5 days fermentation in stainless steel vats at a 24-25°C, followed by malolactic fermentation

Intense, deep purple-ruby red colour with violet highlights. Fresh fragrant nose with pleasant hints of cherry, strawberry, ripe plums. Full, velvety and juicy taste with a pleasant almond background.

Vinification in small tanks, with traditional pumping over the cap of the must to delicately extract substances and tannins.

Winemaker comments

Complex aromas of crushed flowers, plums and fresh-cut porcini with evident hints of mint. Full bodied, concentrated, with amazing tannins and superripe fruit. Long, very ripe and almost jammy finish, great lenght.

70% Barbera 30% Nebbiolo

Wine-making process

Arcaplà name is from the local dialect and means ‘put on the top’. The later ripening Nebbiolo grapes are added to already partially fermentated Barbera.

Winemaker comments

A pretty and silky red, with delicious blackberry, currant, coffee and dark chocolate character. Medium to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a long finish.

Late harvest (November) of Campo del Gatto vineyard grapes. 8 days of fermentation on grape skins at a 28°C controlled temperature and then the wine is put in wood barrels.

Dark, enciting nose, with black fruit, ripe prunes, cherry and a hint of spice. Fullbodied, with a wll-balanced,smooth palate, with lightly velvety tannins, lots of flavor and a long finish.

Lovely aroma of cherry, currant, rose petals and oak. Full-bodied with excellent concentration. Round, generous mid-palate with layers of fruit. Long, long finish with a levely spiciness, polished tannins and beautifully integrated oak. Harmonious, complex and classy.

We have set out to achieve the very best by leaving the finest bunches on the vines during the grape-harvest so that they can be picked when they will have had the opportunity to ripen still further and will produce a more concentrated Barolo.

Tobacco, earth and prune character turns to flowers and freshly sliced fruit with mint undertones. Full-bodied, long, with perfectly integrated tannins and a fine, silky texture.
