages one after another so that everyone can just tap the recorded messages and listen to them as if they’re listening to a real radio. Everyone the group chat couldn’t contain their exhilaration as we continued sending VMs. In fact, they’re really attached to the idea that they were even sending us private messages about love and their crushes.

And I, as Papa Geoff and Jess as Mama Jess gave our best to answer them as realistic as possible. That two-hour “run” flew so fast, as everyone is delighted with this newly found gem.

After this, the so-called “KuysBombs” of GP, composed of myself, Kuys Jeboy (@nasejunstan_) and Kuys Lyle (@ ravenZero92) thought of an idea: what if we build an internet radio station dedicated to GP where everyone can enjoy music together and listen to segments hosted by DJs? Of course, we were not the first A’TIN fanbase to conceive this, as a similir concept has been launched by our brotherhood group KUYSB19, through their KUYSB Radio. Instead, we took inspiration from them and started borrowing the idea of having our own radio station for GP. And this was the beginning.

We spent a few days planning on how this will be launched. We considered what were needed – the platform to be used, what the segments will be, the creation of stingers, onboarding of DJs, and how to play music where everyone can listen together. Another factor considered

was the accessibility and how we can request songs, post announcements, and interact with the listeners realtime. As previously mentioned, KUYSB Radio has been on-air during that time, and they were using the gaming app Discord to air their segments and play music. We took the same road as theirs, and started working on the essentials of a radio station from there. First off, we thought of a name. There were two factors on how the current name of the radio station was born. One, since we took inspiration from Wanted Sweetheart of Barangay LS 97.1, we thought of using the word “Barangay.” So, we initially called it “Barangay GP Radio.” Then I suggested that we should have a radio tagline. I thought: since we are Growling Pautlongs, we jokingly say that the group’s theme song is “Jumbo Hotdog” by the Filipino muscular group Masculados. There was a line in that song asking, “Kaya Mo Ba ‘To?” and I thought we could answer it with “Kaya Mo ‘To.” Therefore, we added that line. One more thing, usually radio stations have their frequency numbers, like 97.1 or 101.9. We decided to use the now famous 0838, because erm… only an A’TIN knows it. Finally, we were able to complete the name of the radio station, and so Barangay GP Radio 0838: Kaya Mo ‘To! was born.

Kuys Jeboy, who eventually became DJ Jeb Jeb, used the skill he learned college to do voice work and created the stingers customized for the radio station. Kuys Lyle, who was known as DJ Lyle during the initial broadcast, helped with the conduct of test broadcasts on Discord and suggested some ideas on how the Discord works. For my part, I was in-charge of the programming line-up. I can still remember the joy we couldn’t contain while doing test broadcasts and checking the audio and technical stuff just to make sure that everything was working. This project was “under construction” without the knowledge of the GP admins, collectively knows as the ZerBombs, because we wanted to surprise them with this activity. After a few days, we decided to set the official launch of Barangay GP Radio on Saturday, April 4, 2020. The night before its official launch, we sent a message to the Zerbombs and announced that we were launching a radio station dedicated to GP. Each of them were filled with excitement when they learned of the news. From there we discovered that Jeng (@sb19binibini) also has the skill to be a DJ. So we invited her to be part of the DJ roster. And so, there were five DJs in the roster before the GP Radio launch: Papa Geoff, Mama Jess, DJ Jeb Jeb, DJ Lyle, and DJ Jeng (who eventually became Binibining Jeng). After revealing the project to the ZerBombs, we asked permission if this is fine with them. We even asked if we could announce it to the rest of GP members; and without hesitation, they gave us their full support and approval. And it happened,

we announced the project to the rest of GP members, and an overwhelming support was given to us. They couldn’t wait to connect and listen to the newest addition to the GP family, the fulfilment of our dream to have our own radio channel, which we planned to go on-air during weekends where everyone has spare time available to listen to us.

