This session is open to all media and skill levels. Students younger than 18 must be accompanied by or have the permission of a parent or guardian. No instruction included.

Krista is a multi-disciplinary artist recognized for her playful approach to art making. Prerequisite: Foundational knowledge of chosen medium, and a developed art practice and body of work.
Supported by writing prompts and instructor guidance, students will discover how creating mixed-media work on one surface reflects their journey and internal wisdom. Themes such as mindfulness, acceptance, trust in self, and painting as journey rather than as destination will be woven throughout. An environment void of pressure can free mental and emotional blocks and unleash strength, personality, intuition, and creativity.

SOLARPLATE PRINTING Dan Welden
DRUM LEAF BINDING Sharon Giesfeldt-van Ruiswyk
February 25 – March 1 | 9 am – 4 pm Tuition: $725 | Supply fee: $45
April 27 | 9 am – 4 pm Tuition: $75 | Supply fee: $27
Learn from master printmaker, Dan Welden, the developer of the Solarplate and pioneer of safer and greener methods. Under Dan’s guidance, students will produce and print several 8 x 10-inch images. In true north woods fashion, students are invited to come a day early to partake in a dogsled trip.
The drum leaf binding was developed by master bookbinder Tim Ely. Popular with printmakers, photographers, and artists—the beauty of this binding is the uninterrupted page spread and the ease of collating pages. This adhesive binding presents the full page with no sewing thread to interrupt the flow of imagery or text. A solid board cover protects the artwork contained within.
