Taking the leap to be an independent consultant can feel daunting. From the first networking event I attended, the Chamber has helped me grow not only my network but it has enabled me to gain resources to help get started and plan for future growth particularly through the Small Business Academy. The networking events provide a great space to meet new people, connect with existing contacts, hear from others who have experience of running their own business and to have fun in a relaxed, professional environment. It makes the journey of being independent less daunting.
We’re delighted to highlight our new resource, “Bridging the Gap between Business and Education”, which you’ll find by clicking here: https://www.greaterbirminghamchambers.com/about/our-network/lichfield-andtamworth.html
This guide has been developed by our Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber Committee, led by President Fiona Rouse and Vice Presidents Julie Poppleton and Hannah Montgomery, to help strengthen connections between local schools, colleges, and businesses.
It’s designed to make collaboration easier - offering practical ways for employers to engage with young people, inspire future talent, and support the skills our region needs to thrive.
We encourage all members to take a look, and think about how your organisation could get involved. Together, we can build stronger pathways between education and business, and help prepare the next generation for meaningful, rewarding careers.

Grace Cares is proud to be the Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber’s Charity of the Year. We make care sustainable - putting people first while respecting our planet. Our long-term ambition is to help 1 million people, with a milestone of 10,000 supported by 2028.
What we do is simple and powerful: we rescue, refurbish and resell preloved care equipment so it stays in use and out of landfill. We help older people live with dignity and independence, and we empower unpaid caregivers with practical resources, advice and a growing peer network. We also support care providers with affordable equipment, ESG guidance and community programmes that strengthen family and resident engagement.
Our model delivers proven social value. For every £1 invested, we create £4–7 in social, economic and environmental benefit. In a UK where 5.7 million unpaid caregivers save £162 billion a year, yet many feel alone, and where isolation in later life harms health, our mission matters.
Here’s a simple way Chamber members can make a local difference today. Pledge £5 a month to Grace Cares. If 20 members do that, together you will fund a full year of our companionship Tea Parties for over-70s in our area - £1,200 that turns into warm company, laughter and renewed confidence.
Every pound is reinvested in our core mission. People. Planet. Purpose. Please join us as a donor, partner or volunteer and help us build a kinder, circular care economy for our community. Thank you for your support. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE.

As I step-back from my three-year term as President for the Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber, it's a great pleasure to hand over to Martin Hall. I am incredibly proud of how our Chamber has grown, the events we host and the work we do building relationships throughout our area.
My goal has always been simple: To give Lichfield and Tamworth a more powerful voice, at the central GBCC, with local councils and MPs; Allowing us to successfully champion our members' interests, advocate for their growth and celebrate their successes.
This year our collective achievements include:
Launching our Bridging the Gap resource pack. Written to help businesses, educators and trainers build partnerships to address skills gaps, support careers educations and engage successfully with our future workforce. Supporting Tamworth hosting its first TEDx event
The Staffordshire Gateway project, which is underway and aims to identify and push for policy changes that will help local businesses grow and thrive. Consistently highlighting the need for equity within the workplace, giving everyone what they need to success
This all feeds into our core focus of BUSINESS and COMMUNITY—connecting our economic community with our local area and creating a more supportive, vibrant business network.
It has been an absolute pleasure to serve as President. When I started, I was still actively recovering from a life-changing illness, and my self-belief had taken a bruising. This role has given me renewed purpose and confidence, and I thank all members and the GBCC team for their support and acceptance. I want to extend a huge thank you to my VicePresidents Julie Poppleton and Hannah Montgomery, and the wider Executive Committee. My thanks also go to Charlie Elliott, Head of Division, for her incredible energy and support.
Finally, I would like to pause to remember Anne-Marie Newey, Relationship Manager for many local members, who recently passed away. Our thoughts and love are with her family.
I hand over to Martin with immense confidence. The future of the Chamber is bright, and I look forward to seeing what we all achieve next.
Fiona Rouse
Outgoing President Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber of Commerce

It’s a genuine honour to welcome you to the LTCC AGM as your incoming President. I’d like to begin by recognising the outstanding leadership of our outgoing President Fiona over the past two years and of course the work and support from Hannah and Julie. Their dedication, resilience, and commitment to our business community have laid strong foundations - and we all thank them for everything they have done.
As I step into this role, my focus is clear: to build on their legacy and ensure our Chamber continues to be a driving force for growth, innovation, and influence. Over the next two years, I want us to lean into the opportunities ahead - from HS2 and the rise of AI, to the evolving relationship between education and business. We must be ready to grow as the economy recovers, and we must ensure our local MPs hear and act on the needs of our businesses.
I also see the impending reorganisation of local councils not as a challenge, but as a strategic opportunity - one where our Chamber can shape procurement, policy and support frameworks that truly reflect the ambitions of our members.
Together, we will champion the value of Chamber membership, encourage member to member engagement, spotlight local success, and ensure LTCC is the go to place for business support and networking.
Thank you for your trust. I look forward to working with you all make our Chamber not just relevant, but indispensable.

CHARLIE ELLIOTT
As we gather for this year’s AGM, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been a truly outstanding year for the Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber of Commerceone defined by growth, collaboration, and a renewed sense of community spirit.
Over the past year, we’ve continued to grow not only in membership but in influence and impact across the region. Our Chamber has strengthened its voice within the Greater Birmingham Chambers network and beyond, ensuring that businesses here in Lichfield and Tamworth are represented, supported, and heard where it matters most.
A key focus has been the changing landscape of devolution and what it means for our local economy. Our Staffordshire Gateway Growth Panel has been an excellent example of the Chamber at its best - bringing together businesses, local authorities, and stakeholders to explore new opportunities for growth and investment.
I’d like to give special thanks to Fiona Rouse, whose presidency has been marked by wisdom, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to collaboration and our business community. Fiona’s leadership has left a lasting legacy, and I’m delighted she’ll continue to guide us as Honorary Chair.
My thanks also go to our outgoing committee members for their service, and to our newly elected President Martin Hall, Vice Presidents Emma-Jane Bisseker and Logan Khan, and all our continuing committee members for leading us into another exciting year.
Together, we truly are a community - and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’re building.
Charlie Elliott Head of Royal Sutton Coldfield and Lichfield & Tamworth