Saturday, April 4, 2020, the day every GP member is waiting for. We announced the project through the official Twitter account of GP, with tagline “BrgyGPRadio OfficialLaunch” (which even peaked on Twitter Philippines at #11 on that day). Every GP member was tweeting about this project and couldn’t contain their enthusiasm as we were waiting for its official launch. At exactly 12:00 noon, everyone tuned in to Discord, and heard the Lupang Hinirang being played first (yeah, just like a real radio). Then the official stinger was played for the first time. The Discord main chat was filled with anticipation as the first segment was called “OPM sa Barangay GP,” which we first played all SB19 songs and other popular OPM songs and aired for two hours. All three Kuys DJs were very busy during that day, as we were taking song requests, posting pinned announcements, and queuing the music and commercials. I wasn’t even able to take lunch properly on that day! Then the next segments came: Dear Papa Geoff (a letter reading segment), Request Mo, Play Ko! (a request-based segment), Balitang Barangay (news segment), Kanto 10: Top Hits sa Barangay (the countdown segment), Videoke sing together), and Hugot Barangay (the “saksak-puso-tulo-ang-dugo” segment of playing “mapanakit” songs). We finished at 3 am during initial broadcast, and everyone were tired but contented because of its successful launch.

The next day came, April 5, wherein another set of programming was slated. And of course, Wanted Hotdog, dubbed as “the program that started it all,” finally found its new home on Barangay GP Radio. Still hosted by me and Mama Jess. We couldn’t forget the first time we went on board through Discord because unlike in Telegram where we had to listen first to the recording before we could answer, here on GP Radio through Discord we could now hear each other’s voice and exchange conversations real-time, just like what real radio DJs do.

Of course, we thought that this weekend project will be short-lived. It was born during the time of pandemic, where everyone couldn’t go outside and are stuck inside their homes. We even came to a point wherein only 1 or 2 listeners were staying to listen. We even gave it only a month to live, because if the crisis is over, what will happen to Barangay GP? We were aware of the possibility that this will eventually come to the end. Therefore, we’ll just enjoy it while it’s there.

But time and destiny have its own way. We celebrated our first monthsary. We gave birth to new segments, and new DJs went on board to be part of the GP Radio family. We had our own share of moments here: we had Special Coverage segments such as the SB19 Mention Parties (MenPas), celebrated birthdays and more GP Radio monthsaries, mounted virtual concerts, opened the GP Radio to non-GP members by request, and now becoming an instrument to bridge connectivity and closeness to every A’TIN through interviews and games. While other radio channels are starting to become inactive, Barangay GP Radio continues to go on-air and as of this writing, we just celebrated our 4th Monthsary of continuous weekend programming.

As the number of listeners continue to grow (as of this writing, there are now 153 user subscribed to the radio channel, and still receiving inquiries on how to listen to us), more changes and innovations are now starting to become useful to them. For example, the segment GP x A’TIN Connect is a platform wherein an A’TIN is being interviewed so that listeners can have a chance to know how that A’TIN started his journey as a fan of SB19. This is currently one of the segments with highest number of listeners across all programs of GP. The letter reading segments DPG: Dear Papa Geoff, DMJ: Dear Mama Jess and Faith Talk with DJ Kev continue touching the hearts of every “kabarangay” not only about love, but also about how one becomes stronger as he or she faces the realities of life. Even fun segments such as Asya-Asya Tayo (a segment where Asian songs are being played, i.e. K-Pop, J-Pop, C-Pop and T-Pop), and the newest game show Kabarangay: Deal or No Deal (hosted by the lovable DJ Pachi from KUYSB Radio) are attracting audience share.

Now, as we look back to the humble beginnings of Barangay GP Radio, we can’t help but be emotional and at the same time proud for embarking on this project, all for the love of GP, A’TIN and SB19. Everyone who is behind this venture are pouring their hearts out for free, without expecting any monetary return. Even listeners offer their assistance to make Barangay GP Radio a better station to listen to. It’s the love, passion and desire to share talent that keeps the engine of Barangay GP Radio up and running, and is now being recognized as the flagship project of Growling Pautlongs (and currently the only active radio station in A’TIN Community). We may not know how long this will last, but as we only live once, we enjoy it to the fullest.

All things must come to an end, as they say, and if the end of the road is near, we will hold our head up high proudly saying that all the efforts we gave in this assignment are totally worth it, and “kinaya namin ito!” (we made it!). ~

TOUCH OF SEJUN

Aside from singing, dancing and rapping, Sejun is also a great composer.

