Introducing LUXE, South Florida: A Vision of Style and Luxury

At Lifestyle Media Group, our mission has always been to elevate and celebrate the luxury lifestyle in South Florida. With the launch of LUXE, we are thrilled to present an opulent publication that showcases our distinguished advertisers in their element, reflecting their unique style, elegance, and personality.

Together with my award-winning Creative Director, Melanie Geronemus Smit, Managing Director Kim Sarni, Group Editor Lori Capullo, and our esteemed CEO, Gary Press, we have the privilege of bringing this sophisticated vision to life. LUXE is more than just a magazine—it’s a carefully curated experience, a collection of South Florida’s most luxurious brands, businesses, and destinations. From the very beginning, our goal was to create an unparalleled platform that allows each of our partners to shine, capturing their essence in a way that resonates with our discerning audience.

The most exciting part of developing LUXE was the journey of discovery. We scouted some of South Florida’s most breathtaking venues to frame our advertisers in an environment that enhances their unique presence. From the intimate charm of Vino’s Wine Bar to the waterfront splendor of Pier 66, every location was chosen to complement the brands we feature. The result? A visual and editorial masterpiece that seamlessly weaves together luxury, exclusivity, and innovation. We approached this project with the intent of crafting an elegant, visually rich experience that speaks to the sophisticated tastes of our readership. Our advertisers deserve this publication.

LUXE is just the beginning of a bold, stylish future, and we invite you to immerse yourself in the luxury that def nes South Florida. For more information, please contact Michelle Simon, msimon@lmgfl.com

EVERYTHING BY DESIGN

For more than 40 years DCOTA has been an iconic design institution. Inspiration can be found within our premier showrooms, art galleries, personalized white-glove services and more, that tailor to your luxury lifestyle.

From the bustling streets of Miami to the refined elegance of Palm Beach, South Florida has emerged as a culinary epicenter, boasting some of the country’s most luxurious and exciting dining destinations. But it’s not just the exceptional cuisine or curated wine lists that make these spots stand out—it’s how the ambiance and interior design elevate the overall visit. Here, the space itself plays a pivotal role in shaping the mood, creating an atmosphere that makes every meal feel like an event. The goal isn’t just to serve great food; it’s to create an atmosphere where every aspect—flavor, service, and space—comes together to craft an unforgettable meal.

The region’s growing recognition is clear: as of 2025, Miami boasts 69 restaurants listed in The Michelin Guide, with 30 of those holding Michelin stars or Bib Gourmands. And it’s not just Miami— this year, The Michelin Guide expanded its reach to include Greater Fort Lauderdale and the Palm Beaches, with a statewide expansion planned for 2026. For those unfamiliar, a Michelin star signals culinary excellence, while a Michelin Guide-rated restaurant doesn’t guarantee a star but speaks to the high quality of the experience.

Here, we’re diving into a few of South Florida’s most iconic dining destinations, where exceptional food and artful design work hand in hand to provide an immersive journey that’s as much about the atmosphere as it is about the flavors on your plate. Let’s explore how each restaurant crafts a perfect balance of culinary excellence and thoughtful design to create moments that stay with you long after the last bite.

BOUCHON BISTRO

Bouchon Bistro, the creation of legendary chef Thomas Keller, brings the essence of Parisian dining to the heart of Coral Gables. Keller, widely known for his Michelin-starred The French Laundry, extends his mastery to this charming bistro, which also boasts a Michelin star. Housed in the historic La Palma building, dating back to 1924, Bouchon Bistro is refined yet approachable, combining tradition with innovation. Keller’s philosophy shines through in every dish, where classic French techniques are preserved while still allowing for creative evolution. The menu is a celebration of traditional French bistro fare—think hearty, time-honored dishes like boeuf bourguignon, perfectly crisp steak frites, and the freshest seafood available. By design, a carefully curated wine list featuring both French and international selections complements these flavors.

The interior of Bouchon Bistro, designed by Adam D. Tihany of Tihany Design, captures the perfect blend of old-world charm and contemporary elegance. The Mediterranean-style exterior, with its inviting central courtyard, leads into a space that feels both timeless and modern. Inside, the mosaic floors and zinc bar set a warm, welcoming tone, while the design elements nod to the classic French bistro, with updated touches that

enhance the overall ambiance. Ultimately, Bouchon Bistro in Coral Gables offers more than just a meal—it’s a celebration of French heritage, expertly executed in a thoughtfully designed space. From its mouthwatering dishes to its elegant atmosphere, Bouchon perfectly reflects the genius of Thomas Keller.

