A trained primary and secondary teacher who has taught in country Victoria (Horsham, Kyabram) and Melbourne (Hawthorn, Albert Park, Geelong, Sunshine west) and a Secondary school Principal for many years (Horsham, Kyabram, Sunshine West), Sister Brigid obviously loved teaching. She sees education as the way to make the most impact on the kind of opportunities young people have in life. Currently Sr Brigid is the Coordinator of the Brigidine Secondary Schools Council, a structure established to assist a group of seven schools to do future planning, develop leadership, share curriculum initiatives, set up new governance structures etc. Sr Brigid is also the Coordinator of the Brigidine Asylum Seekers' Project which takes various initiatives to assist refugees and asylum seekers.
