Whether that line of thinking is trite, profound or nowhere in between is anyone’s guess. We know what got us here. We are proof. We’re sticking with it; carving our niche, meeting like minds and making every day our first.

Our factory.

Our small, single-story brick and mortar Los Angeles factory is the engine of the Graf Lantz dream locomotive. It’s loud. It’s tight. It’s frenetic, and it’s filled by a talented team of craftspeople with a knack for unconventional materials, jumping through hoops and keeping us on the rails every day.

From coasters to bins, placemats to pouches, each piece is a reflection of quality, beauty, and utility designed by nature and enhanced by us. Each piece is made to work with the group or stand out on its own.

Every coaster should be 3 things: beautiful, functional and enduring. Most are none of those things. So we decided to make our own. Knowing a lot about merino wool felt, we suspected it would be a good place to start. And we were right. Very right. In fact, our first pass at making one is pretty much the exact same coasters we sell today. Staple reinventions, perfected to the millimeter, built to last.

Why Felt?

We chose merino felt as a signature textile for all the right reasons. Some are obvious, like the beauty in its unique structure, color and finish. But it’s the unexpected durability and strength hidden in featherweight lightness that completed our embrace of the world’s oldest textile. The balance of natural beauty and endless utility is peculiar to felt and what we design into with every bag.
