What is Europass?

An portfolio consisting of 5 documents which individuals can use on a voluntary basis Purpose of Europass to support more effective communication of information on skills, qualifications, work and employment experiences, credits, and learning outcomes.

EUROPASS

Mobility • describes the skills acquired abroad on mobility experiences for learning or work • It is addressed to anyone who has successfully completed a mobility experience in any European country,

• It records the trainee's data, the details of the two organizations (sender & host), the period, the target and the benefits the learner has at the level of knowledge, skills and abilities.

Europass Diploma Supplement a document attached to a higher education diploma issued by the competent authorities or bodies (universities) Easier to understand : learning outcomes & skills acquired by the holder of the qualification, nature, level, context, content and status of the education and training completed

does not

It replace the diploma neither guarantees the recognition of the diploma abroad

Europass Certificate Supplement For Who Any person who holds a vocational education and training certificate.

Is not:

A substitute for the original certificate nor An automatic system that guarantees recognition.

The new Europass framework, as set out in the Europass Decision2 continues with the mission of supporting transparency and understanding by supporting communication the revised Decision calls for a new Framework, of webbased tools and information that responds to the changing ways in which we learn and work.

The challenges to communication – differences in language, definitions, documents and formats – remain, especially so when people move between countries.

However the progress of technology offers new routes to modernise Europass and find smart solutions, as well as ensure wider outreach to potential Europass users to maximise its value as an inclusive,

public service.

 skills and qualifications relevant to the particular needs of third country nationals arriving or residing in the Union to support their integration