Behind those lyrics and arrangements of their sound-breaking songs, is a touch of him. He wrote their own songs and masterpieces, together with the ideas of his fellow members. He also wrote some of his unreleased songs entitled “Kumunoy”, “Kelan”, etc. According to him in an interview, he can write a song (with the tune of course, using his guitar) within two days, just like their single for our dear frontliners entitled “ikako”.

All of us sang and got hyped with their cover of Michael Pangilinan’s Bakit Ba Ikaw on All Music MYX, but little did we know, Sejun did the vocal arrangement, harmony and line distribution. They also inserted rap and hyped the song 10x!

No wonder it gained 1.6 Million views as of today’s writing.

HEART TO HEAR

He also did some short song covers along with his guitar. He can also sing without any musical support or autotune. He always proves this just like when he does his short cover of ‘emo’ songs including “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”

Recently, he did a cover of “Turn It Off ” by Paramore and got noticed by Ms. Hailey Nichole Williams, who is the vocalist of the said band, on Twitter. She didn’t just retweet Sejun’s cover but also praised him on how good his voice and his cover was. After being noticed, Sejun got featured on many articles and on television news; both local and international.

DIVERSE: A WIDE RANGE OF MUSIC

Based on his playlist in a music platform, he loves listening to classic, alternative rock, pop, hiphop, opm, rap and ballad music. According to a survey I conducted, our fellow hotdogs describe Sejun’s taste in music using one word - DIVERSE. Because he is an artist, I think he is open to all genres of music to explore and try something new to get out of his comfort zone.

According to a research, his music inspirations are his parents, Paramore, Gloc-9, Loonie and NF, especially.

Sejun is not too vocal unlike other artists in expressing what’s in his mind so he executes or tells it through music. Just like how his ‘famous’ Facebook post says; “When WORDS FAIL, MUSIC SPEAKS.”

HIM - A MUSIC INSPIRATION

Sejun’s dream is to become a singer/performer that’s why we can see how passionate he is when it comes to the music industry. From the lyrics, beats, and melodies, you can’t tell how much effort and dedication he puts to make his craft perfect. No wonder everyone loves his music and his works.

Therefore I believe that Mr. John Paulo Nase is a great music inspiration to many.

A’TIN EXPERIENCE

his whole experience is a pinnacle of multiple challenges or should I say last year, dated exactly at November 26, 2019.

Kinda embarrassing but I do hope you’re reading this (Yes, I am referring to Sejun).

Around the end of November, SB19 went to Jeju Island for their Aja Aja Tayo Shoot. At that time, most of the members, except our dearest pinuno Sejun posted an update on their social media accounts.

Of course, as a desperate Sejun biased, I decided to jokingly tweet about wearing a hotdog costume if Sejun will ever post an update before the month ends.

On that same day, an ongoing MENPA with Stell was happening on twitter. I participated in that Menpa and tweeted Stell to inform John Paulo about my hamon. And to my surprise, Stell responded to that tweet.

That’s when things started to get serious and the thought of wearing the costume has not sunk in to me yet. I was just joking back then.

All hell broke loose when three days later, Sejun tweeted a comma.

Multiple people tagged me about that tweet, and kept reminding me that I should pursue the challenge.

Time skipped to December 31, and I tweeted him again with this:

Of course, Sejun, as a sneaky bastard, liked the tweet. Thanks man, I appreciate the support for my eternal embarrassment. Same day, I ordered my costume and everyone was pumped for CDO Con.

January 11, 2020 is my most exciting but embarrassing day perhaps, that’s the concert day. I went early since I am also an admin for the Guild of A’tin CDO Chapter. I did not wear my costume yet, for obvious reasons that I might get too flustered and embarrassed. After I got my concert tickets, I waited for my friends and around 12:00 I was called to help set up our fan project inside LKK Atrium. That’s when I decided that I should wear the costume immediately or else I might not have enough time to change clothes. Funny story though, I was called “Jolly Hotdog” when I passed by a local food chain. I swear to God, I could feel all eyes were on me. There were even people coming up to me to take a photo with them, as if I were a mascot but it was fine as I had fun.

