According to my mother, I was either born or dropped off in Roswell, New Mexico, on December 16th, 1960-something. My dad was a high school football coach in Roswell, but we soon moved to Odessa, Texas, where he coached for a couple of years before taking a summer job on a rig in Iquitos, Peru. The summer job soon became permanent, my mother and I moved to the Amazon jungle, and my international life in the oilfield began.
My father’s career at Parker Drilling Company took us around the globe to places like Algiers, Algeria, Cusco, Peru, Bogota, Colombia, and Mallorca, Spain, with several short stays in places like Papua New Guinea and South Africa. Per a promise to my mother from my uncle, who also worked at Parker Drilling,

I would have an American high school experience, so my father became the division superintendent in Anchorage, Alaska. I spent my high school years in Alaska, where summers are great but winters are rough. My summers were spent working on the North Slope of Alaska in Prudhoe Bay as a “stick picker,” the Alaska version of a roustabout, and playing hockey, football, skiing, or fishing whenever possible.
The oilfield has been a massive part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father, uncle, and grandfather all worked in the industry for over three decades in operations, and their careers started in worms corners on rigs. My grandfather was a tool pusher for Parker and worked the oilfields of West Texas and South America for over 35 years.

Life after Texas A&M was at warp speed. I got married to my college sweetheart and settled in Dallas, Texas. I probably would have tried the oilfield again, but the early 90s weren’t kind to the oil patch, so I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car until the Y2K bug hit in 1996, and that was my entry into the IT world with Southwestern Bell Telephone. In the almost three years I have been at Gravity, the Gravity family and I have experienced and been through more than all my other working years combined. One day oil was selling at negative numbers, and just as we got past that issue, COVID hit, and we scrambled to adapt to working in a remote environment using Microsoft Teams just to see one another. The IT team worked around the clock to keep Gravity connected while getting Gravity personnel set up in the new remote working environment. Then came the freeze of 2021, where the state of Texas was a giant ice cube, and Gravity employees had broken water pipes and no electricity. Still, we survived it all, and the Gravity family is stronger today than ever. The ability to adapt and thrive in difficult situations is second to none at Gravity;

I AM STILL AMAZED AND PROUD TO BE A PART OF THE GRAVITY FAMILY.
Outside of my family, I am most proud of the Gravity IT team. They are a solid group of people who constantly go above and beyond to keep Gravity connected and moving forward in our digital world. Leo Perez, Ricky Kirian, Lilly Ortiz, and David Harrell take care of all things hardware, software, and networking related. Amie Stafford and Jamie Jenkins are our NetSuite experts, but like everyone on the IT team, we step in where needed. Getting IT equipment and services to Gravity personnel is our primary responsibility, so everyone does their part. I am incredibly proud of this group of IT wizards and am looking forward to the adventures ahead of us
As for Pat, outside of work, I am a father of 4 amazing children – two girls, Caitlin and Caroline, and two boys, Tanner and Tucker. Most of my time is spent with the kids at their sporting or concert events. When I get some free time, you’ll find me on the golf course trying to hit a little white ball as far and straight as possible. I still love to fish and try to get out with the kids whenever possible.

In July 2017, my wife, Terri, and I lived in San Antonio in what we believed to be our "forever home." An out-of-state firm acquired the company I worked for, and I was out of a job. Off and on, my job search did not yield a job. In August 2017, the day before we visited Midland for our first grandchild's birth, I received a call from my recruiter checking in with me. I told him that I was excited to be going to Midland for the birth of our first grandchild. An hour after our conversation, he called me to tell me of an opportunity in Midland. I said, "What the heck? I am going to be there anyway " On August 28th, our grandson, August Brosig, was born, and an hour later, I accepted an offer of employment to work at Gravity.
Stepping back, Terri and I were married in June 1980 while attending Texas Tech University, where I graduated in 1981 with a degree in Finance. I was hired at that time by a Shell Oil subsidiary, where I was gainfully employed for over 21 years. I had a short stint as the owner of two apartment complexes before changing jobs to work for Stripes Convenience Stores for eight years. I had a brief stint (3 ½ years) in San Antonio before arriving in Midland. Terri worked as an Adult Probation Officer for several years and was honored as Texas Probation Officer of the Year in 1985
Terri and I are the parents of two great kids, Kristin and Colton. Kristin and her husband Joe live blocks from us, providing endless opportunities to spoil our two grandsons, Gus and Jamison Colton works and lives in Wimberly, Texas, and reminds us daily of how beautiful the Texas Hill Country is. Terri is still putting up with me after almost 42 years of marriage.
My time at Gravity has been the most fulfilling of my work career. As Treasury Manager, I have the opportunity to work with a great group of people in various areas of Gravity. The culture at Gravity is the friendliest in all my work experience, and it seems that everyone is working to make Gravity successful financially and as a great place to work.

On a personal note, my hobbies are reading, fishing (not lately), gardening, and running. I started running in March of 1981. I have run almost 82,000 miles (yes, I keep track… obsessively). I have completed 383 races, of which 127 are of marathon length or greater, 46 of 50 miles or greater, and have 15 100-mile trail race finishes In December 2019, I finished second in the United States Track and Field 100 Mile Championship in the “old dude” 60-64 age bracket.
I average about 5 5 miles a day or 2,000+ miles a year I most enjoy Trail Ultras in mountainous regions of the US.
WHAT OTHERS HAD TO SAY ABOUT STEVE:
It is often said in the business world that “cash is king,” and I believe this statement rings true for our company. In his role as Treasury Manager, Steve fulfills numerous functions but none more important than serving as Gravity’s last line of defense when maintaining our ever-important liquidity position. As such, his job requires tireless effort to ensure that through the constant ebbs and flows of cash in our bank accounts, we still have enough cushion to fund any unforeseen or critical, last-minute expenditure seamlessly.
I am very thankful for Steve’s calm and cool demeanor in handling this stressful role and for the patience he displays towards me as he is frequently my first call in the morning before the coffee maker is even going, requesting an update on our latest cash forecast. His positive attitude and charisma are contagious, which is why I often start my mornings off with a call to him.
I like to say, “Treasury never sleeps ” It is no coincidence that Steve is highly successful in his role, given the stamina and tenacity he undoubtedly possesses as an avid long-distance runner. I want to commend Steve for all he does for Gravity and the countless hours he spends in the trenches with me

#1 Answer: C
On every Fourth of July, at 2 pm Eastern time, children who are descendants of Declaration signers symbolically tap the Liberty Bell 13 times while bells across the nation also ring 13 times in honor of the patriots from the original 13 states. Each year, the bell is gently tapped in honor of Martin Luther King Day.
#2 Answer: A
The 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence form a fascinating cross-section of late 18th-century America. Some were great men; some were not A few were the best-known leaders in their states; others were in Philadelphia because the really powerful local leaders stayed home to form their state governments.
#3 Answer: B
"The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World" was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States and is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was designated as a National Monument in 1924.