CHATEAU ZZ’S

Chateau ZZ's marks Major Food Group’s (MFG) bold entrance into the world of Mexican cuisine, offering a lavish dine set to a stunning 20th-century chateau. The menu is a celebration of vibrant, bold flavors, with signature starters like Michelada oysters, zesty raw-bar items, and indulgent entrées straight from the grill. Standouts include the housemade tortillas and tableside guacamole, both showcasing the restaurant's commitment to authenticity and craftsmanship. With over 1,000 tequilas and mezcals on offer, Chateau ZZ's is the ideal destination for those seeking to explore the depth of Mexican spirits, all while indulging in a meticulously prepared array of dishes and sauces made fresh daily.

The venue itself, originally known as Petit Douy, was built in 1931 by architect Martin L. Hampton. Designer Ken Fulk, collaborating with MFG, has transformed the historic chateau into a space that exudes sophisticated indulgence. Inside, guests are greeted by a a stunning a stunning solarium and a vibrant bar and lounge. Preserved architectural elements, including octagonal towers with trefoil arch windows, seamlessly blend with modern updates, creating a setting that honors both the building’s rich history and the contemporary elegance of the experience within.

Major Food Group, founded by Jeff Zalaznick, Chef Mario Carbone, and Chef Rich Torrisi, has long been known for its innovative culinary ventures, and Chateau ZZ's is no exception. The restaurant exemplifies MFG’s commitment to exceptional food and hospitality, blending traditional Mexican flavors with cutting-edge techniques. It’s a place where kitchen craftsmanship, rich history, and modern luxury come together with dazzling results.

DANIEL’S

Gioia Hospitality Group has recently opened Daniel’s, an upscale yet welcoming modern steakhouse that brings a fresh take on Floridian cuisine to Fort Lauderdale. Daniel’s is more than just a steakhouse—it’s a celebration of the region’s incredible local ingredients, with a focus on seasonality and an expertly curated beverage program.

Thomas Angelo, founder of Gioia Hospitality Group and co-owner of the Michelin Guide-recommended Fiola Miami, shares his personal connection to the project: “My daughter and I are excited to bring Daniel’s to Fort Lauderdale, a place I’ve called home for over 25 years. This project is deeply personal for me, as it reflects not only my passion for food but also my commitment to highlighting the incredible farmers, ranchers, and seasonal produce of Florida.”

Under the direction of Culinary Director Daniel Ganem, the menu at Daniel’s showcases a carefully curated selection of ingredients sourced from Florida’s farms and waters. Expect to see highlights like Skipper Sweet oysters from the Florida Panhandle, hog snapper from the Keys, and Prime steaks alongside American Wagyu from North Florida ranches. Signature dishes include a luxurious Wagyu tartare finished with Kaluga caviar, and Serenoa Bay Skipper Sweet Oysters, served with a refreshing passion fruit mignonette.

The drink menu is just as thoughtfully crafted. Led by Daniel Bishop, the bar program shines a light on locally produced spirits and beers, including offerings from Gulfstream Distillery. Specialty cocktails such as the Stranahan Sour (a nod to the Stranahan Family House in Fort Lauderdale) and the Canyon Margarita and Canyon Paloma (honoring the former Canyon space) are featured prominently, alongside an expansive wine list. Daniel’s will also continue the acclaimed wine dinner series from Fiola Miami, hosting monthly curated dinners that celebrate the perfect pairings of food and wine.

Inside, the restaurant’s design creates an inviting yet refined atmosphere, with copper accents, dark green banquettes, walnut wood tables, and elegant chandeliers. Local artistry is showcased throughout, including a stunning series by Naples-based photographer Michelle Tricca, celebrating the legendary Florida Cowboys. The vibe at Daniel’s emphasizes warmth and community, as Angelo notes, “We know how important it is to have a spot where you can enjoy a full meal later in the evening, especially after catching a game or spending time with family and friends. At Daniel’s, we’ve made it a point to be that place for our community.”

CLAUDIE

In February, Riviera Dining Group unveiled Claudie, a French-Mediterranean restaurant that perfectly captures the timeless allure of the South of France. Founded by Gregory Galy and guided by a team with deep roots in the region, the restaurant fuses exceptional French-style hospitality with exquisitely designed interiors that transport guests to a place of Mediterranean elegance.