I went to the rehearsals though and it was bad ‘cause I think the boys did see me enter the Atrium wearing a stupid costume, even Tatang Robin laughed. It was supposed to be a surprise.

Anyways let’s jump to the actual concert. I was noticed by SB19 and Sejun called me “Anlaki ng hotdog oh.” I was losing it that time just by laughing and smiling so much. Stell even thought I was swerving since I put up the sign “Stell andito na ako.” But that was actually a callback since Stell knew from MENPA that I was going.

In the end, I got my “I love you too” from Sejun, and the entire concert experience was a blast. And also, before I went home, I recorded a video of myself dancing to Jumbo Hotdog while wearing the costume and since then, people remember me because of that (even the Growling Pautlongs made it like it’s our official dance choreography, lmao).

At least when I get older, I got to say a cool-odd story about me wearing a costume to a concert.

H

indi ko alam na ganito pala ang magmahal. Walang pinipiling panahon, oras at edad. Kapag talaga mahal mo yung tao, kahit gaano pa karaming pagsubok at hadlang ay gagawa ka talaga ng paraan para malagpasan.

Sa edad kong ito hindi ko inaasahan na mapapakasalan ko yung taong mahal ko.

Pinanganak ako ng i-celebrate niya ang kaniyang ika-7 na kaarawan.

Grade 5 ako nung magdebut siya at maging isang ganap na dalaga. Sa sobrang ganda niya nung debut niya, halos lahat ng tao ay hindi maalis ang tingin sakaniya at aminado ako na isa ako doon.

18 years old ako nung grumadweyt ng Senior High School, habang siya ay grumadweyt na din ng kolehiyo. Nung makita ko ang larawan niya suot ang togang itim ay lalo akong namangha sakaniya.

Napaka-ideal siya sa lahat ng babaeng nakilala ko, maganda, matalino at talaga namang mamamangha ka sakaniya.

Grumadweyt ako ng kolehiyo habang siya—siya ay engage na sa edad na 24. Kita ko kung gaano siya kasaya nung lumuhod sakaniya ang lalaking pinakamamahal niya.

Nakapasa ako ng board exam habang siya ay ikinakasal. Halong saya at lungkot yung nararamdaman ko, masaya dahil oo–sa wakas nakapasa ako! Malungkot dahil, wala na. Nakatali na siya sa iba.

Kasabay nang pagradweyt ko sa masteral ang pagsilang niya sa anak niya. I was 25 back then while she was 27.

Kitang kita mo din ang ganda ng anak niyang nagmana sakaniya.

29 years old, sa apat na taon na yon natapos ko ang doctoral degree ko when her daughter uttered her first word...

“I love you.”

Oo, a 25 years gap. Saksi ang lahat ng tao sa loob ng simbahan na ito, nasa harap ko ngayon ang babaeng papakasalan ko. I can’t believe that I am marrying the daughter of my first love. Bago kami umabot sa ganito, marami kaming sinakripisyo at pinagdaanan. Lahat ng masasakit na salita, sinalo namin.

“Paulo, alam mong mahal na mahal kita. Kahit ano pang sabihin ng ibang tao, patuloy kitang mamahalin. Kahit pa maraming tutol o umayaw saatin, wala akong paki-alam basta ikaw at ako. Hanggang sa huli...” sabi niya habang binibitawan ang mga salita na iyan sa harap ng altar ngayon.

“Ikaw lang ang pinakatamang desisyon na ginawa ko. Mahal na mahal kita, ikaw lang at wala nang iba. Walang kahit na anong edad ang makakapigil sa ating dalawa. Mahal kita...”, sabi ko sabay angat ng belo na nakatakip sa kaniya at siniil siya ng halik.

Ngayon, kasal na kami. Dalawampu’t lima na siya, samantalang ako ay limampu na. Ang pagmamahal, walang pinipiling oras, panahon, edad, kasarian at estado. Basta mahal mo, mahalin mo lang ng mahalin hanggang sa kaya mo. Doon masusukat ang tunay na pagmamahal. ~ 21/ 1ONE ~

Anim na buwan.

