Get Familiar with the Lost Sierra ※ Lake Davis is less than 5 miles north of Grizzly Ranch on Grizzly Road. ※ Lakes Basin Recreation Area, full of dozens of lakes and hiking trails as well as the Sierra Buttes is 25 miles southwest off of Golf Lake Highway which begins between Graeagle and Clio on Hwy 89. ※ Blairsden & Graeagle are 15 miles west off of Hwy 70, and 18 miles via the A15 (through Portola) for a more scenic route. ※ Plumas Eureka State Park is located near Johnsville, just west of Graeagle and is home to the Historic Johnsville Ski Hill where the Longboards Races take place each year. 20 miles. ※ Quincy is 38 miles to the west via Hwy 70 with stops on the way such as Cromberg and Two Rivers. ※ Calpine, home to the almost 100 year old Sierra Valley Lodge recreation hall, is 18 miles south via the A23. ※ Sierraville, your last stop en route to Truckee and home of the Globe Hot Springs and a few great eateries, is 25 miles south via the A23.

Settling Into Your Cabin OUTPOST RECREATION CENTER

The white key card attached to your cabin key is for access to the Outpost Recreation Center. ※ Fitness Center ※ Swimming Pool & Hot Tub (Open Seasonally)

※ His & Hers Locker Rooms and Showers ※ Lounge Room with Billards and TV

Guests staying in the Wolf Tree Cabins are welcome to use the Outpost. Your use of these facilities is subject to the same rules and regulations observed by Grizzly Ranch homeowners. Please familiarize yourself with the rules below, in particular, the ones highlighted in yellow. Additionally, we ask that you respect the Outpost and others. This includes returning any exercise equipment to its proper storage place and picking up your belongings and trash around the pool and Outpost. Your cooperation in keeping these facilities in good order and enjoyable for others is much appreciated.  The Outpost is not supervised. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children under the age of 14 are not allowed in the fitness room at any time.  There is neither a life guard at the pool nor a supervisor in the exercise equipment area.  Please wipe off exercise equipment after use.  Please refrain from wearing strong perfumes or colognes before working out on the exercise equipment.  Please be considerate of others while at the Outpost. This includes the appropriate use of cell phones, radios, etc. Noise levels should be maintained at a reasonable level.  Smoking is not allowed at any time at the Outpost.  Glassware is not allowed in the pool or shower areas at any time.  Pets are not allowed at the Outpost at any time.  Shirts and footwear shall be worn in all areas other than the pool.  Turn off all lights and return exercise equipment to the proper place prior to your departure

YOUR GARBAGE DO NOT leave any trash outside. Please place trash into the bear-proof cans within the small shingled enclosure next to the road nearest to Sugar Pine Cabin. Make sure the door is closed when you’re finished.

Settling Into Your Cabin THERMOSTAT You will find the thermostat in the front hallway to the left at Sugar Pine, and behind the mud room door in Creekside and Deer Run. Remove the faceplate and adjust the temperature using the UP and DOWN arrows. Hit the HOLD TEMP button to set the desired temperature. Make certain that the bottom swing lever is directed toward the correct type of air, COOL or HEAT.

CLOSING & LOCKING FRENCH DOORS The French doors to the porch have a unique locking mechanism. First, close the door that includes the center trim and lift handle upwards while turning lock on that door. Make sure that door is locked and then do the same with the second door – Lift handle upwards then turn lock. Both doors should now be locked.

FIREPLACE INSTRUCTIONS

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Open glass doors to fireplace. Turn the handle 90 degrees counter-clockwise from “9 o’clock to 6 o’clock”, and the flame will light. Leave the doors open while the fireplace is on. The wall switch on the right activates the fan. Turn the fireplace off by turning the handle 90 degrees clockwise from “6 o’clock to 9 o’clock”. Close glass doors when not in use. Pilot light should remain ON and will go out if handle is rotated beyond the indicated 90-degree ranges. Do not push in or pull out the turning handle as it will shut the pilot off.

DOGS We do allow up to 2 (well-behaved) dogs in your cabin with an additional non-refundable fee of $25/dog per night, with a maximum of $100/dog per week. Dogs must remain on leash when being walked throughout the community. Do not leave pets unattended in the cabins. Boarding is available at High Sierra Animal Rescue. For you and your dogs’ safety, please limit walking on the golf course cart paths.

Cabin Terms & Conditions Deposit A 50% deposit of the total cost is required in order to confirm a reservation.

Payment in Full Because we do not have a check-in facility, payment in full for the entire stay is required 7 days prior to arrival.

At the time that the remaining balance is collected, we will send you an additional confirmation email with access instructions to the cabin.

Cancellations Cancellation of a confirmed reservation must be made at least 7 days prior to arrival in order to receive a refund of your deposit. Reservations cancelled after final payment has been made are not eligible for a refund unless we are able to re-book the cabin. Naturally, we will make every effort to re-book the cabin and return your payment.

Pet Policy Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome, provided they are not left unattended in the cabin. Owners are expected to "clean up" after their dogs. Dogs are not permitted on the golf course at any time, and must be on leash when walking around the community. A non-refundable deposit of $25 per dog per night (up to $100 / week for each dog) is required.

Smoking Policy Smoking is not permitted inside the cabins at any time.

Damage to Property We reserve the right to charge guests for the cost of rectifying damage which has been caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless acts of guests. Such charges will be processed at our discretion to the credit/debit card used to pay for the reservation. We will, however, make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that guests would incur to a minimum.

Outdoor pool & hot tub, 2400 square foot recreation center with fitness and locker facilities, great room lounge with TV, ping pong, mini kitchen and billards.

Over 5 miles on property with access to adjacent federal lands.

Constructed and maintained by the Grizzly Ranch Conservancy, a non-profit created to manage the watershed and protect native habitat.

On-site full bar and lunch shop. Excellent views to enjoy a snack or cocktail overlooking the 18th green, covered bridge, and large pond. Open only during golf season.

Approximately ¼ acre pond stocked with fish and providing fishing opportunities for children and experts alike.

Big Grizzly Creek:

½ mile on the western border of the community and including 12.5 acres of natural riparian land with hiking trails, picnic tables, rustic seating and creek access for fishing and wading.  THE OUTPOST GREEN to sit adjacent to the Outpost and will include a large turfed area with Bocce ball, BBQ area. 

This unique Lost Sierra location provides endless and instant access to a wide range of outdoor adventures including lake and river fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, road and mountain biking, bird watching, wildlife photography and unfettered exploring.

Even with more than a 1000 acres, Grizzly Ranch is thoughtfully limited to just 380 homes. Some 400 acres are dedicated to open space under the guidance of the Grizzly Ranch Conservancy, the environmental steward created to improve and protect waterways, wetlands, and wildlife habitat.
