THE REC EXCURSION CAMP 2024

Designed to showcase the various activities Grapevine has to offer, The REC Excursion Camp is perfect for older kids who love to try new things. Camp meets each day at different locations like Grapevine Lake for kayaking, and Dove Waterpark for swimming. MONDAY: CRUSH IT!

Crush It! is DFW’s first interactive, indoor sports simulator. Campers play over 15 virtual sports and games while inside and enjoying cold air conditioning. They compete against the computer, a timer, or against friends in head-to-head, life-size games. Location: Crush It! Virtual Sports Lounge Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

TUESDAY: GET UP AND GO KAYAKING

Campers go kayaking on a guided nature tour at Grapevine Lake, where they get to see animals that live around the lake. Later, they cool off by taking a swim in the lake. Location: McPherson Slough Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

WEDNESDAY: WHOAZONE

WhoaZone is an inflatable, floating obstacle course on Grapevine Lake. With plenty of ways to jump and play, campers have high-energy fun during this excursion. Location: Meadowmere Park, Grapevine Lake Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

FRIDAY: DOVE WATERPARK

Dove Waterpark is the perfect place to hang out during summer break. From water slides to a diving board, lily pad crossing, and a rock-climbing wall, campers will have a blast ending their week of excursions. Location: Dove Waterpark Time: 9:30 am – 1:30 pm

THURSDAY: THE ESCAPE GAME GRAPEVINE Does your camper think they have what it takes to escape? Campers will have the chance to work together and solve a series of puzzles to escape each level of their room at The Escape Game. If they solve the puzzles fast enough, they might be able to go through again to try for a faster time. Location: Grapevine Mills Mall Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

OUTDOOR ADVENTURES It’s time to get up, get out, and get going for a super summertime adventure. Teens can experience the great outdoors this summer at Outdoor Adventures! Grab all the best summer has to offer in just one week as you swim, float, paddle, and even take a high-speed tubing ride on Grapevine Lake. Test your speed, coordination, and stamina on the WhoaZone floating obstacle course. Land adventures include interactive activities like paintball, group games, hiking, and more. MUSICAL THEATER CAMP, AGES 8 – 18

If you love to be onstage or have always wanted to know what being in a full production is like, this is the camp for you. Students prepare a fully costumed and produced musical theater performance of Matilda Jr. that runs in our theater at the conclusion of camp. Roles are double cast based on age. One cast is junior campers, ages 8 – 12, and the other is the older group of actors, ages 13 and up. Some roles may be single cast. Students spend half the day rehearsing the production and the other half in classes that cover acting, music, and dance.
