On the restaurant scene, it was a bit of an emotional roller coaster with the getting a Texas Roadhouse and the sudden closing of Fatz Cafe. Texas Roadhouse will be located inside the new Shops At Greeneville retail development on East Andrew Johnson Panda Express, which serves Chinese fast food, also is planned at the site. The grading plan for the site shows small retail store.fee drive-thru is planned at North Rufe site of the former Long John Silver’s restaurant. Other positive restaurant news in 2023 included the opening of Southern Craft The opening of Southern Craft was building. Southern Craft has three other barbecue restaurants in the Tri-Cities. Circle S has another location in Morristown. The restaurant specializes in farm fresh beef, other meats, and coun-rant chain also had locations in Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia, according to its website. Two weeks later, Greeneville-based Forward Air announced leadership changes, including the departure of Tom Schmitt, chairman, chief executive It all began in August 2023 when ForOmni. Just prior to this decision, Scott Niswonger, Greeneville philanthropist and co-founder of Forward Air, resigned from the board of directors.
