MaHkato Pow-wow/history fest Mahkato Pow-wow September 21-23 mahkatowacipi.org The Mahkato Pow-Wow, or Wacipi, takes place every fall at Land of Memories Park to honor the 38 Dakota warriors who died in the largest mass execution in U.S. history. The event signifies the reconciliation between the Dakota and local settlers following the Dakota Conflict. Learn about Native American history and culture and see unique arts, crafts, native dances and more.
