To be truly emancipated means to be free from all forms of oppression – economic, social, and psychological. It means having the agency to determine our own destiny, as individuals and as a nation It means challenging systemic inequalities, dismantling prejudice, and ensuring thatnoGrenadianisleftbehind.
While the chains of chattel slavery are gone, new forms of bondage can emerge – economic exploitation, social marginalization, and the insidious forces that seek to limit our potential. Now,morethanever,wemustbevigilant.

From the parade of the Children’s Carnival Frolic displaying our rich cultural heritage, to Majestic Thursday National Carnival Queen Show pageant showcasing our seven (7) beautiful contestants, to Bacchanal Friday Soca Monarch competition filled with energetic and creative performances from the groovy and power soca finalists, to Pantastic Saturday Panorama competition echoing the infectious rhythms of sweet, sweet steelpan music in the air, to the Spectacle of DimarcheGras showcasing the creativity and humor of the finalists and the dazzling costumes of king and queen of the bands, were all an epic display and celebration of our creativity, talent, culture and energy. Congratulations to all our winners and every participant who graced the stage!
J’ouvert morning was filled with oil, paint, rhythm, and the spirit and chants of the Jab Jab! Pure Grenadian spirit as hundreds moved together, keeping our culture alive with every step. Monday night mas, a display of lights! The music, the vibes, and the energy were just right! Colors, infectious music, vibrant energy, and pure vibes filled the streets for Pretty Mas with revelers in stunning costumes From dazzling costumes to joyful faces, visitors, citizens, masqueraders, and onlookers all came together to make Spicemas 2025 an unforgettable celebration!

The festival, themed “Caribbean Roots, Global Excellence,” was the ultimate celebration of Caribbean culture, creativity, and global connections, with participation from over 25 countries, and washeldAugust22-31,2025

Team Grenada proudly represented at the opening event, the Parade of Nations, carrying ourcolours,ourpeople,andourstories-resilient,creative,andunforgettable.

The Government of Grenada acknowledges the tireless efforts of teachers who have served with excellence,oftenunderchallengingcircumstances
Thisregularizationprocessensuresthattheirservice is formally recognized and rewarded, providing access to improved benefits, job security, and professionaldevelopmentopportunities.

The Ministry of Climate Resilience, the Environment and Renewable Energy hosted a joint mission of the NDC-TEC project and the Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE), aimed at advancing the electrification of Grenada’s marine transportation sector. This groundbreaking initiative:
The team held high-level discussions with Permanent Secretaries from the Ministry of Climate Resilience and the Ministry of the Blue Economy and Fisheries. Stakeholder engagement continued with the Grenada Electricity Services Ltd (Grenlec) and the Grenada Coast Guard, focused on technical readinessandoperationalintegration
An interactive meeting with the Gouyave Fishermen’s Cooperative, enabled meaningful dialogue where members shared valuable insights on the needs and opportunities of the localfishingcommunity
Introducedelectricpropulsionsystemsfor fishingvesselsinCarriacou,Petite Martinique,andGouyave
Deliveredanelectricpatrolboatforthe GrenadaCoastGuard,markingan importantsteptowardreducingemissions andstrengtheningclimateresilienceinthe blueeconomy
The team visited Carriacou and Petite Martinique for direct consultations with fisherfolk and culminated with a national multi-stakeholder meeting bringing together representatives from several other stakeholdersandinterestedpartners
Through the undertaking, the stakeholders were able to accurately determine conversion ratios and ensure that only conch of the appropriate sizes are harvested
Grenada aims to strengthen its case for lifting the current CITES ban and allow the resumption of conch exports- which can improve earnings for people whose livelihooddependontheindustry.
Grenada signed onto CITES in 1973 and began enforcing in 1975. The weeklong undertaking was led by Mauro Gongora ProjectConsultant.

Various stakeholders in the fishing department participated in a field exercise aimed at determining the meat conversion ratio for Lambie (Queen Conch), in accordance with requirementssetbyCITES.
The exercise was supported by fishers from Calliste, Woburn, and True Blue, who assisted in thecollectionoffielddata
The process, though simple, contributes to Grenada's ongoing efforts to become compliant withinternationalstandardsfortheIndustry.

A four-member team from Carriacou represented the tri-island stateofGrenadaattheCoteccU14TennisCupinSurinamefrom August 16th to 22nd. The team consisted of Jayden Bristol, Tyler Alexis,DestineeAntoine,andAnnabelleStanislaus.
The team faced stiff competition from teams from the Netherlands, Honduras, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Kitts and Nevis, Barbados,andSuriname.

The village of Windward, the heart of Carriacou’s centuries-old boat-building tradition, is once again showcasing its craftsmanship with the construction of a 46footvessel.
Theproject,ledbyCarlEnoe,sonofrenowned shipwright Alwin Enoe, not only highlights the island’s maritime legacy but also creates opportunities for skill transfer to younger generations through training at the Carriacou BoatBuildingSchool.
ThePrincessRoyalHospitalistakingasignificantstepforwardin healthcare delivery with the installation of a brand-new X-ray machine.
This new equipment, generously donated by the International Atomic Energy Agency, will not only enhance patient care but alsohelpreducecostsforresidentsonthesisterisles.

The heart of St Andrew came alive as Progress Park, one of Grenada’s most cherished community spaces, was officially illuminated in a vibrant ceremony that drew residents, local officials, and cultural performers together in celebration.

The lighting project, spearheaded by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and local stakeholders, marks a significant milestoneintheongoingrevitalizationofpublic spaces across the parish. The newly installed lighting system is designed to enhance safety, extendrecreationalhours,andsupportevening sportingeventsandculturalactivities.

“Progress Park is more than just a field—it’s a symbol of our collective spirit. Lighting it up means lighting up opportunities for youth, families, andtheentireparish,”theysaid.
The event featured performances by local drummers, dancers, and school choirs, as well as a symbolic countdown to the first official lighting of the park. As the lights flickered on, cheerseruptedfromthecrowd,many ofwhomexpressedexcitementabout thepark’snewpotential.
Residents welcomed the upgrade, noting that the lighting will allow for safer evening walks, extended hours for football and cricket matches, and a more vibrant atmosphere for community gatherings. “It feels like a new beginning for St Andrew,” said one attendee. “We’ve waited a long timeforthis.”
Progress Park has long served as a hubforsports,education,andcultural events.Withitsnewlightingsystem,it is poised to become an even more dynamic space for the people of St Andrewandbeyond.
