Registration Programs marked with an asterisk (*) require registration. Unless otherwise noted, registration will begin on Friday, June 17 at 9am. A GHPLD Library card and PIN (last 4 digits of phone number) are required at the time of registration. GHPLD residents are given preference for all programs. Non-residents may contact the Library to register one week before a program is scheduled, if space is available.

Ready, set, read! Sign up for the Summer Reading Program and log your reading to earn tickets for a chance to win one of our grand prizes. Readers in grades PreK–12 will receive weekly prizes. Grand prize tickets can be picked up at the Youth or Information Desks. This program is open to youth (ages 2+) and adults of all ages.

You can conveniently log your reading through our website, greenhillslibrary.org. Books, eBooks, and audiobooks checked out from the Green Hills Public Library District collection are eligible.

National Night Out

Geocaching Competition

Tuesday, August 2 • 6:30–8:30pm The Library is partnering with the Palos Hills Community Resource & Recreation Department, the Palos Hills Police Department, and the North Palos Fire Department for a fun summer evening for families! National Night Out is a nationwide campaign to encourage community engagement and build closer police-community partnerships. There will be a family concert with singer Dave Rudolf, a balloon artist, a face painter, and more! This event will take place at Town Square Park, Palos Hills. Send the summer off in style with fun for the whole family.

Monday, June 6– Saturday, August 6 The geocaching competition is in full swing! Visit each participating library to find the hidden geocaches and turn in your qualifying scorecard to receive an entry in the grand prize raffle!