Claudie’s philosophy revolves around fresh, seasonal ingredients to create dishes that celebrate the vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean. Under the direction of Chef Michaël Michaelidis, who has held prestigious roles at Michelin-starred restaurants like Le Louis XV-Alain Ducasse and Joël Robuchon, the menu reflects “la Cuisine du Soleil.” Expect beautifully presented dishes such as a theatrically served Table-Side Gazpacho, indulgent Escargots, and the decadent Truffle Toupie Macaroni—each showcasing the careful balance of tradition and innovation.

The restaurant’s design is as carefully crafted as its menu. The dining room, designed by OV & Co. and Lazaro Rosa-Violán, is inspired by the enchanting atmosphere of the French countryside, blending natural materials like wicker, wood, clay, and stone. A stunning circular light fixture illuminates the space, drawing inspiration from the warm glow of the sun. But perhaps the most striking feature is the French jewelry-inspired fountain that graces the terrace, complete with a bronze sculpture by renowned artist Ada Da Silva. The main bar acts as a bridge between the indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a seamless flow between the two and enhancing the overall sense of connection to nature.

At Claudie, every detail invites guests to indulge in more than just a meal. It’s an immersive experience, where the sights, sounds, and flavors come together in a celebration of the South of France’s iconic charm and elegance.

JAPÓN

Japón at The Setai Miami Beach offers an immersive dining experience that marries traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern luxury. Designed by Saladino Design Studios, the restaurant’s striking interior features a grand mosaic of the “Tsuru” crane, a symbol of happiness and good fortune, greeting guests at the entrance. Inside, the main dining area is adorned with undulating wooden ceiling patterns, fabric pendant chandeliers, and plush velvet seating featuring classic Oriental patterns. The combination of these elements creates an intimate yet elegant ambiance, perfectly reflecting the essence of Japan’s aesthetic heritage. If you’re seeking something more exclusive, the Kyoto Room offers an intimate space for up to 14 guests, where mid-1800s Japanese artwork lines the walls, and a hand-painted gold-leaf ceiling adorned with cherry blossom trees adds a touch of natural beauty. This private area is a perfect setting for those looking to savor Japanese culinary artistry in a serene, refined environment.

Under the guidance of acclaimed chefs Vijayudu Veena and Iván Monzón, the menu at Japón offers a refined symphony of flavors, textures, and visual appeal that highlights the diversity of contemporary Japanese cuisine. The dishes are rooted in simplicity and precision, focusing on the highest quality ingredients and traditional preparation techniques. Expect delicacies such as sushi, sashimi, robatayaki, and tempura, with standout offerings like miso-marinated sea bass paired with charred tomato and lamb chops served with a kimchi-

based miso sauce. Complementing the carefully crafted menu are more than 40 types of sake, a thoughtfully curated wine list, and inventive cocktails that blend traditional Japanese ingredients with modern mixology.

Authenticity is at the heart of Japón’s philosophy, with time-honored techniques and the finest ingredients bringing the true spirit of Japan to every dish. Whether you’re enjoying an intimate meal in the Kyoto Room or indulging in the main dining area, Japón offers an unparalleled experience for those looking to explore the best of contemporary Japanese cuisine.

South Florida

is home to some of the most luxurious and beautiful hotels in the country, where guests can bask in an unparalleled experience that marries opulence, comfort, and natural beauty. From Miami Beach’s world-renowned resorts to the tranquil, upscale escapes in Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach, these hotels are a testament to modern luxury, blending cutting-edge design with the unmatched beauty of the coastline.

One of the defining features they share is their proximity to the water. Whether it’s lounging by an infinity pool that appears to spill into the ocean or dining at waterfront restaurants with sunset views, water is woven into the fabric of the experience.

In addition to their prime locations, top-notch amenities set these properties apart. From private beach clubs and rejuvenating spa treatments to Michelin-starred dining and exclusive shopping boutiques, South Florida hotels are designed to pamper their guests in every way.

For locals, they’re an excellent choice for staycations, allowing South Floridians to leave behind the stress of daily life and indulge in a relaxing, luxurious getaway without having to travel. Here are a few of the crème de la crème in the tri-county area to have on your radar the next time you’re booking a getaway.

Pier Sixty-Six

FORT LAUDERDALE

In January 2025, Fort Lauderdale's iconic Pier Sixty-Six Hotel reopened after a comprehensive $1 billion renovation led by Tavistock Development Company. This extensive transformation revitalized the historic 32-acre waterfront hotel, enhancing its status as a premier destination, taking it from a 17-story property to 10 stories.

