Annual Meeting Hosted by District #118 at Central Junior High School District #118 welcomed the Chamber Board and other Chamber Members for the 2013 Annual Meeting on Tuesday. December 17 at Central Junior High School. The meeting recapped the accomplishments of the twelve Chamber Committees and their goals for 2014 with reports from the chairperson of the committee. Attendees also heard from Belleville Mayor Mark Eckert, Christine Spargur with Scott Air Force Base and our Executive Director, John Lengerman. The now Past President, Chris Eckert, lead the meeting until he handed the gavel over to the 2014 Board President, Andy Bridgeman. Bridgeman, of Bridgeman Insurance Agency, will serve as the Board President for the duration of 2014.

After Bridgeman concluded the meeting, several Central Junior High students spoke about the opportunity they have to participate in one of the many clubs the school has to offer, the Media Club. The students shared a bit about themselves, Students from Central Jr. High’s Media Club. what the Media Club does and then asked if several members would volunteer to be interviewed. Congratulations to Our 2013 Business Excellence Award Recipients The Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce awards two of its members with the 2013 Business Excellence Award. The Business Excellence Award is the most prestigious award given by the Chamber to a nominated member who best exemplifies the following criteria: evidence of success given company’s expansion and financial accomplishments; development and/or utilization of innovative or creative business methods; contributions to the community. The recipients for 2013 include The EDGE and Lindenwood University - Belleville. For more information about how these two businesses exemplify the judged criteria go to page 16.
