Areas set aside in Port Campbell National Park Regulation(s)

20(1)(a) Areas where access is prohibited or restricted To set aside an area to which access for a person or class of persons is prohibited without a permit.

The following areas:

1. beaches (between the high-water mark and base of the cliffs) between Castle Rock and the Razorback lookout.

2. London Bridge Beach (between the low-water mark and base of the cliffs) as indicated on Maps 1a and 1b (Attachment 1).

At all times. Entry to the area(s) set aside is not allowed. This set aside is necessary for the purposes of public safety within the park.

All roads and tracks designated for Management Vehicles Only as listed in Table 6 and shown in Figure 4 of the Port Campbell National Park Management Plan 1998 (Attachments 4 and 5).

The whole of the park except the vehicle roads and tracks as listed in Table 6 and shown in Figure 4 of the Port Campbell National Park Management Plan 1998 (Attachments 4 and 5).

At all times. Entry of persons driving or riding motorised vehicles including AWD vehicles, 2WD vehicles, 4WD vehicles, motorbikes, trailbikes and motorised bicycles; is prohibited from the area set aside.

(Note: The term ‘motorised vehicle’ is defined and administered by Vic Roads https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/

This set aside is for the purposes of the preservation, protection or management of the park.)

At all times. Entry of persons using non-motorised vehicles including bicycles, monocycles, skateboards, roller skates, in-line roller blades or coasters, roller skis and scooters is prohibited from the area set aside.

28(1) Areas for collection of bait

To set aside an area of a relevant park

All of the park except for the intertidal areas of the Special Protection Area listed in Table 1 and shown

At all times. The taking of animals for use as bait is allowed in accordance with the Fisheries Act 1995.

Bait must not be collected in the adjacent Twelve Apostles Marine National Park, in accordance with section 45A of the National Parks Act 1975.

Carparks in the following management zones:

1. Conservation and Recreation Zone

2. Recreation Development Zone as shown in Figure 2 of the Port Campbell National Park Management Plan 1998 (Attachment 3).

At all times. Fishing is not allowed in the area(s) set aside. Bait must not be collected in the adjacent Twelve Apostles Marine National Park, in accordance with section 45A of the National Parks Act 1975.

Between sunrise and sunset. Access:

• Horses must remain on roads and tracks.

• Horses must be on lead when not in a yarded area.

Group Size:

• Maximum group size of 10. Management of horses:

• Horses cannot directly be watered waterbodies in the park.

• Buckets should be used for drinking if possible.

• Horses must not be washed in or near rivers, streams, aqueducts or other waterbodies. Buckets must be used for washing.

• Nosebags must be used for feeding. Feed type should be selected to minimise the risk of the spread of weeds, such as pellets, certified clean chaff/hay and rolled or cracked, clean grain.

All waste associated with horses including manure, hay and other feed must be removed from the park and not left in loading and unloading areas in carparks or campsites.

At all times. Fires using gaseous and liquid fuels are allowed in the area(s) set aside.

All gaseous and liquid fires must comply with the Forest (Fire Protection) Regulations 2014.

Areas where using vessels restricted or prohibited.

To set aside an area of a park as an area in which any of the following is prohibited or restricted, either for all vessels or for those classes of vessels that are specified in the determination-

(a) the launching of vessels;

(b) the landing of vessels;

(c) the loading and unloading of vessels;

(d) the mooring of vessels;

(e) the anchoring of vessels; the operating of vessels.

The waters landward of the high-water mark at the beaches between Castle Rock and the Razorback lookout, and the waters landward of the low-water mark at London Bridge Beach, as indicated on Maps 1a and 1b (Attachment 1).

The person in charge of the fire must ensure the ground and airspace within a distance of 1.5 metres from the outer perimeter and uppermost point of the fire is clear of flammable material.

Before leaving the place of the fire, the fire must be completely extinguished.

At all times. Motorised vessels must not launch, land, moor, load, unload, anchor or operate in the area(s) set aside.