The renovated resort now features 325 luxurious guest rooms and 40,000 square feet of versatile meeting space. Standout additions include the 2.5-acre, multilevel pool deck, a 13,000-squarefoot spa (with a Snow Room for cold therapy), and The Pier Sixty-Six

Marina, with 164 slips and 5,000 linear feet of dockage, accommodating vessels up to 400 feet.

Foodies can explore 12 dining and lounge venues, each providing a unique gastronomic experience. Notably, the famed rotating Pier Top has been restored, rotating every 66 minutes to maximize guests’ panoramic views of the Fort Lauderdale skyline.

The redevelopment also introduced the Pier Sixty-Six Residences, comprising 90 upscale units across three boutique buildings marked by modern designs inspired by marine aesthetics, with features like private heated plunge pools and expansive terraces. For more information, visit piersixtysix.com.

Andaz Miami Beach

MIAMI

In 2025, the seaside revival of Andaz Miami Beach (formerly the Confidante Hotel, a cultural landmark from the 1940s) is set to debut in March after after a comprehensive $60 million renovation, reimagining it into one of the latest luxe oceanfront destinations in Miami.

Integrating the inspiration of Art Deco with ocean-inspired design, the new property houses 287 guest rooms and 65 suites. Guests will be treated to what will be the city's first ocean-view check-in experience, a unique and welcoming arrival ritual not unlike those experienced in tropical paradises abroad, and settle into chic, sophisticated guest rooms envisaged with serenity in mind; there are no sharp corners in rooms, public spaces or restaurants; everything is curved as a nod to the free-flowing movement of the ocean.

Dining experiences have been elevated through a partnership with the José Andrés Group, introducing two signature restaurants and a cocktail bar that promise innovative dining options.

A private beachfront for hotel guests only offers bean bags, hammocks and cozy daybeds. If you want to take it a step further, check out private club membership in the onsite 1930s Spanish-inspired Beach House, which unlocks curated VIP access to year-round events, two heated pools and 10 private cabanas with VIP upgrades. Also new and noteworthy is the pool area, which has been revitalized to include a hydraulic pool floor that turns into a platform for hosting after-hours events and pool parties. On a more laid-back note, visitors to the Andaz Spa can take their rejuvenating treatments in relaxing oceanfront spaces. For more information, visit hyatt.com.

The Boca Raton

BOCA RATON

Long famous as one of South Florida’s iconic resorts, in January 2025, The Boca Raton unveiled its extensively renovated Beach Club after undergoing a $130 million redesign as part of the resort's broader $375 million revitalization.

The revitalized Forbes Five-Star Beach Club now contains 210 fully redesigned guest rooms and suites, many with floor-to-ceiling ocean views and some with outdoor terraces. Among the new amenities are three revitalized pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center with floor-to-ceiling windows, and the Cabana Club by Vilebrequin, with its exclusive poolside cabanas. A stay here provides access to The Boca Raton’s Harborside privileges, including golf, tennis, pickleball, wellness experiences at Spa Palmera, plus three pools, water slides, a floating river and more at the Harborside Pool Club.

With its focus on enhanced culinary experiences overseen by Executive Chef Gonzalo Rivera, Beach Club features new standout restaurants. The Mediterranean-inspired Marisol, led by Michelin-awarded chef Johnny Spero, highlights fresh seafood in an indooroutdoor setting with ocean vistas. Additionally, Onda, a new sandside dining venue, serves up globally inspired dishes and seasonal collaborations that will spotlight a new chef every winter.

The comprehensive modernization of The Boca Raton results in an elevated and luxurious experience, seamlessly blending modern creature comforts with the historic charm it has become synonymous with since it originally opened as The Ritz-Carlton Cloister Inn in 1926. Come sail away

IF YOU WANT A RELAXING YET EXHILARATING VACATION THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR VIEW OF CRUISING FOREVER, BOOK A VIRGIN VOYAGE. ADDICTION IS GUARANTEED.

raveling, for me, is life’s ultimate luxury.

Cruising, however, has never been my thing. Having sailed with three different cruise lines, I thought my mind was made up and that the rest of my wandering the world would always start in the air.

Eleven days aboard Virgin Voyages’ sleek Resilient Lady changed that mindset. After several friends gushed to me about the experience, I talked my husband — who shared my impression of seaborne travel —into giving it one more shot. (The notion of an adults-only ship, which all Virgin ships are, added to the appeal.) So, we studied the available itineraries and booked passage setting out on a journey that began with a flight from Fort Lauderdale to Puerto Rico and took us through ports of call in Colombia, Curaçao, Aruba, Antigua & Barbuda, St. Lucia and St. Maarten.

