The diversity of Products and Approaches of Young Creators The 8th Design Exhibiton and Exchange in Slovenia / The Kocka Hall - A 2 This year’s Top Ideas are presented in the biggest layout so far. We can say with certainty that the initiative of the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre has been successful and recognized by the creators as an excellent opportunity to present their ideas. Everyone is aware that this is an event with increased media attention, which is still important in their recognition and subsequent market penetration. In my opinion, the presentation at the Top Ideas offers some of the key advantages, especially in terms of real experience. The first is surely that at this place the ideas are not evaluated by the branch experts. This part is mostly done by the visitors or consumers. Their praise, suggestions, and sometimes criticisms encourage to reflecting on, and consequently, further product development or a new business path. The aspect of the placement of young creators in the entrepreneurial structures and the recognition of their talents among the other established exhibitors or vendors is also important. Firstly I would like to expose our sponsors. The companies Lesnina and Mõmax are looking forward to new fresh ideas and are willing to highlight the best in their showrooms.

In order to share the experience, for the second consecutive year, we have invited an already established design-oriented company to present itself. This invitation was welcomed by the Pikka Design Company, which will be presented as the Special Guest. I would like to emphasize that within the Top Ideas, young creators gain rich experience in the design and business world and, last but not least, they progress in their personal growth. This time too, young Slovenian designers, architects and craftsmen are represented with different products and approaches within the Design Exchange. Some bet on modern technology, others on recycling or hand making of products. They participate as individuals or in a group. There are a lot of new exhibitors, and some are also those who are looking for an opportunity with new ideas many times. At the end I would like to add, that these are products that reflect the time, their time. It is important that they are ready to create and cocreate it. Ernest Nograšek, B.A.
