Contract Wins Across The Group

Across the Gratte Brothers Group, May brought a strong pipeline of newly awarded orders and key contract renewals.

Gratte Brothers Ltd (GBL) secured a series of technical project wins in the data centre space, further strengthening its portfolio of highly specialised MEP works. These orders build on existing client relationships and reinforce GBL’s reputation for delivery in data centres

Gratte Brothers Building Services Maintenance Ltd (GBBSM) also saw a healthy pipeline of both new and renewed maintenance contracts. A number of long-standing sites were retained, reflecting continued client satisfaction, while new agreements with flexible workspace provider Spacemade added to the team’s growing footprint across London.

Gratte Brothers Security Management Ltd (GBSM) had a particularly active month, with a broad range of projects awarded across retail, corporate, and international clients. This included continued deployments for Tesco and Amazon, as well as new work in Ireland, highlighting GBSM’s capability to deliver security systems at scale.

Gratte Brothers Catering Equipment Ltd (GBCEL) also added to its order book, securing multiple fit-out projects in the hospitality and education sectors. These included new schemes for stadiums like Wembley, pubs and restaurants like Mitchells & Butlers, and leisure companies like PGL, demonstrating the team’s versatility and reliability in time-sensitive environments.

Together, these wins underscore the strength and diversity of the Group’s offer, as well as the collaborative effort of teams across all divisions. Well done to everyone involved.

11 Pilgrim Street Project Spotlight

Overview

Tucked away on a charming City lane, The Carter Building – also known as 11 Pilgrim Street – is a striking redevelopment that transforms a historic asset into a modern, sustainable, multitenanted workspace. Situated in the heart of London, it’s a place that stands apart.

Gratte Brothers Building Services Maintenance (GBBSM) was appointed to maintain the mechanical, electrical and public health services for this complex site. Our resident technician manages an extensive portfolio of specialist subcontractors, including many who helped deliver the original redevelopment.

Overcoming Challenges

One of the early challenges was operating in a live environment, as some floors were already occupied while construction continued elsewhere. By collaborating closely with the building manager, we phased our planned preventative maintenance (PPM) works to accommodate the evolving site conditions— first using the time to familiarise ourselves with systems and layouts to ensure a smooth transition into full operation.

We also took part in handover training sessions and offered technical support to assist with project legacy communications for the building management team.

A Trusted Partner

Our relationship with 11 Pilgrim Street goes back further. Having previously maintained the building before redevelopment, we were invited back and selected over alternative providers thanks to our proven track record and commitment to clear, open communication.

This continuity, combined with technical knowledge and proactive support, helped us to establish maintenance operations for one of London’s most prestigious new commercial assets.

Foodservice Solutions Delivered at Flagship Pub

Gratte Brothers Catering Equipment Ltd has completed another standout project with Mitchells & Butlers (M&B) PLC, adding The Engineer to our growing list of successful installs across their estate.

Touted as one of their most innovative pubs to date, The Engineer has been transformed into the brand’s flagship site for premium dining and modern hospitality, setting a new benchmark across the M&B portfolio.

But even the best-engineered plans can face unexpected hurdles. Just a week before our scheduled install, the project hit a significant obstacle. Our team responded swiftly, reworking logistics, rescheduling engineers, and deploying specialist lifting equipment to lower upright fridges through the beer drop.

It’s this adaptability and precision that earned us the opportunity to deliver at one of the UK’s most forward-thinking pubs.

Unlike a data centre, school, or office, this is one of our projects you can truly experience for yourself. So, if you find yourself in the Primrose Hill area, pop in for a pint and a bite, and see our work in action.

Hoar Cross Hall Marks a UK First for GBCEL

We’re proud to announce the successful completion of our project at award-winning spa hotel, Hoar Cross Hall — a landmark install that’s breaking new ground in both innovation and sustainability.

This project saw the first-ever UK order and installation of MKN’s SteelPlus range, making it a major milestone not only for us but for our partners at MKN UK. As part of our ongoing Journey to Net Zero, we committed earlier this year to offering the more sustainable SteelPlus option at no extra cost to our customers — and Hoar Cross Hall is the first site to benefit from that promise.

In addition, this job marks the UK’s first installation of the new MKN Optima Line, putting Gratte Brothers Catering Equipment Ltd at the forefront of modern commercial kitchen design.

As of this week, we’ve officially handed over a brand-new staff dining area, featuring fully operational proline, cookline, and a central island cooksuite.

A huge thank you to everyone involved — from the project team to our partners at MKN — for delivering this milestone with precision and professionalism.

Serving up Sustainability | Pathways to Net Zero ceda Conference Session & Awards

On Thursday 12th June, Gratte Brothers Catering Equipment Ltd took to the stage at the ceda Conference 2025 to lead a thoughtprovoking panel session titled “Serving Up Sustainability: Pathways to Net Zero.”

Our Service & Operations Director, Natasha Baker, and Group Sustainability Manager, Alice Kilner, were joined by leading voices from across the industry: Johnny McCreesh (Climate Strategy Team Lead, Normative), Tracey Southwell (Managing Director, Hobart UK), and Paul Arnold (Project Director, Tricon).

The session focused on the evolving role of carbon accounting including how businesses can prepare for growing demands for transparency and accuracy in sustainability reporting. As net zero targets become more urgent and data expectations more rigorous, our panel explored how organisations can align with compliance, improve reporting, and still make meaningful progress using the tools and resources already at hand.

The conversation was candid, collaborative, and grounded in operational reality. Attendees raised thoughtful questions during the Q&A, highlighting a shared desire across the industry for clarity, consistency, and realworld action.

ceda Grand-Prix Awards

Later that evening, our Foodservice Solutions division was honoured to be nominated for Outstanding Customer Service at the ceda Grand Prix Awards 2025, recognised for our long-standing partnership with Dobbies Garden Centres.

Beginning in 2018 with a small number of sites, our relationship with Dobbies has grown steadily into a national service model now covering over 60 locations across the UK. From planned and reactive maintenance to

equipment installations, asset tagging, and estate digitisation via JobLogic, every service is delivered with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Dobbies is a well-established brand with a strong focus on sustainability. Their cafés and restaurants play a vital role in creating welcoming, high-footfall retail environments— making kitchen operations absolutely critical. Gratte Brothers has become a trusted partner in this mission, providing expert support and reliable service that scales with the needs of the business.

Our client relationship is as robust as the service itself, built on fortnightly performance reviews, KPI tracking, and open communication that keeps both teams aligned and proactive.

While we didn’t take home the trophy this year, being shortlisted for this prestigious award reflects the dedication, responsiveness, and care that our teams bring to every job, every day.

Whether leading the conversation on sustainable operations or supporting national clients with scalable, high-quality service, our teams are driven by the same principle: Delivering Quality.

Congratulations to Natasha, Alice, and all involved—for representing our values so clearly, both on stage and on site.
