The entire social wing of The View is completely dedicated to business and social gatherings. The Grove banquet room seats up to 250 people and can be divided into three separate rooms. Cancellation Policies

Membership: Refunds must be requested within 60 days from the date of the original transaction. Contact Guest Services at (816) 316-4888. Activities: Refunds/credits must be requested prior to second class. A $5 cancellation fee will be charged. Refund checks normally take between two to three weeks for processing and will be mailed to the address we have on file for you. You also have the option of applying your refund to your household account to be used for another purpose in the future. We can refund to your debit/credit card on file. No Cash Refunds. Monthly Fee Returns: A $25 service fee is assessed for each returned electronic fee or check.

Membership Cancellation: Cancellation forms are obtained at the Front Desk, and must be completed and signed by the primary household member and received by us before the end of the month prior to the next billing. The only person who may cancel the membership is the one who signed the membership application.

Memberships are automatically renewed if not prepaid. Class Cancellation: If a class is cancelled by staff, a full refund/credit will be given.

Fee Return Policy: If we receive up to two dishonored electronically billed monthly fee returns we will cancel the membership. Contact Guest Services at (816) 316-4888 to re-enroll your new membership.

Any Membership Changes? A $5 fee will be charged for changes to memberships, such as adding or deleting individuals from your household. Obtain this paperwork from the Front Desk. No charges for any other changes. If you have an Adult Membership and you turn 62, the guest services staff can transfer your pass to a senior membership. If you have a member on your household that turns 21, they will need a pass transfer to an individual membership, as they are not eligible to be an additional family member at that age. A new membership application is required at this time, as the family membership and fees have changed.

Preschool Fitness-Preschool fitness will teach kids that being fit can be fun. In this class participants will play fitness games using balls, parachutes, and obstacle courses. Each class will consist of a warm up, fitness fun and then a cool down. Cost $20 SESSION DATES: 10:00am or 6:00pm Oct 3 - Oct 24 10:00am or 6:00pm Nov 7 - Dec 5 (No class 11/21) Preschool Recreation- In this class kids will learn games and activities that will help strengthen their gross motor skills, including throwing, catching, kicking, running and more. DANCE (Ages 4-10)All dance classes

begin the first week of the month and are ongoing. Sessions consist of 4 or 5 classes, depending on the month. Session fees are due by the Monday prior to the class starting. Once the deadline passes GVPR may cancel the class due to low enrollment.

Youth Classes (Ages 4-10):

Introduction to traditional techniques. Students will explore principles and learn basic movement, vocabulary and skills. Dancers will develop discipline and selfconfidence. When: Saturdays Time: Youth Ballet 10:30-11:00 Youth Jazz 11:00-11:30 Youth Tap 11:30-12:00 Fee:$20

Each class will focus on a different tumbling skill that will increase the difficulty in each session.

(3 mos. - 10 years) Kids can have fun at The View’s Kid Zone Tot Drop for up to two hours while their parent/guardian uses the facility. Please review our rules and regulations for the Kid Zone when signing your kids in and out. While it is not our intention to turn children away, the TOT Drop does occasionally reach maximum capacity of three babies under 12 months at a time. We encourage parents to call 816-316-4882 in advance to secure your timeframe. All children should be fed, changed, and ready to be dropped off at time of check-in. We know that older adults need a sense of community and a need to strengthen social ties. In response to this need GVPR has developed several programs to encourage and motivate older adults to take action and get involved.

MOVIES & MORE

The View is offering a Monthly Movie Matinee on the 1st Tuesday afternoon of each month. Come and see a movie, eat some popcorn, and make some new friends. For movie listings, please contact Guest Services at 816-316-4888. When: Tuesday Time: 1:45pm Cost: Member $0 Non-Member $1

Come in and play Bridge every Thursday afternoon. Instructor Emily Huang will be on hand to give help when needed, so even those who have never played before are welcome. It’s a murder mystery and comedy combined. An acclaimed 1930’s actor, famous for playing Sherlock Holmes, invites the cast of his current production to his mousetrap of a mansion. When one of his guest is murdered, the master thespian must channel the brilliance of his beloved detective to solve the mystery. Twists, turns and hilarity ensue. HOLIDAY LIGHTS

Prairie Village’s Candy Cane Lane known as the 7900 block of Outlook Lane the other 11 months of the year), has been putting on holiday displays for over 50 years, with every house in the loop displaying some decoration. It’s a great tour traffic is thick so the going is slow, but it is very fun. We will depart The View and head to Prairie Village Kansas to see a variety of holiday light displays. Most Adult Fitness classes are FREE for members unless otherwise noted. NonMembers must pay a daily fee to attend these classes. Everyone is required to register at the front desk. Most fitness classes are held in the Fit N Fun Studio unless otherwise noted. See individual programs for details. All classes must meet the minimum number of participants.

PROPER WORKOUT ATTIRE

Shorts must not be shorter than a 3-inch inseam. Sagging shorts or pants are prohibited. T-shirts, tank tops, and performance tops are allowed, as long as the midriff is completely covered. No open-toed shoes (including sandals and flip-flops), high heels, and boots. Jeans or denim allowed on track and treadmill only.

