SHOW OFF YOUR REC PROJECTS AT THE BARTON COUNTY FAIR

Show off your works of art at the Barton County Fair. Did you know that you don’t have to be active in 4-H to enter your art into the fair? The Open Class competition is governed by rules in each department. The age you are as of January 1st of each show year is the age that will be used to determine which division you will be entered under. Youth are aged 16 & under, Adults aged 17–65 and a Senior is 65 & older. All entries must be made upon entry cards furnished by the Barton Couty Fair and by rules in each department. Articles previously winning awards at the Kansas State Fair or the Barton County Fair are not eligible for re-entry. Entries must be the work of the exhibitor and work should not be more than 3 years old. Every exhibit must remain intact until the last Sunday of the fair. Absolutely no exhibit will be removed before checkout, or the exhibitor will forfeit premiums. The 2024 Barton County Fair is June 26th through 30th. VOLUNTEER COACHES COACHES NEEDED!

The Rec heavily relies on parents and/or volunteers stepping up and making a difference in kids’ lives by coaching. All the training and resources are provided, we just ask for you to take the time to guide our youth towards the future! All you must do is attend a coaches meeting, pass a background check, get NYSCA certified, and be a leader during practices and games! If you would like to be a coach or would like more information, contact the Sports Department at 793-3755.

NATIONAL YOUTH SPORTS COACHES ASSOCIATION

NYSCA certification is important enough for the Rec to make the Certification Clinic mandatory for all coaches. This clinic will cover useful tips to aid you in your experience such as first aid, safety, how to organize a fun practice and tips on teaching sports techniques.
