Downtown OKC

Sapphire 32

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Located on the north end of Oklahoma City’s “Core to Shore” masterplan, Sapphire 32 is an 800,000 square foot building to revitalize the entertainment & nightlife around an NBA arena. While establishing 150,000 square feet of restaurant, bar, and entertainment space, the site & building form is sensitive to the surrounding context, such as OKC’s pre-existing entertainment district, Bricktown. Creating spines to increase pedestrian permeability to develop a pregame-postgame atmosphere was held to a high priority. Juxtaposing a high-energy, vibrant entertainment program with the addition of 219 hotel rooms and 157 apartments varying from studio to four bedroom was a tall ask, but through unique form & the opportunity to make the building a high rise accomplished that task as well as adding a striking new addition to OKC’s skyline. The stepped terraces featured along many of the floors add a unique indoor outdoor relationship within a 420 foot high-rise.

Downtown Lawrence

Lawrence Transportation Hub

Lawrence, Kansas

Located adjacent to Lawrence’s historic Massachusetts Street, Lawrence Transportation Hub is an Intermodial Transportation Hub serving the Lawrence Community. Lawrence has a great bus transportation network, but no centralized docking location. Placed on the corner of 9th and Vermont street, this prime location ensures no bus routes will need re-routing. Its design fits the local vernacular, but stands out to create another landmark within the urban fabric. Supporting other forms of transportation such as bicycle, e-vehicles, and micromobility, as well as holding retail, office, and residential spaces, this one building has created a threshold, connecting Massachusetts street with Lawrence’s fantastic bus network.

Downtown Lawrence

Watson Park Interconnection

Lawrence, Kansas

Located just west of downtown Lawrence, the Watson Park Interconnection is a bold, yet exciting proposal to enhance and promote more efficient, healthy, and green modes of transportation. Watson Park is split in two, divided by a block of 7th street. By reimagining this block of 7th street, it not only creates this interconnection that conjoins Watson Park back as one, but it creates this unique opportunity to better the community with a transportation hub. This also creates a hope for the beloved 1073 locomotive, a monument representing the deep transportation history within Lawrence.
