The key outcomes of the research presented in this report
focus on the direct employment generated by the renewable
energy industry in Thailand. Using a comparative analysis of
the ‘number of jobs per gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity
generation’, the research findings indicate that within the
renewable energy sector, biogas and modern biomass industries
have the highest direct employment rates with 1.272 and 0.871
jobs per GWh per year. The solar energy industry generates
0.766 jobs per GWh per year, followed by wind energy industry
with a rate of 0.262 jobs per GWh of electricity produced.