SETTING SAIL: DEPARTURE FROM SAN JUAN

The journey begins in the heart of Puerto Rico’s bustling capital, San Juan. As you board the Resilient

Lady, you’re immediately struck by the modern and dynamic design of the ship. Gone are the stuffy, traditional cruise interiors of the past, replaced by bold colors, sleek lines, and an atmosphere that feels more like a luxury hotel than a floating city. The ship’s design is infused with Virgin’s signature flair for creativity and fun, and little details everywhere reflect the cheeky British humor that is part and parcel of the Virgin brand (case in point: the onboard ice cream shop called Lick Me Till…).

An energetic vibe permeates the ship even during the boarding process, and there’s a hipness to this cruise line that’s unlike most others. There are no cheesy performances, no formal dress codes, and certainly no buffet lines— in fact, there is no buffet. Instead, the ambience is relaxed, hip, and chill. If you’re part of the exclusive RockStar VIP experience, prepare to be treated like one.

THE ROCKSTAR VIP EXPERIENCE

Those who opt for the RockStar VIP package will discover that the Resilient Lady becomes their playground. From priority boarding to personalized services, RockStar guests enjoy the royal treatment starting before they board, receiving black electronic bracelets as opposed to

red ones that indicate their passenger status. The experience begins with a private check-in, bypassing the usual crowd and heading straight to a luxurious suite appointed with everything from plush bedding to state-of-the-art technology. A tablet allows you to operate the television, lighting system (which offers various ambient lighting choices that change colors to suit your mood and, um, in-room activities), oceanview windows and terraces with seating, and a red macrame hammock.

A RockStar concierge is at your service 24/7. When our air-conditioner didn’t cool as we thought it should, our agent popped up at the door within minutes; a service crew was summoned, and the issue was resolved.

One of the most notable aspects of the RockStar VIP experience is its level of personalization. Your RockStar agent is available to curate every detail of your voyage, from arranging private shore excursions to securing reservations at the most sought-after restaurants on board to ensuring you have the exact firmness of pillows you prefer. But

Located on the top deck of the ship, Richard's Rooftop is exclusive to Rockstar VIP passengers.

perhaps the most iconic perk is access to Richard’s Rooftop, an exclusive VIP area located on the top deck that can only be accessed via a gold magnetic card. With its giant circular upholstered lounging beds and cabanas, a hot tub and cool shower, an extensive menu of light bites and a full bar (all food and drink can be ordered from and delivered to your lounger), it’s tempting, especially during full days at sea, to camp out there the entire day (and we did). The intimate atmosphere extends to the service. After one afternoon spent at Richard’s, we were on a first-name basis with all the bartenders and servers (shout out to Ruffy and Mayvelin), who never allowed a glass to dip lower than halffull before they appeared asking if we’d like a refill. From 5 pm to 6 pm daily, it’s Happy Hour, which entails live music, flowing champagne and free drinks (i.e., they are not deducted from your bar tab). Happy, indeed.

DINING AT SEA: AN EPICUREAN ADVENTURE

The culinary experience aboard Virgin is a major highlight of the trip. Rather than reporting to a central assigned table in the dining room each night, sailors choose from more than 20 restaurants that rise far above the standard cruise ship fare. The focus is on high-quality ingredients, creative menus, and unique concepts that cater to every palate.

The Wake is a sophisticated yet relaxed steak and seafood restaurant with an impressive selection of wine and cocktails. Cozy and intimate, Extra Virgin offers handmade pastas, pizzas, and exceptional wines (it’s one of the most popular spots on the ship, so if you go, be sure to reserve — reservations go fast). The Test Kitchen is perfect for adventurous foodies, as it offers a set tasting menu (wine or cocktail flights can be added for a charge) featuring dishes rivaling those of a Michelin-star establishment. (We went twice; the menu changes every few days.) There are plenty of more

Opposite: The party is ongoing aboard Virgin's fleet of ships, day and night. Above: The Test Kitchen offers a tasting menu of experimental gourmet dishes. Right: Cocktails are always a highlight.

laid-back options as well: Razzle Dazzle offers a colorful and eclectic menu with plant-based dishes and indulgent comfort food, while Gunbae is a Korean barbecue spot where you’ll be sat with fellow sailors, and your server will challenge you in a round of drinking games. If you’re just too worn out to leave your cabin, you can order Ship Eats Delivery to your room through the Virgin app.