“Hoy Jules, nakikinig ka ba?”

Isang taon.v Napakabilis lang ng mga araw, pawang mga malabong larawan lang na kumupas ang mga pangyayari.

Nagmistulang mga anino ang lahat ng tao sa aking paligid.

Maliban sa isang alaala, isang taon na ang nakalipas.

Isang alaala na parang kahapon lang nangyari, dahil sa kabila ng lahat ay sariwa parin sa aking isipan ang bawat detalye. Kung paano lumiwanag ng madilim na gabi dahil sa ngiti niya. Kung paano unti-unting napalitan ng hikbi ang kanyang tawa. Kung ano ang mga salitang kaniyang binitawan.

“Ginawa ko naman ang lahat para maibalik ang pagmamahal na pinaparamdam mo sakin, pero kahit anong gawin ko hindi kita magawang mahalin. Kaya tama na, pinapalaya na kita. Sana patawarin mo din ako kasi may mahal na akong iba.”

Ah, may mahal na pala siyang iba. Si Leo, ang kaibigan kong halos ituring ko nang kapatid. Naalala ko din kung paano ang pagbitaw niya sa kamay ko. Kung paano siya naglakad palayo at kung paano ako nagmistulang naging paralisado sa kinatatayuan ko. Hinayaan ko lamang siyang lumayo....at mapunta sa bisig ng iba. Kitang-kita ko kung paano niya niyakap ang lalaki na parang ito ang pinakaligtas na lugar sa buong mundo. Niyakap din siya nito pabalik. Ako? Nanatili paring walang kibo kahit gustong-gusto kita hilahin palayo sa kanya. Biglang naging ordinaryong karakter nalang ako sa aking sariling istorya, at kayong dalawa na ang bagong bida. Pero ano ‘bang magagawa ko? Bumitaw ka na.

Sa isang iglap ay tila nawala na ang kulay ng mundo.

Nawala ang liwanag ng buwan at mga bituin. Pakiramdam ko ay umuuulan na may kasamang kulog at kidlat. Untiunting nagdilim ang aking paningin at ang pigura nilang dalawa na magkahawak ang huli kong nakita.

Matapos no’n ay sinubukan kong magpatuloy sa buhay.

Ngunit parang may kulang na hindi ko matukoy kung ano. Hindi ko na magawang maging masaya. Tuwing ipipikit ko ang aking mata, yung gabing iyon lang ang naaalala ko. Kahit saan magpunta, tanging iyon parin ang nakikita. Lungkot. Poot. Pangungulila. Pero ang pinakamatindi sa mga nararamdan ko ay ang galit sa

“Mukhang walang kwenta lang ang pagbisita ko sayo dito. Wala ka paring pinagbago. Kalimutan mo na siya, ‘tol” May mga bagay na madali lang sabihin pero ang hirap gawin, tulad ng paglimot. Hanggang ngayon ay may puwang parin sa puso ko para sa kanya. Kung sakaling bumalik, handa akong tanggapin siya. Hihintayin ko parin siya. Pero may bumabagabag parin sakin.

“Umulan ba?” tanong ko.

“Kaya siguro ako nakajacket ngayon no kasi hindi maulan sa labas” pamimilosopo niya Gusto ko siyang batukan pero masyadong mabigat ang mga nasa kamay ko.

“Hindi...nung gabing ‘yon” “Nandun ka, Jules. Imposibleng hindi mo alam. Pero ‘di umulan nong gabing iyon..”

Pero kumulog at kumidlat nun sa alaala ko.

“Isang minuto nalang Jules, kailangan ko na umalis.

Hindi na ako babalik pa” usal niya nang hindi ako nagsalita ulit. Wala na akong pakialam kung babalik pa ‘to o hindi. Siya lang ang hinihintay ko.

“Sigurado ka bang wala ka nang gustong sabihin?

Tatanungin mo lang kung umulan?” Napabuga siya ng hangin at may bahid ng pagkainis sa kanyang boses.

Tumayo na siya at nagsimula nang maglakad palayo.

“Pakisabi naman kay Shane na dalawin ako” parang bulong na ani ko pero sakto lang para marinig niya.

