In the United States, there are approximately 61.6 million caregivers providing care at home for family members. With an increasingly aging population, the role of the caregiver becomes an even more important one, both functionally and economically. Caregiving is the ultimate act of love. It requires strength, commitment, and sound judgment. Caregivers bear a tremendous responsibility. Phelps Hospital’s Care
nwh_constellation_02 Connections Program and the Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services are collaborating to offer caregivers emotional support, counseling, and the resources necessary to navigate the health care system free of charge. If you need a shoulder to lean on; a good listener to hear your voice; assistance in identifying and addressing health system barriers; an unbiased intermediary to facilitate communication between you and your care recipient; or a linkage to community resources, a care navigator is available to assist you. nwh_constellation_03
