A leading manufacturer of concrete products in the UK was looking to upskill their staff to improve quality and productivity. The company had been using lean techniques for some time but felt that they could reap more benefits from better implementation across their organisation. They wanted a provider that could work around their busy production schedules and meet their needs for flexibility. They also wanted their training and assessment to be completed in small groups at their own premises rather than sending staff off-site to study. Highfield’s solution was the Highfield Level 2 Certificate in Lean Organisation Management Techniques (RQF), which is designed for those who manage, or are part of, a team involved in implementing lean manufacturing techniques. It covers a wide range of topics including process mapping, 5S, 8 Wastes, 5 Whys and Kaizen – all aimed at improving efficiency within an organisation. Highfield provided the qualifications and supporting resources through elearning and classroom delivery. A flexible approach was adopted to ensure that staff could train around busy production schedules without negatively impacting on the completion timescale or quality of the training. The company reported that “the whole project went well” with a full course being delivered ahead of schedule by Highfield’s approved centre partner. The Highfield Level 2 Certificate in Lean Organisation Management Techniques (RQF) is a qualification aimed at developing knowledge and understanding of the principles, concepts and application of lean organisation management techniques. It has been developed to enable learners to understand the principles and concepts of lean organisation management techniques, and the benefits they can bring when applied to an organisation.