Natigilan siya. Hindi maipinta ang mukha niya nang humarap siya muli sa akin.

SHORT STORY

Porselana Sulat ni Binibining Jeng

“Manang Prima, pinaaabot ho ni Lolo Nando” marahang sabi ni Tala sa matandang si Manang Prima.

kaniyang dibdib. “Tala, ipagpaumanhin mo ngunit hindi ka maaaring tumungo sa parteng ito.”

Batid sa mukha ng matanda ang pagkagulat nang makita niya ang isang pamilyar na kahon na iniabot ng dalaga.

Itinago niya ito sa kaniyang daster kahit may kalakihan at dali-daling pumasok sa loob.

Hinawakan ni Manang Prima ang braso ng dalaga ngunit hindi ito umiimik. Tila ba nahipan ito ng hangin at napako ang kaniyang tingin sa plorera. Ilang segundo pa ay humugot ng malalim na hininga ang dalaga at iniusal, “Mahilig rin ho kayo sa butonsilyo?”

“Manang Prima, ano ho bang laman ng kahon?” nagtatakang tanong ni Tala.

Ibinaling muli ni Manang Prima ang kaniyang atensyon sa dalaga. “Halika, Hija! Baka gusto mong mag merienda?

Nagluto ako ng puto at kutsinta. Matagal na kasi akong nangungulila sa lasa.”

Inihakbang ni Tala dahan-dahan ang kaniyang mga paa sa lumalaginit na munting tahanan ni Manang Prima.

Inilibot niya ang kaniyang mga mata sa pag-asang makahahanap siya ng sagot kung bakit ayaw sabihin ni Manang Prima ang laman ng kahon. Hindi ito maalis sa kaniyang isipan.

Bahagyang inilapag ni Manang Prima ang kakanin sa lamesa. Bangong-bango rito ang dalaga.

Habang patuloy na ngumunguya si Tala ay hindi maalis sa kaniyang loob ang kahon at ang kakaibang saya na nadarama niya habang kinakanin ang kakanin na gawa ng matanda.

“Tala, may iba bang nasabi ang Lolo Nando mo bago ka niya papuntahin dito?” napaisip nang malalim ang dalaga at maya-maya’y umiling.

Tumayo si Tala nang makita ang isang mamahaling plorera na nakapatong sa tabi ng napakagandang porselanang bahilya. Lumapit siya rito at nagsimulang makaramdam ng napakabigat na damdamin.

Agad napatayo si Manang Prima nang marinig niya ang mahinang singhal ng dalaga. Hawak din nito ang

Napako na rin sa kinatatayuan si Manang Prima. Ni wala nang bakas ng butonsilyo ang kaniyang plorera kaya malalim ang pagtataka niya kung paano ito nalaman ng dalaga.

Paborito ni Manang Prima ang butonsilyo dahil madalas itong ibinibigay sa kaniya ng dating kasintahang si Pablo.

Pinaglulutuan din siya nito ng paborito niyang pochero.

Masagana ang pag-iibigan ng dalawa noon hanggang sa dumating ang araw na binalot ng dilim at dugo ang kanilang pagsasama. Tinamaan ng ligaw na bala si Pablo at matapos noon ay wala nang balita sa kaniya si Prima.

Sa sobrang bigat ng nadarama ng dalawa sa mga oras na iyon ay hindi sinasadyang natabig ni Tala ang porselanang bahilya dahilan upang tuluyang bumuhos ang luha ng dalaga.

Nasulyapan niya ang repleksyon sa bahilya.

“Prima! Ako si Prima, ako ikaw Manang Prima! Ako ikaw!” gulong-gulo ang dalaga sa bawat piraso ng ala-alang magkasama sila ng kasintahang si Pablo na nagpakikita sa kaniyang balintataw.

Tumakbo si Tala sa lugar kung nasaan ang kahon. Kasabay ng pagbukas niya rito ay ang pag-ihip ng napakalakas na hangin.

Inangat ni Tala ang piraso ng retratong nasa loob at naroon ang larawan nila ng kasintahang si Pablo.

“Lolo…” mahinang turan niya.