AGE LIMITS

Children under 16 years of age are not allowed in the fitness area unless they have completed a Youth Weight Training Workshop (must be 11-15 years to participate).

EQUIPMENT ORIENTATION

Stop by the fitness desk for an orientation on the proper use of the cardiovascular and weight training equipment, weight room etiquette, and proper equipment safety. This service is FREE with your membership.

An intense stationary bike workout that simulates an actual outdoor bike ride. ULTIMATE CARDIO KICKBOXING

Challenge your ENTIRE body and take your cardio and fitness endurance to the next level. Engage in an upbeat, fun and non-stop cardio kickboxing experience by throwing punches and executing kicks. Kickboxing can improve endurance, increase strength, enhance flexibility, strengthen cardiovascular system, and burn calories to control weight. Working from a lead changing boxer’s stance, you will learn how to throw four basic punches ( jab, cross, hook and uppercut) and execute three kicks (front, side and round kick). Specifically designed for View Members only, from 11-15 years of age. This program is required for 15 year-olds who wish to use the fitness area/weight training equipment without a parent/guardian. Those participants who are 11-14 years of age will require an active involvement of an adult parent/guardian. POLICIES & PROCEDURES INFORMATION & POLICIES All patrons are expected to comply with comprehensive aquatic rules and regulations which are posted at the facility. A swimsuit with liner is required in order to swim in the swimming pool. A shirt/shorts(including gym shorts) is NOT considered proper swimwear. Refunds/credits must be requested prior to second class. A $5 cancellation fee will be applied . Fees reflect Early Bird Registration discount. Add $10 for registration after listed date. For pool safety, class participants will only be allowed to swim during scheduled class time.

AQUATIC FITNESS POLICES

With a variety of classes offered at convenient times throughout the week, get your muscles moving and get in shape while having a blast and catching up with friends. Participants must pre-register to attend classes. Class is limited to 20 enrollees. If class enrollment is full, participants will be placed on a waiting list. When a vacancy occurs, those on the waiting list will be contacted and enrolled in the class. Enrollees who do not attend three (3) consecutive classes and do not communicate their absences to their instructors will be cancelled from the class. The space will be given to those on the waiting list. Please be on time for your class. Participants arriving later than 10 minutes after the start of class will not be permitted to join the class or enter the lap pool. The space will be given to those on the standby waiting list. Please do not enter the lap pool until the start of your class. Feel free to warm up in the Leisure Pool. Those on the waiting list may utilize the leisure pool and be on “stand by� for the class. Ten (10) minutes after the start of class, if there are less than 20 in the class for which they have enrolled, they may join the class in the order in which their name appears on the standby-waiting list. Stand-bys will sign in on the class roster. Prior to joining the class, they will obtain permission from the instructor.

Prior to enrollment you must: 1. Swim 300 yards using front crawl with rhythmic breathing and breast stroke; 2. Demonstrate a 20 yard swim, dive to recover a 10-lb object, return to the surface and swim to starting point. 3. Tread water for two minutes using legs only

WSI-Water Safety Instructor

Location: Community Center The American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors course provides instructor candidates the training needed to teach courses in the Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program by developing their understanding of how to use the course materials, how to conduct training sessions and how to evaluate participants’s progress. LIFEGUARD INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

The Red Cross Lifeguard Instructors course provides instructor candidates the training needed to teach entry-level lifeguard participants knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to emergencies and to provide care for injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel arrive and take over. Fees, dates and additional details will be available after October 1. (Without exception, you must attend all sessions.)

PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS (Minimum age 8 years) Many individuals achieve optimal results with 1 on 1 instruction. Our private swim lessons are taught by experienced instructors who are able to concentrate on your specific needs. To arrange private, semi private and adaptive aquatic lessons, register at Guest Services. Upon receipt of enrollment and payment, you will be contacted within five (5) business days to schedule your lessons. SLIM, TRIM AND TONE

Uses shallow and deep water; mild intensity workout; tones abs, thighs and underarms. Enrollees who do not attend three (3) consecutive classes will be cancelled from the class if they do not communicate their absences to their instructors. The space will be given to those on the waiting list. Please be on time for your class. Participants arriving later than 10 minutes after the start of class will not be permitted to join the class or enter the lap pool. The space will be given to those on the standby waiting list. Please do not enter the lap pool until the start of your class. Feel free to warm up in the Leisure Pool. If class enrollment is full, a participants will be placed on a waiting list. SHELTER INFORMATION Helpful Event Information

Shelter Cancellations

• Possession and consumption of alcohol is prohibited in Grandview’s parks. • Shelters and pavilions do NOT have electricity. • No hunting is allowed in the parks. • Any sound amplification requires a permit. • Vehicles must remain on paved surfaces only. • The pavilion, gazebo, and shelters are available during park hours only, from 7:30 am – 11:00 pm. • All shelter reservations must be made in person, at least three days in advance.

If cancelling two weeks or more prior to the reservation date, a $10 administrative fee will be deducted from the refund. No refunds will be given if cancelling less than two weeks prior to the reservation date. A reservation may be moved to any other available date within the calendar year. If there is a difference in the re-booked fee from the original, the difference will need to be paid. All requests, whether a refund, cancellation or transfer must be coordinated with the Guest Services Supervisor in advance.
