PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Can you believe the fantastic time we had at our December General Meeting? With at least a hundred members and guests, we celebrated in true holiday spirit! Once again, Monty Brinkley and the SGPHS Show Choir provided us with delightful entertainment.

Social Chair Jean Van Schaick and her committee and our hostess Jill Malone outdid themselves with a wonderful Christmas lunch. And the Auditorium! Decorating Chair Debbie Beaudin and her committee created a room filled with beautiful red poinsettias. Hope you were lucky enough to get one of those centerpieces!

Janice Pribble and her Christmas Auction Committee’s hard work paid off big time! Thanks to you members, generous merchants and donors, and of course, our Auctioneer, Councilman Jeff Copeland and his spotter, Rodney Reid. The wine basket, Christmas tree raffle, bake sale, silent and audible auction were a smashing success. We raised well over $16,000! UNBELIEVABLE! So thank you, thank you to everyone who gave of their time or monetary/item donations. And of course a big thank you to everyone who bid on our items! A big thanks to Sara Dedeluk and Melinda Rodgers along with the Counselor and students from Young Women’s Leadership Academy for their assistance with the Silent Auction. Couldn’t do without them!

Most recently, we were fortunate to be able to host the Chamber of Commerce annual Christmas party on December 9. Thank you to Pat Watson Capps for this opportunity which we hope will bring future opportunities to utilize our beautiful Woman’s Club building.

As we say good-bye to 2021, it is with hopeful anticipation that we welcome 2022 and the busy year it brings.
