Thursday, 25 August 2011 Graduate House 220 Leicester Street, Carlton 6pm for 6.30pm Jeffrey Rosenfeld is Professor and Head, Department of Surgery, Monash University and Director, Department of Neurosurgery the Alfred Hospital. He trained in general surgery and neurosurgery in Melbourne, Oxford, UK and Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He is Adjunct Professor to the Centre for Military and Veterans' Health, University of Queensland. He is a Major General and the Surgeon General Defence Health Reserves, Australian Defence Force. He joined the Army Reserve in 1984 and has served on seven overseas operations including Rwanda, East Timor, Bougainville, Solomon Islands and Iraq. He is a world authority on military trauma particularly neurotrauma. His research at Monash University is primarily on traumatic brain injury. He has published over 200 peer reviewed articles, chapters and a book. He is also the Chair of the Editorial Board of the 'ADF Health' which is the journal of the Defence Health Services and is on the Editorial Board of four international journals.