Let’s talk about bars. From the ultra-cool The Social Club, a lively spot to enjoy cocktails and people-watching, to the Aquatic Club, a laidback option for imbibing by the pool, there’s no shortage of places to unwind with a drink in hand. (I loved the Sip Club, with its velvet banquettes and demure bar, and bonus: in the afternoons, they serve afternoon tea complete with scones, jam and clotted cream— with or without accompanying bubbly.) For oenophiles, The Wine Cellar is an intimate space to sample wines from around the world, paired with delicious bites that enhance the tasting experience.

ENTERTAINMENT: WORLD-CLASS SHOWS AND ACTIVITIES

One of the most talked-about shows on the Resilient Lady is UNTITLED , combining circus arts, live music, and stunning visuals. It’s a sensory experience that blurs the lines between performance art and traditional theater. Persephone , in my opinion, is also not to be missed, and if you can get reservations to the dinner show Another Rose , do it — not only was the five-course meal fabulous, the show, which is interactive, was highly entertaining and hilarious, a mix of music and mayhem with performers bopping around the room, over the tables and across the stage.

If you’re looking for something a bit more chill, head to The Manor, the ship’s sleek nightclub, where you can enjoy live DJs, dance the night away, or simply relax with a cocktail in hand. The vibe is chic, sophisticated, and never too loud, which makes for the perfect atmosphere for a night of fun.

For those who prefer to take part in activities during the day, there’s no shortage of options. From fitness classes and wellness workshops to cooking demos and art installations, the Resilient Lady offers something for everyone. One standout is The Redemption Spa, where you'll choose from a range of luxurious treatments designed to relax and rejuvenate. Whether you’re opting for a soothing massage or indulging in a rejuvenating facial, the spa is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

PORTS OF CALL: EXOTIC DESTINATIONS

While the experience aboard the Resilient Lady is incredible in its own right, the journey is made even more memorable by the incredible destinations you’ll visit.

variations of ambient lighting are available in all cabins. Above: Sip is a sophisticated lounge that specializes in cocktails and offers traditional British afternoon tea.

Top: Several
Right: The man behind the brand, Richard Branson.

LITTLE DETAILS EVERYWHERE REFLECT THE CHEEKY BRITISH HUMOR THAT IS PART AND PARCEL OF THE VIRGIN BRAND.

First stop: Cartagena, Colombia. This historic city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its charming colonial architecture and vibrant streets. You’ll have the chance to explore the cobbled lanes of the walled city, visit the famous Castillo San Felipe de Barajas, or simply relax by the beach. Wander freely if you like or book an excursion (there are several to choose from) with a guide who can show you the highlights, including the best stops for shopping for the country’s highly prized emeralds. Interacting with the locals is always a high point of every vacation for me, and the Colombians are warm, friendly and generous.

Next, the Resilient Lady makes its way to Willemstad, Curaçao, a Dutch Caribbean island known for its colorful colonial buildings and pristine beaches. Stroll along the Handelskade waterfront, visit the nearby Hato Caves, or just flop down on one of Curaçao's idyllic beaches.

The ship then glides to Oranjestad, Aruba, where you can bask in the island’s year-round sun and delicious breezes, explore the striking landscapes of Arikok National Park, or indulge in water sports like snorkeling, kite surfing, and diving. (Tip: Before you go anywhere, hail a taxi, get to Linda’s Dutch Pancakes and indulge.)

In St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, you’ll be greeted by turquoise waters and some of the Caribbean’s most beautiful beaches. Stroll through the bustling markets, explore the island’s rich history, or simply relax by the sea. Finally,

the Resilient Lady makes its way to Philipsburg, St. Maarten, where you can shop for local goods, enjoy beachside cocktails, or take part in water sports like jet skiing, paddle boarding, or sailing.

RETURNING TO SAN JUAN

As our journey wrapped up in San Juan, we were left with a completely different view of cruising (and planning our next one). Virgin Voyages is in a class all its own, having come up with countless ways to set the cruise experience so far apart from most standard cruise lines that one has to sail it to believe it. The recipient of Travel+Leisure’s #1 Mega Cruise Ship Award in 2024 and voted the #1 Best Large Cruise Ship in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards, the line has ships in four homeports across the U.S. (including Miami) and proffers an array of itineraries ranging from short jaunts to lengthier sojourns to the Caribbean and the Bahamas, Europe, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia, among others. For all you need to know, visit virginvoyages.com. ■
