Newport’s Most ABOUT THE 10 SPOT RIDE: The eponymous 10 “Spots” of this event are scattered around the City of Newport. Each location is secret until the day of the event. Each is a private garden or otherwise unique location, made available by the homeowner or property owner. Each is catered by a local restaurant and entertained by a local musician. Each participant is assigned to start their day at one of the 10 Spots. In this way, the day begins with participants spread out around the City and crowding at any location is avoided At their start, participants receive the event guide which includes a map and descriptions of the 10 Spots.
From there on, everyone has a fun Newport bicycle adventure as they choose their routes and timing to the 10 Spots which welcome them from 11am to 4pm.
• It was so fantastic like taking a vacation in our own town Jean Conway
At each location, volunteers and hosts welcome the riders to a unique experience. From secret gardens to wooded acres, from scenic vistas to seaside views the 10 Spots deliver all that Newport has to offer food and drink from local restaurants and farms, tunes by local musicians, and gardens and landscapes usually hidden from view.
In the words of the riders:
• You guys better do it again or I’ll be disappointed Judy Beyar

BBBSRI, previously headquartered on Pontiac Avenue in Cranston, made the decision to relocate to Providence after its headquarters’ location was identified as a weakness during its strategic planning process. The process found that sixty eight percent of youth served by BBBSRI live in Providence County and it is estimated that the number would double if the organization were more accessible to families in Providence.
The new headquarters are housed in a beautifully restored historic textile mill complex, which includes a community meeting room, a small conference room, and a café space that are utilized for mentoring activities and agency events. In order to ensure equity and accessibility, the space is handicap accessible and outfitted with a state of the art AV system, which can accommodate hybrid meetings. BBBSRI invites nonprofits to share the communal space for free “We are so proud of our new space. It’s been rewarding to see our strategic plan come to life, we are very fortunate to be able to share our successes with fellow charitable organizations and reach new Matches,” says CEO Katje Afonseca.
