GIS added to Assessor’s website by Susan Altieri, Assessor The Granby Assessor, in conjunction with the Office of Community Development, has created a new website design and update that includes access to the Town’s Geographic Information System. The new website allows access to the Assessor’s database, including property value summary, building data, sales search, permit information, photos, and all other pertinent information. Information is linked to a parcel map that can display any selected parcel and its relationship to the surrounding area. A digital mapping format also includes: sales data, zoning, wetlands, streams, lakes, topography and a high-resolution aerial view. This significant enhancement will be a useful tool for realtors, buyers, surveyors, attorneys, builders and Granby citizens. Please visit the Assessor’s page on the town’s website at: www.granby-ct.gov, click the assessor’s page and follow the link to the property values or visit the website: www.qpublic.net/ct/granby/ The Assessor’s office welcomes your comments and suggestions on the site.

Inside:

24 open seats and, as in the past, a twosided ballot will be used. In the past, the Board of Selectmen race has caused confusion. All five seats are open every two years but voters can only choose one candidate for First Selectman and two candidates from those running for the Board. This year the losing candidate running for First Selectman automatically becomes a candidate for the Board of Selectmen. With six people running for five positions on the Board of Selectmen, the person receiving the least number of votes of the six candidates will not be elected.
